I use Office 2000. I think the latest big patch windows sent out. This was the one dealing with the Metafile Vulnerablity. Whenever, i click on a microsoft word document I get Windows Fax and Image viewer. The only way i can get it to open in word is to use this route. Right click the file>click on open with<choose Microsoft Word. This is just really annoying and i believe its related to the patch

Yet if I have Word open and click on the document it opens instantaneously. Similarly, when I right click on a document, photo, spreadsheet file, it takes what seems a long time for the menu (Open, Run as, Send to, Delete, etc..) to open.

It stops half way and another window pops up that says Installation error file not found. A required installation file SKU112.CAB could not be found. Original installation source required. If you installed Microsoft office standard edition 2003 over your computer network please browse to the installation source on your computer. Also a window popped up that says Microsoft word has not been installed for the current user. Please run setup to install application. I don't have the cd its lost. This just started doing this about a month ago. I can't open any files through microsoft office word or power point.
when i go to print a document on word it freezes and i have to close down word this also happens on other programs aswell including notepad. I have tried to go in to the control panel to sort it out but when i click on printer and faxes it just freezes and i have to close it again using the task manager.

View 9 Replies View RelatedMy fax printer driver must have become corrupted because the console said there was no printer driver installed. I went to Add Windows Components, added Fax again and nothing happened. Went to Printers/Add Printer and let the wizard add a fax driver and it came up with a Microsoft Office Document Image Driver on LPT1. Fax Console still complains there is no fax driver, so I'm assuming that's the wrong printer driver.I'd like to force the install of a printer driver but I don't know what port it's supposed to be on and where to go to look for the driver.

Up pops a box with a dozen or so of my regular programs so I though I will try microsoft word. I now know that was the wrong thing to do as all my pictures on my computer (hundreds) if clicked on Microsoft word opens AND THEN EVERTHING COMES UP IN XO/ JIBBERISH.i THINK ITS CALLED SCRIPT.The only way I can get the picture to open in the right program which is Nero is to right click mouse and point to open .It then directly opens in Nero.Last night we uninstalled Microsoft word and Nero to see if that helped and it did not.Lastly if email is sent with attachment when it is open it also come up through Microsoft word in gibberish however the picture is in the bottom prevue pane.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a work computer that came with Microsoft Word 2007 already installed on it, i did not recieve any product key or anything. it let me use it 50 times, now it's locked me out and i can't touch it, i tried activating it but i can't without a product key. I tried explaining the situation to the microsoft tech support guy and he just told me i had to buy a product key. I had one of my friends tell me that the same thing happened to him, and that it was some sort of glitch in the '07 office program. Apparently there is a way around it on the internet, but i can't find it and i am by no means tech savvy when it comes to computers...
View 5 Replies View RelatedThis has been happening for awhile now, but this is really bothering me now as I have been typing an essay that is due tomorrow and everytime I open it, especially when I scroll down or any movement of the page, the screeen becomes very fuzzy and blurry. I have XP PRO, and this only happens in Word, not while surfing the web. I know it has something to do with my cpu as I have tried 3 various monitors that I have and the problem still persits. View 13 Replies View RelatedI just did a clean install of XP Home on my mother? s Inspiron 1200, thinking it had pickup a virus or some kind of bug. It was very sluggish and was having a hard time booting up. Since I did the install the machine is acting a lot better, it boots faster & shuts off fine. But, after it gets warmed up, when you click on an item (Microsoft Word) on the menu bar, like edit to cut & paste, the shaded area jumps back and forth. It will jump back to file, then to format. The hotter the machine get the more this happens, then I have a hard time cutting the machine off, does anybody know what is going on? Is it a hardware problem or software problem?

View 6 Replies View RelatedHave Win2K/IE6...how do I delete unwanted menu items from the Right Click "Save Image As" menu? The number of items causes the menu box to be either top justified or bottom justified, depending on where the cursor is located when the right click button is used. I am therefore having to move the cursor all over the screen to chase the desired "save Image" command. Also, with IE6, several menu items have been added (over IE5)....but, I am NEVER going to "email picture", "print picture", nor "go to my pictures" from this menu box. I could delete 7 of these pesky items, if I knew how, thus making this a much more user friendly menu box.
