My temp files seem to be filling up with temporary Javascript files in a short amount of time. I have used CCleaner, Spybot S&D, MS Mal Removal Tool, I have, I have updated Sun Java and I unchecked Save Temp java files in Control Panel. This helped but the problem is growing again.
I was checking out web set linkware, one of the pages had a box pop up to click OK to run script. This was on a lot of other pages on the same site and worked with no problem. This time there was no java on the page. I am wondering if this caused the problem and how do I fix it? I'm attaching some of the CCleaner logs from today.
xp sp2 I have a 3.2ghz processor 256mb graphics card nvidia 6200 and 1024 ram memeory the problem occured when i tried to open an avi movie file, i was moving the avi film from my downloads to shared folder but when i looked in shared folder it wasn't there so iwent back my downloads folder. when i tried to open or delete it a pop-up appearred saying the file was in use by another program, after a while i was able to delete it by dragging it to recycle bin. but 3 days on when i open a folder or firefox or an application the cpu usage goes from 7% to 100% and pf usage 550mb.
When I use a program called "Clean Up" I noticed it's always removing a lot of the same thing from my temp folder. The name of one the Items is: MSIc599.LOG, It seems to be being caused by this thing: ZLT05c3f.TMP Which I am Not allowed to delete
I'm not really sure if this is a Windows problem or a hardware problem, but I'm gonna start here and see where it goes... I'm working on a Dell Dimension 2400 running XPHE, SP1 which has, roughly, a 38 gb harddrive. All but five percent of the drive is filled, mostly with fragmented files huge, solid "chunks" of red, fragmented files. Programs installed and related files total almost 2 gb. Searches for photo, video and other possibly huge files found nothing. All installations considered, less than 10 gb of this drive should be used, yet there is only just over 2 gb available.
When i boot up, it goes to the desk top fine but takes at least five minutes before icons show. I'm running Xp and have run all my virus checks, disc clean up and defrag. I don't have an overload of icons, just a few but just won't load.
I have a friend who has Windows XP SP3 running with Vipre Anti Virus, the problem that arise is his temp folder seems to be filling up with these types of files..
He has a 300GB hard drive and only about 20 or 30GB is used but the rest of the Hard drive will get filled with the above temp files until the whole drives runs out of space..its'll go down to 1 MB or less so the rest of the 200GB is full of temp files..and the low hard drive notifications popsup.. I always have ro have him run CCleaer to clean out his temp folder.
I have 18.4 GB on the C drive.About a year ago, I needed more space so Iuninstalled programs that I hadn't used for awhile, and it cleared enough several gigs of space for me to do stuff again.Afew months later, although i hadn't added any programs, I was out of space again. This time, I got rid of even programs I did use. I cleared a few gigs again, but a month later, it was gone again. I moved all my picture and text files onto external drives.
I have a question for someone I know,, they are having trouble with their computer.when a couple site or programs are running the fan starts running loudly like its having trouble supporting all the programs that up. If she reboots, the fan sounds fine.
I have a dell with win xp pro with sp2, 2gb or ram, 2.4ghz intel celleron, i run mcafee securietycenter. My primary use for a computer is internet, video editing, and listing to music. previously i was able to edit videos when some small programs were running, but lately my computer is spiking to 100% cpu usage. now i cant even run a single simple program like winamp or internet explorer with out spiking stuttering, let alone even thinking about opening my video editing program, or editing any video. it stutters and is very slow. It is now very slow to boot, when in the past was a lot faster. Programs are just barley slower in opening. This happens online and offline. and it doesnt seem to matter how long my computer has been on, it happens all the time. I've tryed ad-ware and spybot thinking it was spy ware slowing everything down. didnt help. Is there a program or software that will minimize all unnessary programs or take control of what programs can run?
My comnputer just started freezing randomly, and I cannot listen to music and do something else anymore. Any action that MS Word, or Firefox, or IE, etc, takes, and the music starts skipping. Same thing with videos. The computer has just become very uncooperative in general. And the "activity light" of the computer that normally blinks, sometimes stays on, without blinking, for minutes at a time, and I am not doing anything.
