View 2 Replies View RelatedRecently I reinstalled the OS on my computer. It was shipped with Windows XP HE SP2, but I formatted and put Win98 onto the system. Needless to say, it froze up at the Windows splash screen. So, I uninstalled it and put XP back on. My question here is, is there any possible way to put Windows 3.1, Windows 95, Windows 98, and Windows XP all on one hard drive, and it work? I know how to partition the hard drive accordingly for the deed, it's getting the computer to actually run 95, 98, and 3.1. I'm cheating fate here, since I know 3.1 probably won't run on my 32-bit structure system, but it's worth a try. My system is a Dell Dimension 4700 with 3.0 gHz CPU, 256 mb of RAM, and an nVidia 64 mb video card.

I went into the setup and set times to limit how late they could be on. When the time comes that they should be shut off the router disconnects them and then reconnects them shortly thereafter. I have it set to shut off at 9:00 p.m. and turned back on at 8:00 a.m.. I am using a Linksys systems router.
View 6 Replies View RelatedFrom what I gathered, he connected a Network Bridge card to his laptop (windows xp) so he could improve his XBox online gaming speed and his computer hasn't been the same.He is unable to go online.Here are some details: he has 2 network bridge icons that he can't delete. He has 2 internet cconnections (apart from his DSL connection which isn't connected) that appear to be connected to who knows what. So that is 3 connections running when he should have just 1.When he tries to connect to the internet, is may show he's connected on the bottom toolbar but the window shows says he is not. Everything runs slow. He cannot open the Network Connections Wizard (whatever it is, i have a mac). When he tries to shut down it takes really long. So basically everything isn't running the way it should.

Got infect by a virus, virus was removed by Kaspersky. After virus removal both the 10/100 NIC and the wireless adapter, and the bluetooth have indicated that they are disconnected. However from device manager they show up as working properly, which they are not as I cannot connect to the internet and there is a red X on all three icons in the system tray. I have tired to get rid of this bridge connection that is on my local area connection. I try to remove it with the bridge connection area and all it says is "To create a Network Bridge, you must select at least two LAN or High-Speed Internet connections that are not being used by Internet Connection Sharing." I have AT&T hig speed internet and tired talking to them and they said it was on my end, plus I spend two hours on the phone to someone who doesn't know much english and not alot about computers. So can someone please help me. The only way I can connect to the internet is through the my D-Link router which sucks

First off, I have a batch file which is launched by cruisecontrol and this batch file would set a couple environment variables. then it will call a second batch file which would setup some more environment variables and exit.

It is set for console, is this some sort of default and can I change it? Do I have to change it here or is there a control panel somewhere that handles this setting? I'm trying to define an environment variable, CLASSPATH, to link to all the .jar files in a certain folder, C:cp. This folder contains 16 different .jar files. CLASSPATH needs to look like: file1.jar;file2.jar;etc Does anyone know a way to separate multiple entries with a semicolon automatically, rather than entering each .jar file? Perhaps using a wildcard (*) of sorts?

I've been using English an Japanese on my PC and this never happened.I used the Microsoft Office 2003 Language Setting to "add" Japanese and it's been running fine. But today, all the sudden, the Language Tool Bar disappeared. Language Tool Bar = The bar appears automatically on the screen when you are using multi languages on the PC.If the Language Tool Bar is in inactive, it's restored on the Left-Bottom of the screen. Eng for English, Jp for Japanese. So I tried removing the settings and re-added, re-started, nothing happened. Also I tried Control Panel, Regions and Language Setting, added Japanese (it was already added), nothing happens.In fact, if I see the current settings, there are English and Japanese there! I tried Spybot and Ad-aware to see if any problem. Then re-started, result, same. Updated IE to 7.0, result, same.I didn't change any settings today, no new downloads or installations before this problem occurred.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have to do a complete wipe and reinstallation of XP. It runs slow,reasons unknown. Anyway, on the old system, we had 2 users, both with administrative privileges. I need to know whether multiple users will cause the performance to drop in a major way. I understand the answer is yes IF both users remain active with programs running. But, we close our programs and log off completely when we switch users. Will multiple users on a system bog it down if only one user has programs running and the other user is logged off?
