Dec 30, 2008
I'm currently having a problem with my microphone. My setup is headphones with the microphone attached both plugged into the front jacks on my case.
Now the problem is that any sound that is heard through my headphones is also being broadcasted through my microphone. ( e.g. If I'm listiening to music and I open my microphone to talk to somebody in ventrilo they can hear the music that is playing in my headphones
i could not hear the sound but when i tested it with realtek hd audio manager it is ok but other program requiring sound could not be able to heard even Internet i tried to adjust it in volume control i had this error
"there are no active mixer devices available"
i tried to reinstall its driver but now receiving this error

My gf has a Vaio laptop and everytime we plug headphones into the jack we no longer get sound out of the speakers. we still get sound out of the headphones just not the speakers. She found a setting once that was set to headphones only and she changed it back to speakers and they worked again but now she doesnt know where that setting is anymore. Im alot more comfortable on a desktop and have never seen this setting and i have gone through just bout everything in audio settings but still have not found this.

I've googled and googled and everything I've tried I either don't have the options or it didn't work. The issue is whenever I plug in my headset.. both my laptop's speakers and mic work.. as well as my headset's speakers and mic. I'm plugging the headset into the audio and mic jacks on the laptop. My laptop is an Acer.
I have a problem with my headphone, I plugged it into the front jack and it's been working okay for months now. A couple days ago I noticed only the right side of the phones playing, I tried it in the soundcard and the same problem I tried it on my cassette player and the same thing
Not sure if this is the right forum but whenever I speak on teamspeak or even record myself with sound recorder, all the noises from my speakers, yes speakers, echo in the recording and its 10x as loud as it is in the speaker. For example, I'm talking on teamspeak and someone else says something, their words echo 10x as loud and they kick me
Just tonight, my system went crazy. after i pulled out my speakers and plugged in my headphones, the pc froze for a while, then went back to like 4 bit colour. i rebooted and it wouldnt load back up windows. it came to the screen where u pick normal boot up, or safe mode etc only way i can get anywhere, and submitting this, is through safe mode. any ideas what happened and if i can fix it without fotmatting?

