Getting Options Of Multiple Boots At Every Startup?

ok my neighbors Dell was having problems loading windows so i took alook at it it would still lock up in safe mode before the windows login screen so i tried to use the windows disk to repair windows but they forgot the passord that they used and it wouldnt let me repair with out a admin password so i decided to format so i used the windows xp home edition disk to format all the partions and reinstalled windows now its seeing 2 copys of windows when u boot up and giving the option to pick wich windows xp home edition i want to boot with.
I have 3 hard disks with multiple boot The C drive died on the first disk which uses 98 - I don't use it as an os Disk 2 holds a couple of XP's in different partitions - I use the D drive XP all the time Disk 3 has one os and partitions By installing these os, I was confident that in case of failure I could reboot to another - Huh ! Of course it always looks for boot.ini on the c drive ......I have replaced the C drive and am trying to install XP pro from a cd. It gets so far then when it restarts/reboots the whole damn installation starts from scratch again
i installed Windows Vista Ultimate on my C Drive. and then installed Xp SP2 on my D Drive, in that sequence. now when the window boots it doesn't show the booting options and directly boots into XP SP2. i can not boot into Vista now. is there anyway i can make OS choice menu available / boot into Vista.
Up to one hour ago, I had a multiple boot set up on my computer.Windows XP Windows Vista Home Premium (one)Windows Vista Home Premium (two).At boot up, I got a screen showing all three installatons, and I used the up/downkey on my keyboard to select whichever i wanted to run.One hour ago I reinstalled XP.On startup, the opportunity to select which OS to run no longer appears. Instead, the computer boots directly into XP.I tried playing around with Vista Boot Pro, unsuccessfully. The three OS are listed and the Vista HP (one) shows up as default. But rebooting only boots into XP.I tried Repair Your Computer from the Vista installation disc. But the chance to click the operating system I want to repair is not available. Instead another window appears, which says there is a problem with the boot, and do I want to repair it and restart. I click on Yes, but it restarts and still boots straight into XP again.
I have a problem with windows 2k or at least when it's booting up.When my computer boots, it asks me if I want to run win xp, win 2k, or win 2k start up. I just want it to boot directly to 2k without prompting me.
i am having problems my startup it's very slow and freezes forceing me to restart computer multiple times just for it load up xp properly.Also generally my computer is very unresponsive cant understand why ive defraged ive deleted all temp files freeed up space on hd and regular run virus scans.
I was going to do a clean install of 2000 over 2000,it won't let me do the install.
I thought I'd clean it up, so that is working out great, the seller didn't leave too much on there...but everytime it restarts I have the option to run windows 2000 or run windows 2000 setup.how to make it start up normally?
After a reinstall i now get the option of "xp pro or xp pro" bit daft really anyone got a clue also having two harddrives i choose this time to put windows on the smaller one 37gb i cannot get windows to call it "c drive"

Ive tried selecting both options and it boots up normally into Xp, but then when i boot up again or restart the comp the same screen appears every time

How would I go about restoring windows when all five startup options go to bsod? I get different stop messages when I choose different options. I thought about an OS re-install but can't find my disk, all I can find is the disk for my fiancee's Laptop. Hers was XP pro and mine was Xp home so I didn't think it would work, and besides I can't find any product codes or serial numbers for either. Am I going to have to format and buy a new OS or what?
Isn't F8 supposed to bring up the boot options for win XP? It's not working. I've tried F1, F4, Esc, and Delete, F8 function is not working and that I'll need to fix this somehow.
I have inherited an old compaq s6220wm without HDD from a friend. Whenever I attempt to boot windows XP from a tested and working HDD, I am given the screen with the option for safemode, regularboot, etc. After selecting a boot option, the PC will start the boot process, and then a few seconds reboot, without any error message. Insterestingly, I can boot just fine with the LiveCD into Linux.
I bought a computer with XP Pro loaded. Recently discovered that the XP Pro is not "legal" so I went and bought XP Home (all I needed anyway). Loaded XP Home but now when the computer starts up I get the choice to either run XP Home in safe mode or XP Pro as before. Bascially I want to run with XP Home and discard XP Pro so that I am legal and can register for updates etc. Err, what should I do?
I messed up some of my .dll files so I needed to re-install Windows XP. While the installation process was on I was prompted for an Administrator ID and Password. I never had an Admin id before, there I created one. After the reinstallation I restarted my system and I was shown an OS choice menu where there were two entries named 'Microsoft Windows XP'. The first choice opened up the newly created guest account and when I logged in it had none of my previous data, it was just like a frest account. The second choice was my normal account that I was using before re-installtion. Now I was annoyed with the admin account and reinstalled Windows for the second time. After re-installing I saw there were a total of three OS menu choices, the first two were admin and the last one is my own account. So everytime I start my PC I have to manually select the third OS option. Its really annoying. How do I get rid of the first two OS choices?

