I cant remove Bitdefender from my computer. Theres a broken link to the uninstall. The program still works, but it isnt in the Program files directory. I cant seem t ouninstall it. I want to put in the latest version of bitdefender, but it wont install unless i remove the older version. HOw can i remove the program?
View 1 RepliesWell I downloaded a program and my Bitdefender picked it up as a virus I knew it wasn't because my friend had downloaded it from the same place and it worked. So I closed Bitdefender and unzipped it again used the program and when I turned my Pc on the next day Bitdefender came back on and saw the 'Viruses' So I'm now stuck with 5 files on my Desktop that I cannot delete (two files are from the program and .exe and a .dll) the other one file is a text document which I was scripting for a game I am making and when I went to save it Bitdefender said it was a highly dangerous virus.

The last system i put together was an old p3-1000 along time ago. ive bought a customized system and had it delivered recently, installed windows and instantly started hitting blue screens, ive spent 3 nights removing drivers and reinstalling, downclocking, everything and im still getting random bsod during even the most mundane activities. my cpu is running around 50c and my gpu's are both 50c idle and 60c underload, so i dont think heat is an issue. ive attached some mini-dumps, could somebody take a look and try to help me out? back in the day i would be all over this issue, but have been out of touch and i'm way behind the ball lately, i realize that getting 3-4 different excuses from windows to dump cant be a good sign. any help would be appreciated. BTW the last system i put together is 6-7 years old, still runs and not a single blue screen.

It goes on for a few more paragraphs. You have options to start XP SAFE MODE, LAST KNOWN CONFIGERATION AND MORE. When ever you try to go into safe mode or any other option it just goes right back to the black page with white writing. This connection randomly pops up to attempt to connect when surfing via FF1.0I have attempted to remove the regedit PCI section, but it disallows removal via "no access to removal". Even attempted them in safe mode.I need to have this removed as it is massively annoying. Maybe most important issue. Ran Belarc, said it is missing 40 critical updates ! There is a Windows Update Shield that says it has a download to install. KB888162,it detects if SP2 is properly installed, it is NOT.Wants me to uninstall SP2. When I go to uninstall, I get all these, cannot copy files.My question is, is it OK to click cancel on these cannot copy, since I cant seem to do anything else anyway.

I couldn't remove it on a conventional way, using the add/remove tool, so I removed it from my windows startup list, and then physically removed the folder from my HDD, and then used PC Tools Registry Mechanic thinking that it would do the trick,but it didn't. There is no Change/Remove button in Add/Remove Programs but the program is there, 150 MB, and the file suggested on the HP website for uninstalling older printers from XP produces a message that it's "unsupported" can't remember exact verbiage, been a while since last tried. Even reinstalled in the hopes that a message would come up to the effect "this program is already installed, do you want install to remove it prior to completing this install," but it just installs the printer again with a number after it ...