since i got XP, my microphone no longer works. It says that it doesn't detect it and that I should plug it in but I'm 100% sure its plugged in, Ive checked. For some info that may help u, I dont have a headset mic. Just one that sits on your desktop. Its definatly plugged in, I have SP2 for XP Pro.I previously had Windos ME where my mic worked fine. Ive tried doing the audio tuning wizard, but it still says I dont have a mic plugged in and it doesn't detect it.
I have a Pavilion M50 monitor that i'm using for my computer with windows 2000. The monitor works fine and all, but the microphone that comes attached doesnt.(comes with a cable that plugs into the mic jack)I thought this might be a driver problem, as windows simply recognizes the Monitor as a "Plug and Play Monitor" and when trying to download the driver from the HP support site it essentially said that the Pavilion M50 had no driver for Windows 2000/XP.I don't have another micropohne to plug into the jack, only USB ones which work fine. The Audio output of the jack right beside it works fine so i don't believe it is the sound card driver.
My'Recording Control' shows Microphone 'select' button checked.Volume Control does not.Could this be part of the reason I cannot use my microphone to record into Audacity and/or Sound Recorder?
I am running xp pro. I can not get an internet connection through my ethernet card. When I hook up my modem through usb it works fine but unable to utilize my full download speed capabilities. Hooked the modem up via ethernet to laptop and it worked just fine. The only thing I can find wrong that I don't know how to fix or what is causing it is the fact that the physical address of the card comes up as the broadcast address (FF-FF-FF-FF-FF-FF). Very strange.
Bought a new microphone thought the old one that i havent used for couple of years was broken. But my new one is not working either. I can hear people but they cannot hear me, it is not mute either. But sound recorder not working either, can anyone help please?
In my windows XP pro SP2, i disable the sounds in sounds and audio devices in control panel. but still i heard the sound when clicking on folders in windows XP.
Is there a way to redirect the Microphone connected to my Local Machine to the Remote Server (WinXP/Windows Server 2003), when using Remote Desktop.Bcoz my application which requires Microphone will be running on the terminal server (win server 2003) and all users will be accessing the application after logging into the terminal server using remote desktop. I know that I can redirect the sound from terminal server to the local machine. But will the users be able to use their microphones in their local machines?
I have a strange audio problem which i havent encounted before and cant for the life of me figure it out.My microphone isnt recording exteral sound, but i can record sound only from in the computer i.e. "what you hear" records.
After a while my sound will cut out and when I try to play things in Winamp or anything it will stay stuck @ 0:00The sounds will sputter for a second and then freeze. Also when the sound dies, sometimes programs will start to freeze up to the point I can't even kill them in tskmgr. System sounds don't play either.I've tried updating to the latest drivers. I tried an older version of the drivers too.
I get a series of low pitch beeps about every hour for a second or two no matter what's running. It's not a system beep, much lower in freguency. Everything else is working fine, good audio for all playbacks.I don't have a system speaker attached to the motherboard. The sound comes thru my Sound Blaster powered speakers, even with the volume off.
I recently upgraded my OS to WinXP Pro from WinME, and there is no sound. I right-click My computer, go to properties, hardware, device manager, then there are 2 yellow circles with exclamation points in them under Multimedia Audio Controller (Intel 82801AA ac'91 Audio Controller), and Unknown Device (Microsoft MPU-401 Compatible MIDI Device). I tried to reinstall them, but it says There was a problem installing this hardware: Intel 82801AA AC'97 Audio Controller. An error occured during the installation of the device. The data is invalid.
I recently purchased a refurbished computer from Fry's Electronics. It seemed like a very good deal, so I went ahead and took it along with others who were taking them.
I finally got my internet up and I began to play Counter-strike. The sound sometimes messes up. I can hear other peoples shots just fine, but when I shot, it is almost silent.
This started last night, the only thing that I did that was out of the ordinary was ran Avast's thourough scan fully, but even after that my sound worked, so it didnt delete the driver to my knowlege, but when I do a dxdiag and look at my audio, it doesn't exist, there is no sound card installed, and allI use is my DFI Lan Party UT RDX200 CF-DR mother boards on board sound. I tried installing the driver again fom DFI and to no success, now when I went to install the drive again, I got an error saying that this device isnt approved by Windows. Could windows be preventing my audio card from working?
When i start my pc skype says that he hasn't found recording hardware. Itunes doesn't work, like Windows Media Player, Winamp etc. The sound is gone. I tried to fix it myself, cause i disabled a driver that seemed to have a problem, but i don't remember what the name was. Now not only the programs have no sound anymore, but windows is silent too. It sure wasn't the driver of my sound card. I installed Everest and he doesn't find any Windows Audio, and says the realtek has "noDB". When i am in the music tab of the "Diagnostic help program for DirectX" "windows synthesizer" test sound doesn't play, but the realtek does.
This is about sound issues from the computer as in cant get sound from the computer.Went to computer properties then multi media controller has yellow question mark next to it so tried to update driver it goes to the wizard but it will not find any drivers for it without a cd which dont have. Tried roll back drivers says no drivers are backed up on file. Went to sound audio video game controllers audio codecs says all the codecs are working for this computer. Control panel sound audio says no sound device is connected. The sound card is realtek ALC655 AC 97 enhanced audio controller. Again got these drivers from foxxconn and exactly same issues. Extracted the files easily enough from wizard but when go to exe run folder the run it says cannot find setupfilex.dll. Then go to gxdver it dont do anything. Go to exe icon run and logger then it goes cannot run please find the setup exe file from the directory. In the folders cannot seem to find anything that will install the actual drivers without a conflicting issue somewhere. So everytime download this compressed driver folders for the drivers it has problems when the files are extracted. The sound card is enabled and mutli media controller says code 28 drivers not installed.
For some reason I have no sound for you tube videos but otherwise sounds work as normal. I'm running XP using Firefox on a Dell laptop. I've tried it with IE and still no sound.
My laptop is running windows xp home edition. it's packardbell, i bought it recently and updated service pack 2. since then it plays music for couple of minutes and sound goes off along with the volume icon on the taskbar. i tried control panel - sounds - show icon taskbar, but it doesn't work until i restart the comupter. i don't understand what could be wrong.. hardware or software. if it's hardware then the sound icon doesnt' disappear all of a sudden with out an error message.
