Copy Image From Website - Cant Read It?
May 25, 2009When I try to copy an image from a web page to My Documents folder it saves it as .ART and my WinXP cannot read it. How can I copy this successfully?

Cut And Paste Image From A Website
Aug 11, 2006I'm not sure why I am no longer able to cut an image from a website (I use Mozilla Firefox) and paste it to my email (Incredimail). I haven't done it in a while and I don't think I changed any settings. I used to be able to do it and now nothing shows up on my email when I try to paste. I also have Word and the picture doesn't come up either, just an empty box.

Mar 24, 2007I'm trying to copy avi files from my dvd rom to hardisk but as it copies a file 3 quarters of the way it stalls, then after a very long while error reading I/O or something, but when I try on a nother computer the cd is fine, my rom playing up with me, so I try it in my cd writer and does read any files on the cd, it appears to be empty but it has files?! why is this happening only on my cd drives and not the other computers?

Aug 22, 2009I turned on my computer today and everything's messed up. I'm running windows XP on a Sony Vaio (about 6 yrs. old). I have 2 separate CD drives, and my computer won't recognize them. Sometimes when I restarted it'd recognize one of them. When I'm in the BIOS screen it only shows 1 CD drive. I can't copy or backup files; I wanted to backup so I could revert back to factory settings. I also can't install or uninstall anything. My anti-virus program (McAfee) says it has updated, but when I run a scan it says my definitions are 5 months out of date. It suddenly takes a really long time to boot up.

Sep 28, 2006I have a problem with understanding the differences between these words (actions), when I use Retrospect,( a backup program,) I cannot read any files since the backup file turns into a huge something. When I backup, I mean I copy my files from one drive to an external drive and I can always restore them or copy them to another computer. These are for my files.
When I want to re-install a program, I take the original disk or the zip file I downloaded, stored on CD or another external hard drive.

Nov 6, 2005I have four computers, three on windows XP and one on Linux. All are connected to the internet via a D Link DI-704. I had to reformat and reload one of my computers yesterday with windows XP and then proceeded to set up the networking. I will call the windows computers A, B and C. I reformatted A. Having run the networking wizard I can now from A read C but not B. B will not let A or C in. I need permission from the administrater. There is no administrater on any computer. C can read A but not B. B can read A and C. Does anybody know what is going on?

I have tried twice and received failures about my HD having bad sectors OR locked sectors. I ran check disc with repair and did not find any problems. Re-ran check disc from the boot disc that came with the application and found no problems with the disc. Tried again for a backup and received the same error. I am thinking it is one of the programs I have loaded has a locked sector or one of my processes that loads during boot is the problem?

May 3, 2006So two days ago my computer suddenly decides that when I arrive back home it would want to start running like a win 95. Thus, I promted to shut it down. Once it arrived to the loading screen after the reboot nothing occurred. Feb 1, 2006There is a website I use at work that is a State Government database. The site will start to load but it stops. On the left side would be a menu that would load normally that is Java. It does not load so the database is unavailable. The site tells you to disable pop up blockers which i have. I had norton on the computer a while back and the only way i could get into this website then was to disable Norton. This current problem started when I loaded the AOL Security. Even with AOL security and all firewalls disabled still can not access the site. So i removed AOL security and loaded AVG and Zone Alarm in its place. Still can not get into the site with those disabled.

Sep 21, 2007For the last couple of weeks I haven't been able to access www.bankofamerica.com. Seems all other website are fine. I know it is working because I can access it through my laptop that is connected through the same router and modem. Here is how my network is set up:
-I have DSL with a static IP (I've tried using from the 5 available and none work).
-For a router I use a Sonicwall TZ 170 that is assigned one of the static IP's from the 5 available.
-I use a Linksys WRt54G wireless router as a wireless access point with DHCP turned off (my desktop is connected straight to the Sonicwall).
The only glimmer of light that I have seen is Anonymizer (www.anonymizer.com). I downloaded the trial and when it is running I can access www.bankofamerica.com. When I check my IP at www.ipchicken.com it reports another IP other than my static IP which is what the Anonymizer does, but I don't understand why I would be able to access the site. My static IP can't have been blocked because I can access the BoA site using the laptop and the static IP.
Red X When Visit A Website
Aug 8, 2005I try to go to Roadrunner's speed test and all I get is Red Xs. My main PC gets the site correctly. This started when I upgraded to ZA Ver. 6, so I uninstalled V 6 and went abck to ver. 5. It appears that all settings in ZA are the same for both PCs but only one shows the site properly.?
