a few hour ago i was playing a movie with real player then a message came up asking me to insert the serverice pack 2 disk or the comp will became unstable.because i dont have it i clicked cancel.the the comp begin to load some unknow program and became very slow. so i switched off the power . and now it kept restarting even if i try to enter safe mode.
It also say "Stop:C0000219 unknown hard error"
Getting a strange error in Dell Inspiron 9300, running some version of XP, and that's all that I know.
When you turn on his computer, you see the Dell startup-screen for a second, and then it automatically brings you to the prompt that says "We apologize for the inconvenience, but Windows did not start successfully." window. There are obviously 5 options: Safe Mode, SM with Networking, SM with Command Prompt, Last Known Good Configuration, and Start Windows Normally. Each one of those brings me to the blue screen that says:

I searched on other forums, and it seems that this is what people have done to fix this: either try to Repair Windows, reinstall Windows, manually replace ntdll.dll (if they can actually get into Windows, which I can't), or do something with their memory cards, I'm not sure what.
Are those approaches I listed correct? And 2nd, I don't want to have to mess with my friend's memory if I don't have to.I'm not too much of a tech person. I do, however, have my family's Windows XP Home Edition install CD with me.if I put that into his computer, and try to repair Windows, would that work?
As of yesterday my computer has been restarting on its own alot lately, I havnt installed anything new and I cant seem to figure out why. I usually send the error report to Microsoft in hopes that they might offer a fix. I have listed the error report below. I would appreciate any help you can offer. Other than this the computer seems to be working fine.

My computer restarts, now every 10ish minutes. Sometimes before then sometimes not for a couple hours. But it's gotten so bad now. Once my computer has restarted error messages come up saying " a serious error has occured", "windows/explorer/ etc had recovered a serious error" I've ran virus checks through nortan, and adware...everything comes up fine.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI created a mess (but I'm learning more each day), and after a week got it going at least, but on boot got messagae "primary hard disc drive 1 not found" which required clicking F1 to continue. I ended up reinstalling XP, got everything up and running, but still have the HD message at each boot. I've passed all of the diagnostics in Set-Up, and found nothing on any of the troubleshooting sites that helped. Set-up says: Primary Drive 0 - Hard Drive; Primary Drive 1 - Unknown Device; Secondary Drives 0 adn 1 are both CD-ROM Readers. Everything works just fine, but I'd like to figure the drive problem. I had to create a partition for the reinstall - had no choice.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have three (3) questions:1. When I'm closing down Windows XP (Home Edition), I continually receive an error showing "XtkU.exe" cannot. I have checked everywhere and cannot find out what this file is associated with. In addition I have gone through my system and purged all files associated with this executable from the registry. They pop right back in there with a system restart. I'm lost and confused now because I don't know what application uses this file.2. When closing down I receive the same Norton error message another user gets."ccaps.exe" at signoff. I will try and remove Norton to see if that works. 3. The user "quick switch" does not work any longer. I am not sure what is causing that either. Do you think it may be associated with the WtkU file?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm having some issues with my computer at the moment. It seems whenever I load an application from a CD/DVD, be it a game, installing or playing, or anything else, upon attempting to eject it after I'm finished, I get either:
A) the inability to open the disc tray again,
B) my computer restarts itself
or C) the computer shuts off, and i receive a BSOD stop error : 0x0000007E.
I report to microsoft every time, but so far to no avail. My graphics card burned out recently, and ever since, be it with my integrated adapter, or new graphics card, i have the formerly mentioned issues. I have reset the drivers, reinstalled them several times, checked the firmware of my optical drive, and checked my hdd for viruses, aswell as cleaning up my registry, but still i havent been able to solve the problem.
I have some sort of program running on the background of my computer that seems to be disturbing any kind of task I try to accomplish on my cpu. It seems to be running every 30 seconds or so for a brief moment and then repeats over and over again. Whenever I try to type, this program or virus clicks off the current window, in which I have to reposition my cursor again back to where it was originally. Even as I type now, I am having to click back onto this editor every 6 or 7 words. I have checked my task manager and cannot find any processes that are running since the only happens and causes a disruption for a brief second. This is very odd and seems to make any task that much more aggravating.

Thats when i checked for viruses and found i had one. My antivirus program is cheap so it detects it proceeds to say it removes it but doesnt.

I have reinstalled my system, both destructive and Partial, a number of times and still haven't got rid of them. Yesterday (11/19/07), after my last reload, my username and Administrator access rights were suddenly changed from the Owner/Administrator to just someone who has limited access. I don't know what my user name is because there isn't a Welcome screen.I haven't been able to find them under "Users" in the Control Panal. Unfortunately, the Control Panal itself disappeared as of last night.

I ran msconfig and looked at what she had going at startup, but only the necessary items were checked there. So I took a look at the services panel, using a list from blackviper.com to make sure her computer's settings matched up with those recommendation. However, one of the services listed isn't on the blackviper.com list: Winkcpw. Nor did I get any hits for the name of the service on either Google or using Yahoo search. I'm wondering if anyone here knows what the program is and whether it should be running at all.
