System Not Work - Explore Blue Tooth Re Installation
Sep 4, 2006
I have Windows XP Home edition. After installation of Autopatcher April 2006 edition, the link on the system tray is not working properly. "Explore my Bluetooth Places" is opening with Notepad! Reinstallation of Widcomm Bluetooth software was also invain.
In 2005, I bought a desktop PC, which included an installation CD for Windows XP. That computer broke down a few months ago, so I bought a laptop with Vista pre-installed. I have grown really tired of Vista and I would like to use XP for my laptop. So I used my old XP installation CD, but after I clicked "Install", a message appeared. It told me that the installation could not be done because the Windows system on the laptop (Vista) was newer than the XP on the CD. Can this be fixed in any way?
the S3 sleep state to work on the Tyan Thunder K8N motherboard running WindowsXP Pro x64? When I check my sytem from within Windows, it only says it supports S1 and S4 sleep states... I have the most recent motherboard bios and all other 64-bit updates installed... but for whatever reason, no utility, test programs or even Windows itself sees that this motherboard supports the S3 sleep state. It's a logo'd desktop motherboard, so it is supposed to support S3, but I can't for the life of me get WinXP Pro x64 to recognize that it does.
I was innocently going through the paces on my Windows 2000 machine, when suddenly it wouldn't allow me to open my desktop folders. I'd been using the computer to play music through iTunes for about three hours before it acted up.If I move the cursor on top of any icon on my desktop it will not open or move. Rebooting hard and hot don't change it. Trying to get into files through the task bar doesn't work. I can start Word and Word can see my files and folders, but can't manipulate or transfer them.
Windows XP Home. I am getting the following error message ---The instruction at "0x01c12bf2" referenced memory at "0x022b6680". The memory could not be "read". Click OK to terminate the Program.
i am, or was using windows xp. started getting the error message on startup - windows root>system32toskrnl.exe is missing/corrupt etc.so i put in the windows xp cd and went to recovery and i've tried most things people have suggested, copying/expanding the file etc. but i want to try everything one more time just to cross that of the list so if u can give me some suggestions ill try them so i can let u no wot happened.
I tried reinstalling xp and it said "unable to copy partmgr.sys"then it gave me the option to retry or skip. retry didn't work so i just canceled setup. is there anything i can do to get around this problem? also, windows update isn't working for me. it keeps failing during installation.
when i double click on "My Computer" in the desktop it opens with the "folders" part open on the standard buttons i.e its just like right clicking and exploring. plus i also realised that right clicking on my computer has the explore option first, and then comes open. And also, when i double click on any of my drives in the "my computer" it pops up an error, and the right click option is again wierd, but different this time, the 1st option is autoplay, then comes open, then search then explore. The drive doesnt open with "open" and "autoplay" but only opens with exploring and not only , but the drive opens in a new window.
I am the admin for our home computer.I used to be able to Explore all the other user's Internet Temporary folders just to monitor my kids viewing habits.not nosy, just trying to be a good parent. For some reason, this ability has disappeared.I'd go into the user's Local Settings and there would be a folder that said Temp Internet and I could pull up thumbnails on about 5 different folders with long cryptic names. Did something get turned off or switched? I'm running Windows XP and I used to be able to do this on this same outer.
I recently built a new computer and it has been just an incredible load of troubles ever since the first boot up. I first installed Windows 2000 so I can actually boot up my computer then upgraded to Windows XP SP2. After this I had a messload of trouble getting errors during the XP installation which I believe were various fonts. Skipping over this the installation was successful and I was enjoying Windows XP. Now I did the automatic updates that is recommanded and let then download and install. Once they installed and the system rebooted, I never got to enjoy my computer.
After the restart the computer would hang where the log in screen should be then restart and do this over and over again. I thought this was an installation problem so I reinstalled 2000 so I could just reformat and fix the problem. Now my computer is rejecting every time I try to reformat and reinstall 2000 giving me various blue screen fatal errors and errors during the Windows 2000 setup preventing the installation from going any further..............
