I recently built a new Gaming PC and im frequently having blue screen and the system crashes.
The windows XP pro PC crashes almost twice a day, and there is no special scenario to make so that it crashes. the PC crashed while playing games, browsing the internet, or chating...
My laptop has started to freeze at times,then the screen would blackout then appear with a black screen with a blue box inthe middle giving BOOT DEVICE OPTIONS Hard Disk Drive, CD-ROM/DVD, Floppy Disk Drive, LAN Boot it froze blacked out and now keeps going to this option page ,where as before if you turn off then on it rectified itself.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've been having this problem with my Dell Lattitude D505 Laptop where I put it on standby, and then about 10 seconds after taking it off standby, I get a blue error screen telling me the system crashed. It mentions on the screen something about BIOS memory. Looking through some other posts, I have seen mention of a correlation between this screen and BIOS. does anyone think that this BIOS memory thing is in fact the problem? How do I resolve anything that deals with this BIOS memory? The help section on my computer just defines what BIOS is, it doesn't state where I can find it on my comp.

When I try to go on the internet I get directed to a Yahoo search of whatever I entered into the address bar... and any links clicked bring me to random pages. At first it would not boot at all (I think I fixed that it will boot now) But after it runs for a few minutes it goes to a blue screen with vertical lines. There is no error message just the lines. My wife rebooted and got a blue screen that seemed to be running a fix program??? It worked for a few hours, however now upon reboot all I get is a blank screen with a flashing bar in the upper left corner.

We bought another E-Machines computer (T6212) I networked the 2 with a Linksys Wireless - G Broadband Router. After that I loaded System Mechanic5 on both computers. After running a scan on the T2825, it told me that the hard drive needed to be de-fragged so I did it. Then, few days later, the T2825 started having problems when running programs on it. It would freeze up and the only way to shut it down was to disconnect the main power. After plugging it back in and turning the power on, it froze up just trying to open IE6.
View 14 Replies View RelatedAll seemed well until trying to render video projects using Pinnacle Studio 11.1, when I would get random freezes or black screens with the pc being unresponsive, requiring power down (5 seconds holding the button) or reset.After some time on Studio related forums I bought more RAM recommended from Crucial. No difference. I bought a new video card. No difference.I defragged, updated drivers, updated bios. no difference.I then started experimenting with Prime95 torture test, Memtest86+, PassMark's Burn-In Test and Windows Memory Diagnostic with the following results:Memtest86+ completed one pass ok. Have not yet left it running for longer.Prime95 runs overnight with no errors when testing large FFT's so far. It produces the black screen crash overnight on small FFT testing but was running ok for over 2 hours to start with.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI formatted my hd and reinstalled windows. However, after I finished installing all the drivers the system was running pretty sluggish. Also I have no been able to get an anti-virus program running. Everytime I try to install one, after I reset the comp, it freezes after the welcome screen. Actually I can move the mouse around but it won't finish loading up. I ended up reformating again, I installed all the drivers, it ran fine for a little bit, I created a restore point, I installed a virus scan, and same happened again. Also, the system restore kept turning off after every restart. Now i'm in safe mode and can't even undo the virus scan installation. I don't get any kind of errors, it just won't work. Previously the computer ran in this exact setup for about 6 months w/ no problems.

It runs XP. when i start the computer, it will either shut down after the windows loading screen, shut down after the motherboard maker screen, or shut down as soon as i power up. I buit it, but this is the first time ive done anything like this before, and i dont know much about the workings of the insides yet.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Dell Inspiron 2650 laptop on boot-up consistently gives a blue screen with ERROR (0X000000ED (0X81ACA988, 0XC0000006,0X00000000,0X00000000). I have read most of your fixes BUT in my case no matter what I do it ALWAYS boots to this screen. Trying to boot to Safe Mode results in a list of drivers prefixed by ?multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)c:windowsdriver.sys etc The machine will not boot from Floppy or CD and I?ve tried every combination of boot sequence under the F12 menu. In the BIOS it will not allow me to change any relevant settings, only the ?system date?, ?system time? and ?quiet boot?.and I cannot select the dropdown menu items either. Booting under Normal Startup, I see the Windows Logo and all that, but then the blue screen appears. I?ve tried removing the hard disk to get it to boot to floppy, removing the battery (which is totally dead), memory module, etc. Only thing left I think is to sling it in the Caribbean Ocean and go drink a bottle of rum.

