Microphone Echo - Sound Recorder - Noises From Speakers
Aug 7, 2007
Not sure if this is the right forum but whenever I speak on teamspeak or even record myself with sound recorder, all the noises from my speakers, yes speakers, echo in the recording and its 10x as loud as it is in the speaker. For example, I'm talking on teamspeak and someone else says something, their words echo 10x as loud and they kick me
i am wondering if anyone knows if there is a way to adjust the length in which the windows xp sound recorder will record sounds from example a web site? currently it seems to be able to only record up to 1 minute of sound. i would like to be able to record the sound from a Internet video which is about 3 minutes long. does anyone know if there is a way to adjust the recording length?
I get a series of low pitch beeps about every hour for a second or two no matter what's running. It's not a system beep, much lower in freguency. Everything else is working fine, good audio for all playbacks.I don't have a system speaker attached to the motherboard. The sound comes thru my Sound Blaster powered speakers, even with the volume off.
I have an HP Pavilion a815n desktop PC with Win XP Home. Recently I noticed that Sound Recorder and calculator are missing. I tried researching HP website but without any luck on how to restore the missing things. The only way I know is to restore them is by installing XP again because I tried using Software restore CD that came with the PC but no luck.I have one hard drive that is divided in 3 NTFS partitions. One of which has OS and other two partitions are data drives. If I try to format system partition in order to reinstall OS, will my other two data partitions remain intact?
Small sound recorder disappeared and it's impossible to get it again even from the XP CD. What can I do? What happened? I had it since a short while ago. Exe is still inside Windows folder.
My son likes to play around with the sound recorder on my computer. For some reason it has quit working. It says not enough memory to complete this operation. Quit one or more application to increase available memory and try again.
I'm currently having a problem with my microphone. My setup is headphones with the microphone attached both plugged into the front jacks on my case.
Now the problem is that any sound that is heard through my headphones is also being broadcasted through my microphone. ( e.g. If I'm listiening to music and I open my microphone to talk to somebody in ventrilo they can hear the music that is playing in my headphones
Using XP Pro - go to start, programs, accessories, entertainment, sound recorder. I have used this sound recorder to record a message that I wish to email to a few people. After recording the message, I save it to my desktop. I then go to my email account and attach the file that I have saved to my desktop. The problem seems to be that what I am attaching is actually the address to my desktop and not the actual recording I am trying to send. In other words, what I am sending directs to "C:Documents and SettingsDavidDesktop". Anyway, I would really like to solve this problem and send the recording that I have been trying to do. All help appreciated. Thank you.
My problem is that despite downloading pretty much every possible sound driver on the Toshiba website that it says is meant to work for Windows XP, none of them seem to make the sound work. All I get in the place of sound is that obnoxious beeping noise. When I install the drivers, most of them state that a sound device was not detected but I am perfectly sure that I have a sound device because the sound worked amazingly well when I still had Vista, or they simply 'install' and just dissappear and have no obvious effect.
Sound tab 1: Dirct Sound test results: Failure at step 19 (user verification of software) HRESULT- 0x00000000 (error code) This is the message I get when I check out my speakers. I can't get sound through them anymore.
I just did a clean install of Win XP Pro. Prior to this, the sound was working fine. After the reinstall, no sound. The computer has a Creative SB Live sound card, device manager tells me that it is working correctly, and the speakers (Boston Acoustics with subwoofer) are set up exactly as before. I worked through troubleshooting and it still didnt help. I would appreciate any help. Not only does the system sounds not work, but I can no longer hear audio cds (Media player 10, shows the disk is playing but no sound from speakers).
I have a fairly new Gateway computer and have had several problems with it. As of a couple of days ago, I no longer have sound on my computer. None of my games have sound and I can no longer listen to the online radio stations. However, today when I was on a website, music did come out of the speaker (something the creator of the site built into his homepage). Gateway suggested I update my drivers, but none of them needed to be updated (when I attempted to update it told me I had the newest version). What can I do to see where the problem is coming from?
My gf has a Vaio laptop and everytime we plug headphones into the jack we no longer get sound out of the speakers. we still get sound out of the headphones just not the speakers. She found a setting once that was set to headphones only and she changed it back to speakers and they worked again but now she doesnt know where that setting is anymore. Im alot more comfortable on a desktop and have never seen this setting and i have gone through just bout everything in audio settings but still have not found this.

I have sound from a "plugged in" earpiece but nothing from the speakers on the monitor. My PC is a Packard Bell BL IMED 1519 Media C with O/S XP SP3. I've checked all cable connections.
About a day ago, my computer suddenly stopped playing sounds. I have the speakers plugged in, and I also have the volume at a level where I would normally hear something.
I recently bought a new computer. Finally went from WinME to WinXp. I have outdoor speakers which when I used WinME I would simply unplug the desktop speakers and plug the outdoor speakers in (its wired). Anyway, i could hear all my tunes out by the pool etc.Now when I unplug the desktop speakers and plug in the outdoor speakers. some sound thing (RealTek HD Audio Manager) pops up and asks to check line out, line in, etc. I went through that process and still no sound outside.
I have a pair of stereo speakers, and because of the length of the power cord, and the length of of the 3.5mm jack cable, switching the speakers around is impossible. When I put headphones into the headphone jack in the left (or right channel) speaker, the channels are restored to their proper place. Now every time, as a result, every guy trying to murder me on the right sounds like they're on the left.I have a Realtek sound driver, and no idea what sound card I have.
I've googled and googled and everything I've tried I either don't have the options or it didn't work. The issue is whenever I plug in my headset.. both my laptop's speakers and mic work.. as well as my headset's speakers and mic. I'm plugging the headset into the audio and mic jacks on the laptop. My laptop is an Acer.
i recently installed a mic on my laptop (Toughbook CF-29) and I can hear myself/sounds from the mic through the speaker on my laptop, but xp sound recorder and/or Audacity won't record the sounds going through the mic/speakers. I have tried messing about with advanced audio properties, but can't figure this out.
I keep hearing a static/popping sound from my speakers.I used my headphones and I still hear it so I don't think it's the speakers. If I put a movie on the pc I can hear it but, the static/popping sound is louder. I unistalled and re-installed the audio software (Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit) multiple times along with restarting the pc and it still comes back.I have 5.1 surround sound. Dell Dimension 5100.I opened my pc to look at the hardware and I don't see any problems.
I am getting no sound from my computer.I can't hear videos or any of the normal sounds the computer makes.I've been into the control panel and checked everythingin the sounds and audio device sections...everything seems to be on the right setting...The speakers are wired correctly..and the speaker light is on. I was getting some sounds a few days ago... but now it isn't working at all
"Another application is recording audio. Stop recording with this other application and then try to record with Sound Recorder again." I have turned off all of the start up programs, restarted my computer, and even uninstalled TotalRecorder, which I thought was causing the problem.
I have tried to use Audio Audicity to record as well, but I get an error message there also, so something is really screwing everything up for me.
My problme is that i will be doing things on line or anyotherthing on my pc and i will hear random noises like error noises or download noises but i have no screen pop up ? i was just wonderg what was going on or if something was doing things to my pc that i cant see ?
I'm using an HP Pavilion notebook with XP Home that's about three months old, and have been having some problems with it here and there for maybe two/three weeks. Programs were crashing, not opening, some audio problems, etc. I used Advanced System Optimizer & TuneUp Utilities '06 to clean the registry and things were actually ok for a while.A few days ago, however, Bon Echo started crashing a bit and I had more problems with other programs. Then, after starting up the PC, XP would get to the screen just before showing the account logons and it would suddenly restart, then just loop that process.