I tried to load windows xp in my pc but during installation (of course many times i tried to install) blue screen saying your computer is having problem like that. I checked the memory with diagnostic tool it said no error and also motherboard no error setupdd.sys at one time and another time stop: 0x000008e blue screen errors came during setup end Moreover i pressed skip for some files beining with letter w during setup in dos mode, but successfully installed. will it give any error after installation finishes?
I decided to make the move and give SP3 a try,I shouldn't have bothered! All went well, and the system rebooted, well into the boot sequence I was greeted by a blue screen:STOP: C0000139 {Entry Point Not Found}The procedure entry point GdiGetBitmapBitSize could not be located in the dynamic link library GDI32.dll. Naturally, I fired up Acronis True Image and restored this morning's image, but I figure at some point they'll try to push this update down on patch Tuesday
I have a new bare bones Tower. When I try to install Windows XP Pro 1 - 2CPU OEM version 2002 everything goes fine until the "Install devices" sequence when the progress bar gets just over half way across it stops and the BLU screen appears. Cpu fan and two case fans. The other related verbage is... possible HD problem or recently installed devices should be disconnected. I tried a Dell reinstall windows XP Home edition SP1 also with no luck either. The Software is Authentic and has Halogram product key sticker purchase new by me. My thought is there are driver problems between the older software and the newer equipt but am hesitent to buy new version SP3.
I have run windows XP after removing some nasties and the following hassles seem to occur: Can no longer: cut and paste; click and drag icons on desktop; it won't copy; can't file transfer; Int Explorer won't initiate; email (outlook) says I can't do the requested action (send/recieve); the network card isn;t recognised; the media files won't play; I can't send to e drive to burn files.; the security I have - Trend Micro - apears to load and then vanishes ...seems all I can do is read, open some programs and type...
I image edited some photos and gave them a slightly different file name. However, in Windows Explore, when viewing the thumbnails, those edited pictures show up as if they weren't edited. Why? Is there any way to make Windows Explore show the edited version of the photos when viewing via thumbnails?
My screen just went to blue and states that "Warning spywrae threat detected on your pc" to protect your computer from spyware attacks click here" And then a warning keeps popping up from the active process bar saying "system needs neseccary installation of spyware" When i close the pop-up this web site appears http://total-pc-protection.com/
right i have laptop the windows is not english so i want to install new windows by booting when i try to do that the following errie comes up p#Blue screen, white text, following message (in summary): A problem ha been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGE_AREA Suggestions: Restart computer, if problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. I have a dell Dimension 4600, which has given me so many problems throughout the years. When we got it, the thing ran great. This was a few years ago... A year or two ago the thing got a NASTY Virus, and ever since then it hasn't worked because of hardware and software problems. I pretty much decided to give up at that point and the thing has been sitting around collecting dust.My dad thought it was the memory, and so today I carted the computer up into my room, set it up and put in a new memory card. It didn't help, My computer goes in circles when trying to boot up, until the blue screen pops up. It cannot boot from the hard drive, and I get the message "press F1 to retry boot, F2 for setup utility" F2 takes me to the utility, but as far as I know I don't want to change anything here at the moment. if I press F1 it pops up the same message. So I tried Booting from the CD and Reinstalling from the CD. Neither worked and both of these result in the Blue screen of death. For the install, the blue screen would come up at the third bullet point which I believe is "preparing installation." ***STOP: 0x0000000A (0xCDCDCDCD, 0x00000002, 0x00000001, 0x807d600f) WhenI continue the current upgrade I get "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" the Tech info is: ***STOP: 0x0000000A (0x0a130013, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x807d5ff9) I am getting a few other blue screens but I don't know what the say, But as far as I know, everything I have tried has lead to some form of Blue Death screen. Any Ideas on how I can get this puppy to work?I also tried to boot from my Laptops CD but it didn't work so its not the CD that is the problem.