beginning dump of physical memory dumping physical memory to disk: and counts up to 100 then the computer restarts. i was able to get into safe mode to try a system restore but when the computer restarted it never finished the install (it actually gave me the confirmation that the restore was successful while i was doing a repair install later on) i have tried going through the windows install disc repair utility and doing a chkdsk /p and a chkdsk /r upon doing /r it froze at 53 percent and did not move (i left it for a good 4 hours the first time before restarting it.. and then over night the second time.. and both times it never passed 53 percent............
when I turned on my computer and got the blue screen of death, so I restarted my PC. Then a black screen came up saying "Windows could not start beacuse the following file is missing or corrupt : windowssystem32configsystem."
You can attempt to repair this file by putting the winxp cd in etc...
Now when i turn on my computer there is just a black screen showing, with nothing at all on it.
Any ideas?
I have a celeron/p4 machine with 256 RAM and 160 G Hard Disk. Well i installed a service pack 2 for xp. After installing my screen freezed so i restarted the pc and I got a blue screen. What can i do please?

I know i can restore to new but i will have lost so much information that it would take about 3 months to retain it all back. It says it can not find operating system. The error stated that I should run Chkdsk and then proceeds to restart and bring me to the Windows boot selection screen (safe mode, last known good configuration, normally). No matter which choice I pick, it always leads to the BSOD then restarts. Since this is getting me nowhere fast, I want to just format and reinstall windows. I do not have my recovery CDs, and when I enter the BIOS to change the boot sequence I cannot change it so the CD drive is above the hard drive in priority. The reason it gives me in the bios is that "All items on this menu cannot be modified in user mode. If any items require changes, please consult your system supervisor. Any ideas on how I can boot off the cd and reinstall windows from scratch?

what i've tried:
boot to Last Known Good Configuration - resulting in the same blue screen
boot to Safe Mode / Safe Mode with networking / Safe Mode with comman prompt - resulting in blank (black) screen with "Safe Mode" in the corners and moveable mouse test the hardware (hard drive / memory etc.) via build in PC Doctor - all seems to be working
i am able to use bootable XP CD from other machine to get into Recovery Console
i am able to boot to simple live XP using BartPE-XPE usb key and access the hard drive
Toshiba Satellite running on windows XP
When I start the computer, it asks if for the choice of Safe Mode, w/ Networking, w/Command Prompt or Normally.
I've tried them all and if I try it normally, it won't get past the XP loading screen. It's loading and then it flashes a blue screen for a second and then restarts the computer again.
I tried pressing F8 at boot and selected 'Disable automatic restart on system failure' and this is what I get

View 3 Replies View RelatedI couldnt start up windows. It would hang at the windows loading screen and go no further. So I was told to try a repair-install. And thats where even more trouble has started. So I started to repair-install. During the Windows Install setup, it gets almost to the point of being completed, but gave me a blue screen error STOP message at around the "18 minutes left" mark. During "Registering components". It would do this every time at the same spot. So I searched a bit about how to solve the problem. One suggestion I found on the interwebs was to try it with only one stick of ram installed, I have four overall at 2gb. So I tried that, next time I boot up to the comp, it loads up the bios, and then goes to the black windows loading screen with the loading bar, then starts with a blue screen saying "Setup is being restarted" So I figure its restarting my windows installation since it never was completed, after that message, the screen goes black with a cursor, and stays that way forever. I immediately put all the ram back in, and no luck, same thing. I tested each individual ram stick, same thing, just goes black. So now, I can't even seem to re-install windows. Did my hard drive just crap out? Some hardware issue? Im already thinking about buying a new fresh hard drive, installing windows on there, and just moving all my files from the old hard drive over to the new one. Though that would be a pain, I really want to save my current drive! And all the data on it.

But after reading it i think this is a different problem, so, here goes: I recently bought a new graphic card: Radeon all-in-wonder x1800xl. Installed it on a clean system (did a reformat before i installed). The problem occurs after usually 30-60 minutes of gaming (so far with oblivion, black & white 2). The game freezes for about 30 sec and then goes into blue-screen mode.
The message is as follows:
Kernel-Data-inpage-error stop error screen
then there are a lot of numbers etc.
I have sometimes noticed a slight change in fan noise prior to freeze (speeding up)
After reebot everything's back to normal.........
When I turned my computer on this morning it starts up but when it gets to the boot screen it gives me a blue screen but my computer instantaniously restarts so i have no idea what it said. What should I do I'm using ERD Commander 2005 and that let me boot into my computer but its limited I've never used ERD Commander before I've tryed a few things but nothing has worked yet

View 10 Replies View Relatedwhen I first start the computer, windows hangs between the black windows logo screen and the first blue screen that says "windows is starting". I have to hit the reset button, it goes to the dos screen with the safe mode, etc. choices. I choose "start using last known good configuration" and I'm good to go. If I turn the computer off during the day and turn it back on, It works fine. It only hangs on the first start of the day.
