May 2, 2006In windows XP Pro. Error message: there is no disk in drive Please insert disk. (Refering to A drive). this happened after trouble with an old cable. Replaced the cable and this message pops up on boot.

The number of different bytes is proportional to the lenght of the original. The size of the copy is correct. Position and value of the different bytes vary between each copy.

Sep 28, 2006I have a problem with understanding the differences between these words (actions), when I use Retrospect,( a backup program,) I cannot read any files since the backup file turns into a huge something. When I backup, I mean I copy my files from one drive to an external drive and I can always restore them or copy them to another computer. These are for my files.
When I want to re-install a program, I take the original disk or the zip file I downloaded, stored on CD or another external hard drive.

Jan 5, 2009not an emergency but i wann'a address it b4 it progresses. noticed a sluggish behavior on this xp, sp3 o/s. after a child had kind'a hogged the unit all last week playing games & watching Internet.i did a disk clean-up, del temp files, defraged, ran spybot. i just looked @ "starup" & "svcs" list in msconfig.everything's checked so i need to know what i should keep checked that would be imperative ?it's taking too darn long to load during startup & huge delays in response time.

CD Rom Drives Error Please Insert A Disk Into Drive
Jan 14, 2007When I want to move something to, or download anything to My CD drives I cannot get past the message "please insert a disk into drive (which ever)". Neither drive will recognize that there is a empty disk in the drive. I've tried different media and various makes of CD's and DVD.'s. I can burn a disk in the Cd/DVD
drive using "Nero". And both drives will open if there is data, music, or pictures on the disk in either drive, but I cannot open a blank empty disk unless it is in conjunction with something I'm doing with Nero.
There are no yelow symbols in device manager. And I have uninstalled both IDE channels that the optical drive is on and on reboot win 2000 reinstalled them automatically. I have updated the firm ware for each drive. Replaced the USB cable for the external drive and before I reloaded the updated firm ware I uninstalled both drives and reinstalled with the updated firmware. My three malware/spyware
programs have been run as has both of my virus programs.

Mar 14, 2008I am trying to copy some files to a CD Disk, so that I can open them on a different computer. I have put a disk in the drive, highlighted the file, clicked on "send to", and I get the message: "Please insert a disk into Drive E (or F, whichever I happen to try it with)".The drives won't recognize that there is a blank CD. If I put in an audio CD or a DVD, it recognizes it, and plays it fine. It's just the blank ones that are giving me a problem. I have tried several different brands of CD . . . same result . . . Jul 7, 2008I am trying to help a friend with their laptop. It is a fairly new Dell laptop (about 2 years old) running Windows XP. They don't know if one of there kids downloaded something with a virus or what caused the issue. I have never dealt with this sort of issue before. When trying to boot the computer, one receives the following error after the Windows XP splash screen: "The application or DLL C:WINDOWSsystem32DNsapI.dll is not a valid Windows Image. Please check this against your installation diskette."

Jan 8, 2007Man, my computer for the last two weeks have been crashing like an emo. I mean, when I play GTA: San Adreas, in 20 minutes, I get a BSOD with a stop error. When I put hardware acceleration to full, in a half an hour, I get a BSOD with a similar error. Believe me, I got three kinds of errors, and some were from different time. I believe the problem either came from the either the PSU, new 512 mb of ram, old 512, CPU, system board, or the graphic card. I'll try to post the error as best as I can. So, is there a solution to this?
Error Message: STOP 0x000000EA THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER (Q293078) This is one of them, but there another one with KMODE that I can't seem to remember. Also, sometimes, after it tries to recover from a serious error, the computer shuts down during the bootup before I can choose which XP version I can choose.
Also, I hate to say this, but I'm not using a legit windows copy sp1, but I have updated to sp2.
