When I click on Yahoo Mail it just goes to a blank page and acts like it is going back and forth through 2 pages. It never gets me to a sign in screen. I go to another computer and try it and it works fine. You can hear clicking like it is going through pages back and forth.
View 7 RepliesI often right click in IE and select Create Shortcut.It puts a shortcut and my desktop to that page. This mysteriously stopped working. The icon appears on my desktop with the page title and all, but when I double click it, it just opens up my browser and loads about:blank.In the shortcut file's properties, and then gives me the file's size, location,etc.but it doesn't list the URL anywhere. It's just getting on my nerves having to copy a page's URL to a text file on my desktop if I want to remind myself of something.

I like Excite as my home page,but am having trouble loading it on the XP machine. I have checked these forums and Googled it, but can't seem to find an answer to my particular problem. The problem occured about 2 weeks ago when i found that that my Mum's company mailroom website suddenly stopped being accesable. When I try to access it a ''this page cannot be displayed'' page comes up briefly and then is replaced by ''Dell search'' page. View 7 Replies View Relatedi have a network at home, with two wired pcs and a wireless laptop connected to the network. we all had the internet until i went onto a website on my computer (one of the wired ones) whereupon loads of popups came up. it took me a couple of minutes to close all of the popups, and when i returned to the desktop, the wallpaper had been replaced by an internet shortcut to a site advertising a spyware blocker. i then found out how to remove it in the desktop settings box. that was fine, except i couldnt get onto the internet afterwards, and programs such as msn messenger and half life 2's steam did not log on either. however, the other wired and wireless computers could still access the net etc................

Hooked it up to my HP 722 printer, set it up, made it the default printer. When I go to print, a page comes out blank. I tried Word, Notepad, Wordpad, and still nothing. It does however print from the internet with no problem.

The fax preview shows the page I scanned plus a blank page. It also faxes out the extra blank page. Epson tech said it was XP, so I downloaded a trial version of another fax software. This time the fax preview showed and faxed just one page as it should.

View 6 Replies View RelatedComputer boots up normally and everything runs fine until I try to right click on a file or folder, anywhere on the drive. The first time I do it I get the context menu like I am supposed to get. the next time I click on a file or folder the screen goes blank for a half a second and then comes back on and has to reload the programs in my systray. I have already run my nortons AV and it finds nothing. Can't complete a scan from trend micro but it doesn't say it found anything (hangs prior to summary page). pandas active scan finds nothing. Adware finds nothing. Also if I highlight a folder or file and push the delete key, have the same results. Only deletes every other time the key is pushed.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen boot up the computer it opens up to a black page with white writing starting out with. The System is DELL Inspiron 6000 XP Laptop. It goes on for a few more paragraphs. You have options to start XP SAFE MODE, LAST KNOWN CONFIGERATION AND MORE. When ever you try to go into safe mode or any other option it just goes right back to the black page with white writing. The only thing different is, updated JAVA and that is when the problem started. He also mention a blue screen but I havent seen it yet. I know there is a conflict but I am unable to more forward at all to fix it.

I try to go to a site and the address bar stays at "http:///". I tried repairing my Windows 2000 installation and it didn't help at all. Now it's reverted back to IE5 and Outlook Express 5. This had happened just for Yahoo games, but now it's for most links. My home page is www.yahoo.com and it often is not displayed when I start my PC or use the Home icon. I get the message "The page cannot be displayed." The only thing I remember changing about a month ago was an Internet option to display graphics instead of getting the boxes with the red X's. Also, now any advertising on a web page always says "The page cannot be displayed." and nothing else is shown, except for a long error explanation.

Otherwise the computer seems to start up normally and operate as usual. Something has changed and I don't know what the problem may be.
