The PC Pitstop site requires that your browser has JavaScript and ActiveX support turned on while you're visiting. For detailed instructions on changing your security settingsand my settings are how they are supposed to be,i checked them.I have flash player and since it wasnt working i uninstalled it....but i cant install it from their site,cuz my active x and javascripts aint working

On both my desktop and my laptop running WindowsXP SP2 I use a simple, homemade start page with links to sites I visit almost daily. Frequently, when I open this page, I will get this message on my desktop but not my laptop:"To help protect your security, Internet Explorer has restricted this file from showing active content that could access your computer."Clicking for options, I get:"Are you sure you want to let this file run active content?"This is ridiculous, as there is no such "active content" on the page. Obviously, it has something to do with IE security settings.

I am writing on behalf of my daughter, she is having problems with IE Explorer. Even though she has downloaded Mozilla Firefox (at my recommendation) and is using only that browser only, she keeps getting these script errors from IE, they pop up, six, seven at a time the minute she gets online. Is there anyways of uninstalling IE?

I've got windows xp internet explorer 7 and it keeps coming up with something called "certificate errors" and won't let me access the site. It usually hasn't been a massive problem except I've just bought an ipod, and the certificate errors won't let me download itunes! So I really need to disable the certificate errors. Following instructions, I've got as far as disabling it, but it says that I need to restart internet explorer for it to take into effect. How do I restart internet explorer? Or is there another easier way to disable the certificate errors?

I have an XPS 400 Dell computer XP Media Center Operating System. Recently my son added modzilla to our computer. In doing so he deleted internet explorer. The computer was running sluggish so I went back to a later restore date. When the computer came back up after restore only my husband and my profile were shown. while signing into my profile i get the following error message:
EXPLORER.EXE - Unable to locate component
This application has failed to start because
WININET.dll was not found. re-installing the app may fix the problem.
what do i do to get this back? There are no icons or start menue on my deskdop just my background. I can view files if i go to task manager but nothing else can be done. I know very little about computers and I need help very stressed. My kids need a computer for school.

When I press Ctrl-Alt-Delete I am given a pop-up that says Task Manager has been disabled by the administrator. At any given time, when I am on the internet. I get a pop-up that says Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and must close. I usually click Don't Send and it closes out my Internet Explorer.

I recently had a computer crash, I had to reinstall most everything. I upgraded from Windows ME to Windows XP Professional. Now I have an annoying problem. Everytime I start Windows XP, it attempts to reinstall Internet Explorer 6, which I already have and is working fine. How can I make this stop trying to install this everytime I boot up?

My cumputer runs Windows XP Service Pack 3. Every day I am invited by Microsoft(automatic update program) to update my browser. After downloading the program it does not install. It is simply impossible.Note that before reinstalling my operational system a couple of months ago, I had Internet Explorer 7 running in my computer without any problems.

I would like to install Internet Explorer 7 beta 2, and it does not work. So I did what they said in troubleshooting (use regmon to find a key that says "access denied" So I did that and found that HKCR/mailto is the problem. So I go into the registry and when I click on it I get an a message saying there was an error opening the key. I try change the permissions, and again I get an error message. Then I even try to delete it (I have a copy from another system to install) and again I get an error message. What can I do to fix this problem?

I've messed up something to do with Internet Explorer. First of all, when I open IE all I get is a blank page. No error message or anything. I try to go to a site and the address bar stays at "http:///". I tried repairing my Windows 2000 installation and it didn't help at all. Now it's reverted back to IE5 and Outlook Express 5. So I tried to reinstall IE6 by downloading the installation file and running it. My computer, which has IE and Windows XP, somehow lost Flash player 8 and Shockwave last week. Graphics, pictures and streaming videos do not show up anymore. Many pages which have graphics are simply blank boxes. I tried to use my restore function on my computer and reset the computer to before this all happened and when I go to the restore page all I see is a white page with no words.On Macromedia's website, I try and download Flashplayer and Shockwave where it says to click but after that I see nothing but a blank page. It seems need these programs to even download them! Which is really getting my upset!I had a tech person from Yahoo help me with my all my computer settings and they are all set the way they should be. But I still cannot obtain Flash and Shockwave at all!

