Was just wondering if anyone would know my when I play my MP3's that the playback is skippy like. Like, its not static or garbled, Just like a CD when it skips. Streaming audio or any other audio is like MP3 playback. Why is this??
I have a Toshiba Satellite A105. Just one day the audio starting to "stuttering". When any software that is using audio "sound, speech, games, music" even just XP. I have updated all the drivers. I have deleted and reinstalled : Windows Media Player 11, Adobe Flash Player 10 Active X, and RealTex High def audio driver. I could not find any virus or spyware.
i recently just got this problem, umm the first thing i started to notice was my startup becoming extreamly slow, at that point i thought there was a problem, so when i finally got through the startup, i move my mouse around and like every few seconds it would skip, so basically you move it and then 3 seconds later it skips so you basically see a lag spike or something. it continues for awhile and then stops like maybe 10 min later. but then starts again everytime i open a program ex: counter strike, Azureus, microsoft word.
which started by sound crackling and then followed by cpu used up to 50 percent on a core duo2 processor which also makes disables my ,mouse temporarily but if i move the mouse on a highlighted icon it registers the mouse bieng on the icon but no pointer apears to be present it will then come back after 5secs.this hapens when i use windows media player and firefox also it hapens often, how can i fix this?
I posted a little bit back with a question about reinstalling XP; it turned out to be a bad mainboard, so. Coming back with new mainboard and everything in fact, this used to be my dad's computer with my harddrive in place of his and I'm still having problems.Namely, this weird system flutter. When I'm playing music, it sort of stutters, when I'm typing, the cursor stops and the type stops appearing for a second. I've been keeping an eye on the CPU usage in Task Manager and as far as I can tell, it doesn't have anything to do with that, and I've tried turning off the music, but I think it's still happening. It's harder to tell without the music skipping but I'm pretty sure it's done it once while I was typing this.My dad is also infamous for screwing with CPU speeds and whatnot, so it could be something along those lines.
Hello, when I start up my loptap, I get this message (autoprogram no found skipping autocheck)and then nothing comes on the screen. It looks like it turns off by it self.
im having a problem with my audio skipping all the time in random places ive restarted my computer, ive reinstalled driver for the audio devices ive trying everything i can think of and still nothing
Hi there. I was wondering what the procedure is to deactivate the Logon screen during the bootup stage of Windows XP. I currently have no password set, and don't wish to have one either.
My windowsXPpro has hung and given me a blue screen and it says smth like: "A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent any damage to your computer. "If this is the first time you have seen this stop error screen, restart i'm not too sure what the message is as my laptop will have restarted before i even get to read finish the screen.i knw this isn't helping much but until it happens again, i can't provide more information. After restarting, it'll go into scandisk as normal after a crash. however, it will then scan VERY slowly until about 56% where it will hang. i think there is a last message but as it took me many MANY tries restarting and skipping scandisk
I have an error message on startup (XP home) which reads: "lsdelete program not found - skipping AUTOCHECK". ~~ I follow this method http://forums.techguy.org/windows-vi...ogram-not.html
I reboot the computer but still SAY:lsdelete program not found - skipping.
I have windows xp and I noticed that my whole computer is been running kinda choppy.anything that has audio will skip, including music, aim sounds, videos, video games, anything in general.also my mouse moves choppy. It will pause for a second and then start moving again with no problem and then pause again. The mouse mainly moves choppy when I load up certain programs.
I seemed to have run into a problem. I'm running xp pro w/ sp2. I usually keep my computer on all the time but yesterday I turned it off. When I turned it back on this morning, I got a message "Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: windowssystem32configsystem". I followed some advise online which told me to use the recovery option using my win xp cd. When I rebooted it seemed to work ok but then came another message, "Autochk program not found- skipping Autocheck" then it reboots. It keeps doing this over and over again. I found some more advise online which told me to copy the program from my win xp cd to the harddrive using the recovery option.

When I try to play video files the video will pause for a split second every few seconds and I don't know what the problem is. In fact my computer is running much slower than normal lately. I've gotton rid of unused programs, I've run SpyBot, and I've updated my video drivers.
When watching DVDs or listening to music from MP3 on the hard drive, the performance is jerky. This happens using WMP and RealPlayer both. I used TaskManager to see if there was any resident stuff and eliminated antispyware and a few other programs, but nothing shows on the list. I ran Process Explorer from SysInternals.com and it shows19-35 % of the CPU capacity from "Interrupts". What can be causing this stuttering or jerky performance.
Suddenly WMP plays wmv files with everything in blue and pink, sound is okay and all other file formats playback okay. Has anybody found a viable solution for this one?
I tried to log on to the internet (dial-up). The dialer panel came up, I hit dial, and it closed. I tried again with the same result. I restarted hoping it woud fix it. It got the the Windows XP loading screen, then went to a light blue screen w/ dark blue bars at the top and bottom (the new bsod) and displayed two messages that said the same thing: autochk program not found - skipping AUTOCHECK After about five seconds the computer reboots and repeats the process.
After the BIOS boot and before the Windows XP load screen, there is a recovery option. I tried this and got into the Gateway System Recovery. It says "Starting Recovery..." with a progress bar and then goes to this BSOD: STOP: c0000218 {Registry File Failure The registry cannot load the hive (file): SystemRootSystem32ConfigSECURITY or its log or alternate. It is corrupt, absent, or not writable. At this point the screen just stays there and the computer responds to nothing but the power button.
