Problem started when running Internet Explorer and would receive an error tab every time stating IE must close. The data error was a mcsvrt.dll problem. Now when I start the computer it takes 10-15 minutes to boot completely and accessing Mozilla or any apps after about 3-4 mins takes ages. Aug 6, 2005Last night I burned a cd using WMP 9 and everything was fine. It was done in about 10 min, then afterwards I closed everything and turned my computer off. This morning I started it up, and tryed to play a computer game. All of the sounds were slowed down to about 50%. I quit that and went to WMP to see if those sounds worked. They all played at 50% too. All of the sounds in windows do the same thing.

Have gone into "My computer" - then "advanced options" and increased virtual memory to 1500. There is a good amount of space on the disc. But actions made no difference and still get the message that the virtual memory is low. Speed of computer has not improved.Will try "System restore".
Free Space And Slowed Down Computer
May 13, 2007My computer has 66gb of space. a few days ago, when i checked,it had 33gb of free space.since then, i updated my adobe reader, and i also upgraded my antivirus to Norton Antivirus 2007. Now there appears to be only 22gb of free space.Is this normal? Now( i think As a result,of this upgrading), my computer now is really slow to startup,and just as slow when reloading from a hibernated state. is there anything i can do to speed up the computer startup,or is there something wrong?

The keyboard died, so I bought a new cheapie that connects via USB. And I still have the wireless mouse. I have removed the Logitech Itouch keyboard software (not the Mouseware),and installed the new keyboard software. Jun 30, 2008i'm not sure what i've done, but my boot times are incredibly slow. i was using diskeeper and they were fine but have switched to perfectdisk 08 not sure if this would have made a problem, i know dk8 boot dfrg is good. Also use ZA pro, but don't download product updates so this shouldn't have caused a problem. I tried a few things one was editing the boot.ini file, except stupid me forgot to save a backup so it is ruined.

Feb 18, 2007I'm on a 1500 plan and at the moment my download speed is the equivilent to dial-up! It's driving me INSANE but I can't figure out if the problem is a hardware or a software one. I have a NetComm NB5Plus4W ADSL2+ Modem Router all the required lights are lit up (ADSL light is solid, not flashing or out). I've restarted a zillion times, checked Windows Firewall (off), checked my AV software (not the problem), run a full virus scan (nothing), run Adaware and Spybot S&D and run a scan at PCPitstop which came back that everything was fine.