Volume on my laptop does not work. When I click on my volume control I get the infamous error message. Full message: There are no active mixer devices available. To install mixer devices, go to Control Panel, click Printers and Other Hardware, and then click Add Hardware. This program will now close."I've tried numerous searches on google/forums but nothing seems to work. I tried the services.smc, Ive tried the "machine.inf" copy/paste method. Tried to reset the BIOS to default in the setup menu (not sure if i really did this right but...). Nothing seems to be working.The sound worked before I had to delete the partition and reinstall Windows XP. Had a virus or something so I had to delete the partition and reinstall like I said. It's Windows XP Professional.

I keep getting an error from microsoft and soon after the error. Explorer.exe. restarts. and this happens very frequent. the error is "Microsoft Visual C++ runtime library Buffer overrun detected!

Explorer.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows. You will need to restart the program. An error log is being created.After downloading the latest Microsoft updates and security patches for this virus that hit last week, the above error happen.The desktop does not open. Start button will pop up, but after the error message appears it goes away.Pressing ctrl-alt-del will bring up Task Manager, but Explorer is not running, nor is anything else. Press New Task and get a new error message, but this one is from Task Manger: Tskmgr.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows. You will need to restart the program. Everytime I go to shut down my computer, I get an explorer.exe error msg, and am forced to end now, and then the computer will shut down. This is annoying, as it takes a long time to turn off. Also everytime I turn my pc on, the wallpaper will not display, and I am left with just a defualt blank colour and have to apply the wallpaper manually.

When I try to open certain files in My Documents, or any file in my folders labeled for media on my second hard drive, Explorer.EXE generates problems and I get my background for a few seconds before everything is right back to normal. Still without opening the file that I was trying to open. I have had several viruses, trojans especially, I may still have some. Im still able to open or modify any of these problem files through winamp or wmp- file, play file, up one level... my computer wasn't always like this. What should I do?

My computer has recently been freezing quite a bit. I have re-installed the op sys win2k prof. and it still does this. I have learned to live with the freezing not a big deal i just re-start often. Anyway today it really started acting up. I get to the login screen type in my password and it loads the desktop but before i can click on anything it gives me an error message saying that explorer has caused an error and will be closed and must be re-started, then it says generating error log. At this point i click ok and there is nothing on the desktop and there is no start bar. The only button combo that works is ctrl alt del. I have tried to boot into safe mode and it does the same thing. Today i had just finished installing new updates from microsoft and it froze right after doing this so i just had to do a hard re-start could this have screwed up the op sys??

I get this error message when I try to install new programs. Turbofloorplanpro.setup.exe
Illegal system dll relocation. The system dll user32.dll was relocated in memory. This application will not run properly. The relocation occurred because the dll C:windowssystem32shell32.dll occupied an adress range reserved for windows systems dlls. It said to contact vendor for an new dll.

I was trying to view a particular website, but when I navigate to it, it tells me that I need, "javascript enabled to view the site." As far as I know JavaScript is already enabled on each computer. All are running XP and all are updated w/ both SP1 and SP2. I went to about.com to test if I had JavaScript enabled and it said I did. How can I really make sure?

My pc is so slow that it takes ages to play a song in wmp11. Ive used tools like ad-aware and registry mechanic, tune up utilities. But still no improvement. It used to be just fine, until I installed some pay-for-viewing add program. I have uninstalled it since then, but the slowness remains. And the processor is hogged, at the highest level, even though i killed many a startup processes.

I recently had a problem on my computer where Internet explorer was not working and would'nt open, and no windows based functions that used the explorer interface would work... So i downloaded the IE7 install package on my other computer and burned to disk to install. everything was going along fine, and when prompted to restart to finsih the installation i did so..... that is when "it" hit the fan.

every time i try to open anything that uses these programs i get a 'windows/internet explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close' crash i think i have a virus in my processes i have 2 strange ones one is n6tgoxae.exe the other is 86851316.exe norton fixes this is for a short while but then the problem soon returns i have also tried spybot search and destroy as well as running AdAware can anyone help me on how to fix my explorer problems and gettin rid of

My temp files seem to be filling up with temporary Javascript files in a short amount of time. I have used CCleaner, Spybot S&D, MS Mal Removal Tool, I have, I have updated Sun Java and I unchecked Save Temp java files in Control Panel.This helped but the problem is growing again.
I was checking out web set linkware, one of the pages had a box pop up to click OK to run script. This was on a lot of other pages on the same site and worked with no problem. This time there was no java on the page. I am wondering if this caused the problem and how do I fix it? I'm attaching some of the CCleaner logs from today.
