I was just wondering if anyone could advise me how to get rid of previous searches on Google. Every time I go into Google it shows me every search I've ever made.. Is there a way of permanently deleting these..? Ta.

I accidently turned of that Quicksomething feature window that pops up the first time u open internet explorer and it remembers all the terms you have previously search for. like at google, next time u come back and start typing the thing u want to search for it will show a drop down list with al the things you ahve searched for

When browsing the internet usually in a website when i go to click on something on the site (IE espn.com clicking on NFL News)I am brought to a Yahoo Search page. It started about 2 weeks ago and first the search page brought back results for UNDETERMINED, then a couple days ago it brought back results for BLLOCKEDDEFFERED. Now it is bringing back results for UNDETERMINED again. Nothing to my knowledge has been changed on the computer in terms of programs.

View 4 Replies View Relatedi have a problem with windows whenever i try to search a folder. i type in what i'm looking for but when i hit enter the page shows the standard "page cannot be found". at the top it says that interent explorer has restricted content that could access my computer. this is obviously a load of crap because all i'm trying to do is use the search function. it's not just when i try to search that it happens, it also happens when i try to get to "my network places" using the locations found at the side of the screen when i'm in my computer.

I would like to delete a folder without deleting its contents. Copy, Paste and then deleting the folder with its' contents etc can work. But is there any way of getting it as a windows context menu? ie right-clicking and selecting delete folder but not contents.

One of the many things that I do, since I can't reinstall but rather have to work with what comes on the machine, is eliminate all accounts but one administrators account which I typically name "owner." To keep these machines safe from mischievious children and other would-be "messer-upers" on the sales floor, I password protect the screen saver. This also provides an opportunity for the salesperson to get involved. Anyway, when the password window opens, it still has the former owners name�the registerer�in that window. Isn't there a line in the registry listing that name? Can this be edited in the registry.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy PC has upon startup has reverted to state before a hard drive format that was done July 2007. I checked a restore point and only today's Oct 21 was there and the next previous month was not Sept 2008 but July 2007.
I tried booting in safe mode for the most recent configuration that worked but no change. All folders and files since july 2007 has disappeared.
I've recently formated my laptop, and in the other day i updated the internet explorer version (6) to the 7.
After that i restarted the computer and the IE is now on the previous version which is the 6. This happens every time after i make the update

Except when it stopped running during install. it did this about 5 times. And there were at least four versions of Java (TM) Updates 2, 3, 5, 7 each one averaging 114 MB. My question is: Can I delete Updates 2, 3 and 5 ? I don't know at all if each Java update is functioning based on the previous one. Can I live only with the last Update, the number 7 ? Or I am just sheltering a lot of space I need for other programs I would like to install.

Hitting restart, did nothing (in the program dialog) so I manually rebooted.Since then, I've tried to install Kaspersky, and Nero, and both tell me "A previous program requires a system reboot, please reboot". As of yesterday it shut itself down and after I entered my password, it would give me that message. I would choose "Run Windows normally" and it would go to the screen with the Windows logo with the loading bar underneath of it. The loading bar doesn't have the scrolling green light though, and it just sits there.

The system is working great and everything except one little annoyance that I can't seem to figure out, one of the old user profiles, which isn't even listed under the "User Accounts" is the only one listed in my documents and settings, I can't delete it when I go to Device Manager, the delete button becomes greyed out. The new account that I created is on the login screen when the computer starts but the old account isn't, also the new account isn't even listed in my documents. Does anyone have a solution for this as far as removing the old account?
View 12 Replies View RelatedOn my husband's computer windows xp SP2 I wanted to update Java to 6 version 1.7 so I tried to remove 6 version 15 but it wouldn't do anything. No error just wouldn't remove. So I removed it with windows installer cleanup utility. Then I downloaded the new version and it's not in add and remove programs. So I was going to remove it and re install it and I can't find it in the windows cleanup or in cc cleaner to remove it. I clicked on the coffee cup in the control panel and it says he has the newest version.