Ok, I finally decided I need to fdisk, format and reinstall windows xp. Repairing and re-installing are not options. Too many errors result.Here's the problem. I have several startup disks... from 95 through xp (which is actually ME in isquise). NONE of the fdisk commands seem to work. XP is so screwed up, I'm lucky to get back here, let alone find my original post. All I want to do is fdisk my C drive. My D drive is 120gig, and formatted just fine. I don't want to use it as my master though. I just want to put all my other stuff on it.

I have a computer that I formatted the hard drive on. Then installed Windows XP Pro. When it boots up, it goes to a black screen and has Windows XP Pro and Windows XP listed with the Win XP Pro selected and boots to it in 15 seconds or so if nothing is selected. I have read somewhere about this before and have NO clue where I read it, but does anyone know how to get rid of the option (Win XP) that really doesn't even exist on the hard drive?
I have ended up with 4 different options for XP Pro when my computer starts. This is, basically, as a result of me re-installing Widows a couple of times to try and solve a very slow running system (more help needed there but I will start a new thread for that).How do I remove the 3 unwanted start options?
I recently reformatted and repartitioned hard drive and reinstalled XP. I messed something up because now when I boot comp, I'm given three different Windows XP options to boot even though I have only one instance of XP installed. What do I have to do to get rid of the two unwanted boot options?
When I first turn on my computer the monitor remains blank and the computer just flashes the CD & DVD lights and I think the HD light is also on but that's it. I tried to press the reset button but nothing happens. If I turn off my power strip and then turn it back on and turn on the computer it boots ok. What is going bad on my machine, the HD, power supply, or could it be the mother board?
I turn on my pc and it boots as normal and goes to a screen where I have my users shown. Once I click on any of them it starts to sign on but straightaway changes to logging off and returns to the 3 profile screen. I can get into my desktop if I go through safe mode though
Everytime that i have such kind of problems above when i try to boot my PC it doesn't boot (Means there's nothing comes up on the Monitor with flashing green light, HDD just run for a while then stop, and there's some wierd noise comes out of my Speakers as well it's like chinese or sth, wierd huh? With that happens if i just leave my PC for a couple of days and try to boot it again, it boots up but somehow it cannot go into the OS and when i try the Safe Mode, it just show me alot of lines and continous beeping.
Her computer went into hibernation/sleepmode/standby , and we don't know how to get it back out of whichever one it's using. Nothing boots up on the computer when she reboots and the monitor light doesn't come on.
I need my PC secured but now it boots up without prompting me for a password.I running XP media center addition 2005.I have not knowingly made any changes to drop my password prompt and I've jump through too many hoops to reset it than should be listed here.
I've had a problem with my computer; in the past, almost every time I turned off the computer and rebooted, I would have to enter safe mode and then switch to regular mode, so I generally kept the computer on. After a longer than normal power outage, my computer doesn't reboot anymore. When I push the power button, it begins to boot and then shuts down. The computer in question has an amd 1,1 ghz athlon, 1 agp video card, 1 pci dual monitor video card (I run 3 monitors), a dvd drive, a cd-rw drive, a 3.5" floppy drive, a soundblaster card, 56k modem, 40 gig hd and an ethernet card for dsl.I'm running xp home edition with sp2. I tried unplugging various cards and drives, but it still will not boot.