I have a gateway laptop. about 6 months ago i was listening to music through my itunes and the songs starting skipping and the comp froze. I tried to do ctrl alt delte and couldnt so i had to shutdown by just holding the power button. The computer was also really hot when this happened. Since then I have not been able to get the computer to work. It will start about and give me the option of how i would like to start (in safe mode or regular) and no matter which option i pick it will go to the loading screen for windows xp and just sit there with the progress bar going for hours or until the comptuer dies. It never gets past this point or gives me any kind of errors.
I am running a WinXP SP2 machine, with a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS.One day, during a Windows session, my sound just stopped working. I tried to play a song in Winamp, and got the message: "Device not found. Please select another device in configuration. Error code: 88780078." The window title was "DirectSound output v2.2.12 error".Trying to play a song in Windows Media Player yielded a simlar result: "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on your computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might not be functioning properly."
> I have Windows XP Media Center Ed with all recommended updates. Recently I have noticed an issue when playing DVDs, the video and audio plays really slowly. This happens in Media Center, Windows Media Player and WinDVD. I have tried different DVDs and have the same problem with all, however playing video or music files from the hard drive is not a problem. just the DVDs!
> Changed video settings from 32 bit to 16 bit > Made sure hardware acceleration is on > Made sure write combining is on > Reinstalled dvd drive > Can't think of anything else...
I'm experiencing the exact same problem as this person above... anyone know what's causing this problem and how to fix it? I know for a fact that it's strictly a software/driver issue and not related in any way to hardware. I happened to purchase 2 identical HP PCs and intially both were fine and then after about a week one of them began to exhibit this DVD playback problem. I swapped the hard drives and the problem followed with the hard drive over to the "good" PC and the problem was gone from the "bad" PC. My fear is that eventually this same problem will surface on the "good" hard drive... BTW, neither PC is connected to the Internet (by design, since I'm using them as stand alone workstations).
Im Using Windows Media Player 10 and When i play a dvd i get no sound and distorted video like a roll of film being exposed to sunlight. It may have somthing to do with overlays. The video problem started after i installed the latest 6800 Ultra drivers. All media players have the Video distortion. Distortion does not happen when i play video of my HDDs.
I just re-formatted my hard drive and re-installed Windows XP. ever since then i can only get black and White video playback on my video players: Windows Media Player 8, 10 and Nero 7 Showtime. I upgraded to all the Codecs that I had prior to my relaunch, but that did not change anything. Windows XP Ge Force4 Ti 4200
How i can go to play back option in sound panel because i am using spdif cable fgraphic card to motherboard. I have spdif as default in playback option to get sound.
My computer suddenly started playing audio files too fast, such that they sound like the Chipmunks. This is for direct CD play as well as MP3 files on a variety of players. I tried adjusting hardware acceleration (as suggested on another website) and as I suspected, it didn't work. Any suggestions to fix this? Windows XP SP3 Pentium 4 3.00 GHz Audio: RealTek AC'97
i downloaded a 2GB Quicktime movie file from an oversea friend onto my WinXP PC but i couldnt get it to work although i playback it with Quicktime. He streamed the quicktime file from internet thru his Mac PC.When i received it i noticed it doesnt have an ext at all.
any hulu/Internet/etc. streaming content type videos, even on the lowest hd setting (288p, for ex.) just ends up being choppy, worst in full screen. here are my specs:
amd athlon xp 2600+ cpu 1.0 gig of ram pny geforce fx5200 256 mb pci graphics card windows xp home ed. w/sp3 160 gb hd
an older computer with an older processor, and if anything, it's probably the cpu that is preventing me from having normal playback with streaming content. i had a laptop with a core duo processor that worked fine with this type of video, but i fried it so i am stuck with this for now. haven't used this pc in a few years so now i am noticing it's limitations as far as this stuff goes. if anyone has had any luck with an older machine getting relatively normal playback with these streams. i have tried reducing hardware acceleration, drivers are fully updated for graphics card, hard drive is formatted so no viri are causing this, reinstalling flash, changing settings on monitor, and playback is the same.
I am having problems playing a downloaded movie on either of my two pc's, the audio plays but the video doesn't. I have tried mediaplayer, winamp and real player and both my computers but with no luck. the files will play from my dvd OK and a friends pc has no problem playing them.My problem is that i havnt a clue where to start to sort the problem out.
I am having problems with video playback on my comp. I have two dvd drives,a LiteOn DVD reader and a new Samsung DVDRW w/Lightscribe.I have had no problems in the past, but now my movies look really poor. I tried the disks in my laptop and they played fine. What is the prob? I've used Windows Media Player, Nero Showtime and PowerDVD and all three had the same playback issues.
I am trying to watch video playback on my tv. I am using a dell Latitude 610 with an s-video output cable. All displays are fine except video playback. I have used windows media player9, windows media player classic and nero. The video box opens fine and playback occurs on the laptop but I get a purple screen in the video box on the tv. resolution has been changed from 600x800 to 1024x768 with no change in video display.
Recently, my computer made a few beeping sounds, shut itself down and rebooted. Nothing happened. The second time it did it, there was no sound. I have Windows XP. When I start up my iTunes, it says iTunes has detected a problem with your audio configuration. Audio/Video playback may not operate properly. With Windows Media Player it says, Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on your computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might not be functioning properly....
