I associated all these files to windows picture viewer and i selected view->thumbnails, but the problem is that i cannot start this program.I tried with regsvr32 shimgvw.dll but it tells me load library("shimgvw.dll" ) failed. the system cannot find the specified file.

Whenever, i click on a microsoft word document I get Windows Fax and Image viewer. The only way i can get it to open in word is to use this route. Right click the file>click on open with<choose Microsoft Word. This is just really annoying and i believe its related to the patch

With Vista removed from my hard drive, well for some reason every time I boot my XP system I have to choose the XP system. If I do not make it before the 30 secons I get a message that the operating system is missing.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have started to rebuild my desktop as it has become slow. I purchased the PC with windows XP professional and have the sticker in on the box with the license key. However, I used a Windows Genuine Advantage Kit for Windows XP professional disk to rebuild. When it asked me for the Product Key I entered the code on the chassis but it says this is not valid. I received an email with the Product Key for WGA disk but I do not have the email anymore with the yellow product key although the WGA box does have the Certificate of Authentication on it.c, how do I get another copy of the email with the Product key or get to a point where the product key.

I just sent a fax & when I tried to view it, fax console opened adobe photoshop instead of fax viewer. I installed adobe a few months ago & this is the 1st fax I have sent since then. APS is not clear & I don't like it for this function. I prefer windows FV. How do I restore the viewer to its original target (FV)?

(It was before the format).I have typed in "Export Pictures from CD to My Pictures folder" without the quotes and I get a list of links pertaining to CD recording errors and other things like that. I did right click on a picture in Drive E (my CD-RW) just to see what would come up and I noticed that on the Send To menu that these pictures can be sent to the desktop.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have taken a series of pictures on different days and downloaded them into a folder in My Pictures. I need to put them in a sequence so I right clicked each picture and re-named it as follows: 001jpg, 002jpg and so on for 100 pictures. In view, I selected arrange icons by modified and all the pictures moved to the sequence I wanted. All is well and good until I copied the folder to a CD. All the pictures reverted to their original sequence instead of the sequence I put them in.
How can I copy the folder with the pictures in the sequence I put them in? Whenever I open the picture file to look at that folder, they are always in the sequnce I put them in
I have NO CLUE if this is some virus or something i got while trying to remove adwear or when downloading something off the internet, or whether it was my own mistake or something that wasn't done correctly... yeah.. I tried to switch disks in the middle of the process. but after crashing the computer and making it unable to boot I was forced to do a repair with the wrong disk and complete the upgrade with it. The HP recovery utility then partially ran, but disk 2 is missing from my recovery cd's. because that is not what I wanted to do. I tried booting the recovery console and running FIXMBR, but that didn't work either. I looked at the drive with Knoppix. It shows the HP recovery partition and also shows a partition that is hidden. View 2 Replies View RelatedThis will sound really like a really stupid thing to have done, but basically i followed a troubleshooting article on the microsoft website to try and fix an error on my PC, (every time i shut down i get a big blue screen thing). Part of what it suggested was removing a number of files from the registry. I did this but unfortnatly i seem to have just made things worse. The error message still appears when i shutdown but now i seem to have deleted something needed for my CD drive as this now says that the regisry is corrupted in its error box. Is there any way of getting the files i deleted back ( i did not make any backups).I am running windows 2000 and the files i deleted were Cdralw2k and Cdr4_2k
View 14 Replies View RelatedI made a mistake when I moved into a house that doesn’t have high speed Internet. I signed up for netzero to get me through the months that I will not have high speed. I installed their software then their software downloaded some more software that is still locking my computer up on occasion, even after I have uninstalled their software. It doesn't lock it up totally it just doesn't let me run any other programs and it doesn't let me log off (even through CTRL ALT DEL). It also runs a program in called ipconfig.exe that never seems to finish running

When previewing some images I have stored in My Pictures, I find when using the 'previous' and 'next' buttons I am able to pull up the next or previous pictures as I should. But when I e-mail an image to myself and then use the 'next' or 'previous' buttons, I begin to get images from web sites I have recently visited even if it is just my home page. While scanning my home page, for instance, I collect dozens of images in a matter of minutes.The only change I have made recently is a download of info from a digital camera disc to enable me to store pictures from my new camera.
I did a system restore to a couple of days before that download but I'm still copying dots, dashes, logos and pictures or frames from videos.
Whenever I try to view the Log, I get the top screen with the three optons, but I only get the bottom screen no-matter which of the three I click on, is it corrupt or something? Why can't I get the Event Log to come up?

When I use the Windows Picture and Fax Viewer, I can rotate clockwise/counter-clockwise and auto save on the spot.any ideas why? The properties an ALL jpg's are not read-only, File Sharing is still set to "allow network users to change files" - are there advanced sharing properties I should look into or do you think this is just another annoying MS bug? Very frustrating.
