Is there anything on this log that might slow down my machine, particularly in Internet broadcasting

I'm currently having a problem with my microphone. My setup is headphones with the microphone attached both plugged into the front jacks on my case.
Now the problem is that any sound that is heard through my headphones is also being broadcasted through my microphone. ( e.g. If I'm listiening to music and I open my microphone to talk to somebody in ventrilo they can hear the music that is playing in my headphones
Lately my computer has been extremely slow, not just internet slow but onboard slow. For example, if I click on an application from the desktop it will sit there for 10-20 seconds before anything happens. Occasionally I'll click multiple times on something and nothing will happen then 30 seconds later it will open multiple instances of things. This delay has been happening with just about anything I click on, acting like the computer's busy doing something else when nothing else should be going on. I've looked in the task manager and the applications column will be blank

Then it workd perfectly for 2-3 days and the sme porblem did a restart working now. i called up my ISP and they said it may be a faulty router. But is not after diagnosis. View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I downloaded the updated drivers for my hp scanner software, an icon appeared on my desktop and if I right click it to delete it my computer freezes. If I drag it to the recycle bin or any other folder it just duplicates it and it is still on the desktop. I can't find anywhere else where I could delete it from the registry for example or add/delete programs list. I can't rename it , to try to delete it, because of the freezing issue. I will never use it so It bothers me that its there.

When I hook up my modem through usb it works fine but unable to utilize my full download speed capabilities. Hooked the modem up via ethernet to laptop and it worked just fine. The only thing I can find wrong that I don't know how to fix or what is causing it is the fact that the physical address of the card comes up as the broadcast address (FF-FF-FF-FF-FF-FF). Very strange.

norton internet securities wont work, norton antivirus wont work.
computer (WinXP SP2 - 1GB RAM) just started in the last day or two to load really slow -- it takes a good half hour or more to get to the point where you can click on an icon and it takes a few minutes to open. Don't even ask about the internet. it did not download anything in the last few days and has no idea why this is happening.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a number of XP computers (all SP2) connected to the Net via a wireless modem/router. Everything was fine until a few days ago when my connection speed dramatically slowed after being online for a few hours. This happens to all of the PCs in my home - so it's nothing internal to my PC. I tried to transfer a large file across the wireless network and it transferred fine (5Mb in 10 seconds). I can also connect to the router's web management software without problem. So it's not the wireless connection. Which leaves either my modem/router or my broadband connection. The router's "DSL" light is always on which infers that my broadband connection is OK. So that leaves my modem/router.
My problem is that my internet connection is pretty slow on my main computer. It's an older (6 years) Dell. I'm still running XP and IE7. I have Comcast cable and it's connected through a Linksys modem. The problem is that the internet response on this machine is pretty slow. I have a laptop that I use and that is much better. I would figure that my "main" computer would be faster since it has a hard connection, not wireless. I know that isn't much info so ask away and I do what I can to provide all the info needed.

It has been starting and shutting down extremely slow. When I go on the internet, it's been slow. Last night I installed IE8, and the problem got worse. It was even slower. So I did a System Restore just now, and it seems just as slow as after installing IE8, but now I'm back to IE6

It's been coming on slowly, but my connection to the internet, via internet explorer is extremely slow. I also experience long waits opeing new windows, or attachments from a site, as well as rply and fwd on E-mail. Once connected moving from site to site is normal speed, but as stated other openings take up to 2-3 minutes to connect. My ISP says my connection is fine, but I do get a connectivity icon on occasion, causing me to click repair, and it goes away.

View 13 Replies View RelatedI am currently running windows xp pro. I attend university and use their lan internet which i get via a port in my dorm. Lately I have had problems with my computer and the internet/running slow. The internet will work fine somtimes, then for a reason i am unable to identify, it seems to stop working. The computer doesn't see a network problem, i just don't get any internet access, and that includes any programs not just my browser. when this happens my computer also runs very slowly. It takes it 3-5 seconds to close a window or even to minimize. I can't find any programs sucking my memory in the task manager, and have run numerious virus and anti-spyware scans, but have found nothing. I am attaching a hjt log, hopefully someone can figure out how to get my computer back up to a useable/ reliable point.

I spoke to internet service provider two times and they says there is no problem from their side. They have done a speed check and said that there could be something wrong with the computer.

Also my computer is old in computer terms about 5 or 6 how can I speed it up without paying money? My C: drive always seems to be low disk space. I don't download anything to that drive. View 4 Replies View RelatedI have recently downloaded a free program and was going to install it. I ran it, and then my antivirus blocked it because it contained a virus. I have been looking for the program for a very long time, and I was angry that it didn't work. So I allowed the infected program and then the it disappeared. The icon disappeared. I knew I shouldn't have done it, but nothing bad happened to me for about a day. Then, my laptop was slower than normal, internet connection was slow (I'm right next to the router too), and I was getting pop-ups. I tried to do System Restore, but all my restore points were gone! I couldn't even switch months! Also, Automatic Updates was telling me that it was off, but when I checked my settings were the same when I first set them.