when I try to boot up my computer I get a blue screen right after the windows is loaded. It just flicks up for a second so I cannot see what it says. It does same with safe mode.I'm not sure, but I think it is caused by display driver I tryied to install. I got a nVidia 8600GT-m card, and nVidia doesn't provide official driver for it, it must come from the vendor or I need to use modified driver. The driver that came from the vendor didn't support some of the openGL functions and gave error when I tried to run stuff on higher resolution
I'm trying to help a friend with a Dell Dimension 4700 desktop with XP home. It suddenly started getting a BSOD with some error messages. Now here's the big problem. The computer doesn't recognize the disk. I've gone into setup and changed it to boot from the DVD-ROM. It still doesn't recognize the CD-ROM. Actually, it has a CD-ROM and a DVD-ROM. BIOS only see's one of them but I've changed the plugs to both of them to eliminate the bad one and still nothing. It's set to boot to the DVD.
Couple weeks ago my friends computer got blue screen error message and we called Dell and they sent us a DVD: Operating System - Reinstallation DVD Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Version 2005 with Update Rollup 2. With one of user help i was able to reinstall Windows from DVD. I can not connect to internet through cable. or I can not turn the wireless adapter on ( F2 button) Or when i try to play sample music with Media Player it gives an error message - Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on your computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might not be functioning properly.
Having suffered 3 HDD failures, I have cloned my laptop hard drive (XP Home edition) with Norton Ghost 9.0. I have copied the MBR as well and made it active. Replaced the laptop drive with the cloned drive, but it only boots up to the XP light blue screen and stalls.
this has been a persistent problem. Mostly when Im playing a game, it happens... the physical memory dump blue screen. Now, in the past Ive gotten that its a RAM problem. 4 sticks of RAM later, I think I can tell you that it is not.Other random symptoms. Just before the Windows XP screen when starting up, sometimes I get a black screen with a blinking cursor at the top left that it will sit at.. forever. If I wait 10 minutes with the power off, I can reboot fine. While the cursor is blinking, I can ctrl+alt+del and it will restart but do the same thing.
I am trying to use the system restore function on windows XP, but every time i select a restore point and the system reboots, it says that the restoration was incomplete and "no changes have been made." I have tried multiple restore points. Microsoft.com suggested that i verify that the task manager, WMI, and system restore services were running, and they are. I also tried disabling my antivirus program, but the same thing happens.
Over the last two weeks, my XP started to take longer and longer to shut down. Now, it doesn't and I have to manually press the startup/shut down button. XP is 2002 version; SP ;, 2.3 GHz CPU; 2.29 GHz and 0.99 GB RAM.My virus/security suite is Zone Alarm.I tried to use System Restore and though it does shut and restart the computer, system restore tells me it could not restore the computer.
I have developed a very strange problem on my PC, everytime I have to press the reset button on my case, or there's a power cut when Windows reboots, it will boot to the desktop fine and I can move my mouse but no windows, no programs or anything will open.
My new system has an unusually high level of cpu usage after startup. Windows was only installed a week ago and I haven't installed much software on this yet. Today was the first day I got it online and all I did was install the newest windows updates. The only things I've installed in it are nero, omega radeon drivers, videolan media player, winamp, and adobe.I've looked at the hijack log and I don't see anything out of the ordinary. The odd thing is, the cpu usage isn't constant, it ranges from 30%-50% even when nothing is running.
He took it home tonight because its being playing up over the past week and yesterday it refused to boot xp. He tried the recovery console himself and im not sure what he did but upon starting the computer up xp immediately jumps into "reinstalling windows" at the install stage. It gets down to 33 minutes and the computer restarts and repeats the whole process. I cant format the drive as theres important work on it and im not going to be able to take my computer home till next weekend. I was hoping someone could offer an alternative solution to a format?
Just formatted my computer, and now i want to install my windows, but when i am installing it, installation does not copy all files. setup canot copy the file: comctl32.dll and after installation i get a message winlogon.exe unable to locate component. and nothing happens after.
I recently bought a new computer and had windows XP installed as well as having Norton AntiVirus program installed (came with a package). Now, when I try installing a HP printer the installation CD does not work but when I try it on my laptop it does work. Could it be the norton blocking the CD installation? What would I have to do in order to fix this problem.
