Opening Microsoft Office Word 2003: Window Installer Installing MS Word Feature?
Oct 5, 2009When I try to open Microsoft Office Word 2003 a window pops up that says window installer then it says installing microsoft office word feature. It stops half way and another window pops up that says Installation error file not found. A required installation file SKU112.CAB could not be found. Original installation source required. If you installed Microsoft Office Standard edition 2003 from cd please insert your cd.
If you installed Microsoft office standard edition 2003 over your computer network please browse to the installation source on your computer. Also a window popped up that says Microsoft word has not been installed for the current user. Please run setup to install application. I don't have the cd its lost. This just started doing this about a month ago. I can't open any files through microsoft office word or power point.

Yet if I have Word open and click on the document it opens instantaneously. Jan 6, 2009Iam anable to open any MS websites either with IE7 or FireFox. Able to open other websites. I have tried adding "s"to the "http"protocol,but no luck. Then went to internet options and unticked the "tsl"option in Advanced tab,again no luck! Thus iam not able to manually download updates.The XP pro has SP2 and SP3 installed. All the drivers are in place.To add to my woes ,SAS PRO and MBAM are not getting updates too!To survive i have installed AVG 8 Anti-virus and it too is not getting updated! I have turned off the windows firewall and the Comodo Firewall Pro. The KIS 2009 disk is not installing as it is not being accessed by the dvd drive( please see my post in "General security"). When i run the diagnostic tool--i get the message that the PC is unable to access the FTP and the http and https are fine!Please ask for any further info' which i've failed to mention

Oct 13, 2007About 2 weeks ago I went to open an attachment and it said i needed a different program to open this. Up pops a box with a dozen or so of my regular programs so I though I will try microsoft word. I now know that was the wrong thing to do as all my pictures on my computer (hundreds) if clicked on Microsoft word opens AND THEN EVERTHING COMES UP IN XO/ JIBBERISH.i THINK ITS CALLED SCRIPT.The only way I can get the picture to open in the right program which is Nero is to right click mouse and point to open .It then directly opens in Nero.Last night we uninstalled Microsoft word and Nero to see if that helped and it did not.Lastly if email is sent with attachment when it is open it also come up through Microsoft word in gibberish however the picture is in the bottom prevue pane.

Mar 7, 2004This has been happening for awhile now, but this is really bothering me now as I have been typing an essay that is due tomorrow and everytime I open it, especially when I scroll down or any movement of the page, the screeen becomes very fuzzy and blurry. I have XP PRO, and this only happens in Word, not while surfing the web. I know it has something to do with my cpu as I have tried 3 various monitors that I have and the problem still persits. Apr 12, 2007I just did a clean install of XP Home on my mother? s Inspiron 1200, thinking it had pickup a virus or some kind of bug. It was very sluggish and was having a hard time booting up. Since I did the install the machine is acting a lot better, it boots faster & shuts off fine. But, after it gets warmed up, when you click on an item (Microsoft Word) on the menu bar, like edit to cut & paste, the shaded area jumps back and forth. It will jump back to file, then to format. The hotter the machine get the more this happens, then I have a hard time cutting the machine off, does anybody know what is going on? Is it a hardware problem or software problem?

Prior to the upgrade I saved all my important docs to an external Buslink hard drive. Now when I try to view my stuff it says I need Word 2000. When I put the disk in it asks for the numbers off the jewel case, I don't have these as it came as bundled software when I originally bought the computer. Compaq is being of no help!! I can open excel itself, but just no files. old or new.When I open Word it says "The file filename is unavailable" Then when I close it, it is telling me that "The file normal already exists. do you want to replace it?" if i click yes it goes away but still wont open my file next time. If i click no it tries to save in to the TEMPLATES FILE under NORMAL. My Norton Antivirus has also taken away my privileges so I can edit the updates and Norton Internet Security says that the file cannot be found when I click on the desktop icon. The Norton Internet Security icon has disappeared off my task bar. I've been trying to download updates for windows, but it wont alow me too
