"Pirate Copy Error"
May 7, 2006A software check apparently. It says my copy is a pirate copy when I know it isn't. Is there anyway I can remove this wretched update?

Change Product Key-Original Legal Key But Pirate Cd?
May 4, 2010I'm having trouble changing my product key. when I upgraded from 98 to XP pro,it was with a pirate copy of XPpro CD. However, I very soon saw the error of my ways and legalised my software online by purchasing a licence with which came a new product key. This was all done online and automatically. Now, here's the thing. Due to an old and failing C drive, I have installed a new hard drive with the intention of transfering all of my files over to it before the old one gives up completely and I lose everything.
The problem is, although my existing OS and product key are completely legal, the only system CD I have is my old pirate one which will not load using the legal key.I have loaded it using the old key with the intention of changing it afterwards but, having followed the process to change it, when I run Jelly Bean Keyfinder, it shows the old key.I have also tried a microsoft windows verification and it confirms that it is not a legal licence.The process I used to change the key was: Change the OOBE Timer number in regedit, Run c:windowssystem32oobemsoobe.exe /a and run change product key, reboot and run c:windowssystem32oobemsoobe.exe /a again which tells me that windows is already activated.

And there are errors in movies that I have ripped (because I either forget to put them back in the case or they get lost) some movies and whenever I try to move the video file (ripped int a AUDI0_TS file and a VIDEO_TS file) I have an error box where the title of the window in the blue bar says "Error Copying File or Folder" and in the window (the gray part) it says "Cannot copy VTS_01_2" Data error (cyclic redundancy check).". And then I click the "OK" button and it stops the transfer. The VTS_01_2 is sometimes replaced with whatever file that cannot be transferred or that is causing the problem. I used DVDShrink and DVD43 to back them up. I am running Windows XP sp3 and transferring them onto a 300 GB hard drive.

Feb 13, 2009I get this cyclic redundancy check error when I try to copy files from a DVD-RW onto my hard drive. I burnt said DVD about two years ago using Cyberlink DVD Solution Power2Go. I get this error with mulitiple DVDs, but not all of them (I've got five and I get this error with only three). Also, I get the error with some files, but not others (on the same DVD). Mar 1, 2005I am having odd problems with XP on my laptop. I installed XP on a new Hard Drive a few weeks ago. I then added SP 1 and SP 2. I downloaded all the hot fixes. I installed from the Dell site as much as I could. ( The original OS was windows ME) Now the System Restore does not work. It goes through the gyrations then comes back and says "system not restored". When I click on the Help or restore settings nothing happens. I cleared the restore points last week and set a new restore point. When I tried it it worked fine. I went back to check this week and it didn't work again. Other problems with mouse installation, USB settings, and odd start up and shut down problems makes me think that there is corruption in windows. I put the Windows XP CD in to see if I could fix some of these problems. I thought maybe reinstalling basic Windows without reformatting would fix the problem. A warning came up and said the copy of windows in my machine is newer than the one on the disk and if I continued I would lose all settings. I assume it means SP1 and SP2. Can I fix this without starting all over again? Also would it be possible to partition my HD and put a new copy of XP on the partition; then transfer from the old copy?

I reinstalled XP-SP2, Office, Norton, the printer and scanner and my digital camera software package. All were updated and working perfectly until Sunday. I booted up the machine only to get a warning that says One of your disks may have errors let the computer reboot itself (which it will do repeatedly, stuck in a reboot loop) or you can hit any key to ignore this warning. You have only ten seconds to read all this and make a decision.
Once the computer boots up, everything seems to work as normal except for system restore. I tried to restore to the day after I reformatted and installed everything and all I get is an error saying Cannot restore to that point, please choose another point to restore tooor something to that effect.
