Delete The History Of Those Searches
Jul 7, 2010I have been doing some searches for files on my machine running windows XP and I'd like to delete the history of those searches... is there a way to do this? I'm NOT computer literate.

I know how to delete history when you click "file" at the top left of the screen, but dont know how to delete history when you click "File", then "open". You will see "File name" almost at the bottom of the screen with a tick on the far right of the icon. If you click the tick you will see history.

download appeared, worried about what it was doing I unplugged the computer and rebooted. I started up IE and when I entered the search menu under the history toolbar the internet shortcut "what I searched" - google search could not be deleted I even ran a history cleaner and yet it was the only thing that remained in the history toolbar under the search menu.
When I attempt to open internet options the window flashes open and closed. If you blink you miss it. If I click on " Delete Browsing History" nothing happens. Everything else seems to be working. I have Zone Alarm running for virus, spyware, firewall. I scanned with Spybot and SAS.
View 1 Replies View Relatedim trying to customize Windows XP Pro to my liking very strictly and for some reason i just cannot delete the History and Temporary Internet Files folder, i 100% do not want them there but if i try delete them it comes up with History is a Windows system folder and is required for Windows to run properly. It cannot be deleted.iv'e tried booting into Linux and deleting it off their but when i booted back into windows it replaced them again, i also logged in as the SYSTEM user and deleted them but to no avail. I seriously do not want them folders their, and to my knowledge they ARE NOT required for windows to run properly.

When browsing the internet usually in a website when i go to click on something on the site (IE espn.com clicking on NFL News)I am brought to a Yahoo Search page. It started about 2 weeks ago and first the search page brought back results for UNDETERMINED, then a couple days ago it brought back results for BLLOCKEDDEFFERED. Now it is bringing back results for UNDETERMINED again. Nothing to my knowledge has been changed on the computer in terms of programs.

Ok my homepage is set to Yahoo.com and in the bar where you search , whenever you type a letter similar to something typed earlier it shows a list of all items searched with that letter or word. How can I stop it from doing this? I don't want to see list of all items searched

View 6 Replies View Relatedi have a problem with windows whenever i try to search a folder. i type in what i'm looking for but when i hit enter the page shows the standard "page cannot be found". at the top it says that interent explorer has restricted content that could access my computer. this is obviously a load of crap because all i'm trying to do is use the search function. it's not just when i try to search that it happens, it also happens when i try to get to "my network places" using the locations found at the side of the screen when i'm in my computer.

Get rid of that history. There is no good that can come of it. It will only take up space and allows any cleaver person to find out exactly what web sites you have visited.

If I do not delete IE7's history, Run history stays at reboot.I have searched quite a bit for a solution but just can't find any working solution and why my XP is doing this.I have another computer with XP Pro SP3 also and it doesn't behave in that manner at all.I have tried the solution HERE to no avail. I have Tweak UI and the option Clear document history on exit in the Explorer section is unchecked.I'm also not running any Cache Cleaner of any sort.
