I just installed my pc with raid 5. Just trying it out... For my raid drivers to install correct i had to create an unattended install of windows xp x64 with nlite. Now when i want to change the download directory of firefox or utorrent i get this: In other applications like photoshop, 3dsmax or office the file browse window appears correct.
View 3 RepliesI downloaded a picture I wanted to use as my desktop scene to My Documents> My Pictures.It loaded OK.Control Panel>Display>Desktop> Browse>My Pictures opened OK,but, the pic I wanted did not show up. Rechecked My Pictures via My Docs and there it was. Trouble is I can't load to Desktop from there as it has to be from the Browse window. Why do have 2 My Pictures?I have rebooted and tried everything I could think of.The picture I want is a .swf file which I opened from an email.
View 8 Replies View RelatedWe have a portal project that embeds excel sheets into IFrames. Well, some of our clients are having issues with the excel file opening in excel instead of the IFrame. We found a fix by going into My Computer -> Tools -> Folder Options -> File Types, selecting the XLS file type, clicking the advanced button, and then checking the browse in same window check box. This works great. But we have one customer who's checkbox is disabled, and we can't figure out why. He's running xp pro sp2, and logged in as the administrator.

I have a few files mostly images where the file extension seems to be wrong. sometimes just renaming the extension to .jpg or .gif or .bmp works, But it's trial & error. Is there some kind of utility that'll open files and identify what type they really are, and rename them accordingly?

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy 'restore' has completely disappeared. I followed the advice given on in one of your forums, going to start/run/inf and then right clicking sr.inf and then install. I received a pop-up box asking for the file path (a path is already given, but it must not be correct) as well as a message stating I need to insert my xp service pack two cd and that I should then reboot. I did this, but I still receive the same pop-up and message. I don't know what path to type and obviously, when I rebooted, I didn't install anything. I tried to figure out how to extract just what I needed from the cd but I admit it, I'm a deer in the headlights.

I am using windows XP pro and all has been great. Suddenly, today I can no longer surf. All I get is page cannot be found. I have checked with the cable company and everything is fine on there end. under IPCONFIG I have correct address and dns servers. The cable company thinks it is a firewall issue on my end. I have windows firewall disabled and uninstalled all Norton products.

When i open any link with "open in new window" the new window is not full size screen window.Of course i dragged it by mouse many times and that should fix it later.It means it should be opened as it had been dragged,but that's never happened though i dragged it about a hundred time as a full screen size.What is the wrong here?

In normal mode, internet explorer will not display any web pages. However, if you try
to bring up any site (By IP, or URL) and let it sit there for 30 minutes, it will eventually. Then, once it brings up a single page, you can browe. BUT ONLY IF YOU ACTUALLY TYPE "HTTP://" AT THE START OF THE URL OR Click on a link on the page it finally brings up. Now, to make matters worse, it does not exhibit any of these problems in Safe Mode With Networking. In that mode, everything works perfect. I can browse with no lag what so ever, I can do just about anything.
I'm administering a heterogeneous TCP/IP-based network with Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows XP (2 computers), Linux, and SGI's IRIX. I have a problem with one of the Windows XP computers. lets call it Laptop.Laptop can see all of the other computers that put out Windows-accessible shares and can browse any folder that shows up in its own Network Neighborhood.

Everybody can browse Laptop's C-drive and E-Drive.
No one can browse either Laptop's main user's My Documents or the general Shared Documents folders.
The 'browse' and 'position' buttons in the desktop tag under display properties, have become Gray! now i cant 'stretch' or 'center' my wallpapers, nor can i change the wallpapers from there.
