View 4 RepliesWhen I make a dvd my tower starts making a loud noise like the fans are blowing very fast when the program is at the transcoding part why has my pc all of a sudden got really hot? the werid thing is when i open task manager and then minimise it and then maximise it the fans slow down for about 50 seconds my computers only 6 months old and it never happend in the 1st few months.

My PC suddenly froze while I was using it so I turned it off for a couple of minutes. THen when I turned it back on, it started making beeping noises. There was also no start up screen, the monitor is just blank.
When I start up my cpu, it makes a really loud whirring noise, but after I am logged into Windows and after about 2 minutes, the whirring sound subsides. I'm not sure if there is anything wrong with my computer.... I'm extremely worried about that weird whirring sound.

After it shuts off, it makes a weird noise(like a high pitch then low pitch), it seems like its coming from the motherboard or something.I can't even turn it off or on using the power button so I have to pull the plug from the back of the tower and restart.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have some sort of program running on the background of my computer that seems to be disturbing any kind of task I try to accomplish on my cpu. It seems to be running every 30 seconds or so for a brief moment and then repeats over and over again. Whenever I try to type, this program or virus clicks off the current window, in which I have to reposition my cursor again back to where it was originally. Even as I type now, I am having to click back onto this editor every 6 or 7 words. I have checked my task manager and cannot find any processes that are running since the only happens and causes a disruption for a brief second. This is very odd and seems to make any task that much more aggravating.

Thats when i checked for viruses and found i had one. My antivirus program is cheap so it detects it proceeds to say it removes it but doesnt.

I have reinstalled my system, both destructive and Partial, a number of times and still haven't got rid of them. Yesterday (11/19/07), after my last reload, my username and Administrator access rights were suddenly changed from the Owner/Administrator to just someone who has limited access. I don't know what my user name is because there isn't a Welcome screen.I haven't been able to find them under "Users" in the Control Panal. Unfortunately, the Control Panal itself disappeared as of last night.

View 6 Replies View Relateda few hour ago i was playing a movie with real player then a message came up asking me to insert the serverice pack 2 disk or the comp will became unstable.because i dont have it i clicked cancel.the the comp begin to load some unknow program and became very slow. so i switched off the power . and now it kept restarting even if i try to enter safe mode.
It also say "Stop:C0000219 unknown hard error"
my work colleagues is having trouble with a slow-running computer i thought I'd look at her startup options and make sure there isn't something running that doesn't need to be. I ran msconfig and looked at what she had going at startup, but only the necessary items were checked there. So I took a look at the services panel, using a list from blackviper.com to make sure her computer's settings matched up with those recommendation. However, one of the services listed isn't on the blackviper.com list: Winkcpw. Nor did I get any hits for the name of the service on either Google or using Yahoo search. I'm wondering if anyone here knows what the program is and whether it should be running at all.

Here is my problem: I am trying to stream FLAC files from my laptop or desktop running XP and foobar2000 via usb to a Bryston BDA1 DAC then on to a preamp and 2 channel amp.I get these little popping noises at irregular intervals. Same thing happens with both my laptop and destop, but not with my wife's laptop. Did some research and others were saying to disable other usb devices on the usb bus, I went in the Device manager section and did that, plus killed some processes to no avail. Even disabled all wireless cards, etc..

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy problem is that despite downloading pretty much every possible sound driver on the Toshiba website that it says is meant to work for Windows XP, none of them seem to make the sound work. All I get in the place of sound is that obnoxious beeping noise. When I install the drivers, most of them state that a sound device was not detected but I am perfectly sure that I have a sound device because the sound worked amazingly well when I still had Vista, or they simply 'install' and just dissappear and have no obvious effect.
View 3 Replies View RelatedHP ZT3000 was working fine. after no major changes, hard drive made a few noises and a missing hal.dll error message appeared. I have tried knoppix, for a few times I was copying files to external hard drive but the transfer stalled. I have tried fixmbr, fixboot, and copying the ntldr and ntdetec files from recovery cd. One strange thing is that the file system is now listed as fat16. Is this data recoverable? I have backed up the system on the external but it was about 2 weeks ago. I would like to recover a few emails in the outlook pst file. Is the hard drive fried or did the boot.ini file become terribly corrupt?