I was trying to view a particular website, but when I navigate to it, it tells me that I need, "javascript enabled to view the site." As far as I know JavaScript is already enabled on each computer. All are running XP and all are updated w/ both SP1 and SP2. I went to about.com to test if I had JavaScript enabled and it said I did. How can I really make sure?
I have been suffering through a weird phenomenon lately. Whenever I go to IE the first time of any boot or reboot, it "hangs" after filling up the status bar for several minutes, then releases and all is well. (NOTE: I don't think this is IE-specific. It has happened booting apps, but I notice it most with IE as I use it extensively.) When things seem to lock up, EVERYTHING is locked up. I can't even bring up Task Manager, none of the icons in the Task Bar are active, etc. Sometimes I can Tab through other apps that are open, sometimes not, but when I can, the app is "frozen" until whatever is going on finishes. During this time, I can watch the process light (I have a Dell D600 laptop) going nuts. Before and after this event, I have run the system through the latest updates of utilities such as Ad-Aware Plus, Ad-Watch, PestPatrol, Symantec Antivirus, Ace Utilities, RegSeeker, etc., and none of them sends up a flag that anything is wrong.
My machine is always up-to-date via Windows Update feature, so I don't know what is causing this. I had the bright idea to reinstall XP SP2, but can't. Every time I try, it quits, giving me nothing more than a smal window with a red X in it and the notification that the install has been cancelled. I ordered the free XPSP2 CD just to see if that would make any difference, but I get the same error. I suspect I could attempt a slipstream install, but I don't want to go through all that if anyone out there recognizes this problem and knows what the solution is outside of doing a slipstream reinstall of SP2. Finally, I have several times done System Restores going back as far as I can, but while they have been successful (although I usually have to do the restore in Safe Mode as they will often fail otherwise), it has made no difference related to this problem.

Is there a program or software that will minimize all unnessary programs or take controll of what programs can run?
To make a verrrrry long story short, I've been getting the "Blue Screen of Death" messages every time I try to run a program which requires 512MB RAM or more to run. I have 2GB of RAM.
When trying to enter into a chat with my ISP technical support, I got a message saying Javascript needs to be enabled/installed. How do I do this? I know Microsoft does not particularly like Javascript (but I think it's here to stay). Is Sun better than Microsoft? TIA
ok so im on this website and about make an account on it, as i click the link to make an accound nothing happens, its as if i didnt click it.but what i have found is a little note saying 'Javascript:Undefined' wtf?
"you have JavaScript turned off " this message turned up once. I get pictures in the email or in programs and I get a big white squre with a little stamp in the upper left corner. is there some way to get the picture? I do not know what javascript is or how to turn it on.
My Windows media player is not working. The online video is also not working. It's showing "cannot create directshow player". Also there is problem with my internet explorer. The Javascript is not working IE. The javascript option is enabled in internet options. On Experts advise from forums I tried registering javscript dll but it fails to register. I think due to some related problem with this the the texts typing in Yahoo mesenger is also not visible.
Recently I've been denied access to some programs on this computer (Win XP Pro) which are readily accessible on my 2nd computer (Win. 98 SE). The only clue I have is a statement at the bottom of the screen (preceded by an S encapsulated in a red ring) which reads: JavaScript Currently Forbidden [<script>] [J+F+P:O]. However, in going to Tools, Options, Content, I find checks in front of both "Enable Java" and Enable JavaScript".
Whenever I try to do pretty much anything I get a "javascript:void(0)" error... let me explain: If I try to read my hotmail, for example, if I try to read, delete, send, mail or whatever on MSN, it just doesn't load and says javascript:void(0). If I try to go to Windows Update, same thing happened. If I try to run help and support, or try to run a Restore point, the thing goes blank, doing nothing. If I try to watch music videos from let's say, MTV, VH1, AOL, etc. nothing works. If I try to open Windows Media Player, it gives some internal server error and closes...........
The PC Pitstop site requires that your browser has JavaScript and ActiveX support turned on while you're visiting. Since you were directed to this page, it appears that your browser is not running the JavaScript or ActiveX controls on our site. You'll need to change these settings before PCPitStop can perform a tune-up. For detailed instructions on changing your security settingsand my settings are how they are supposed to be,i checked them.I have flash player and since it wasnt working i uninstalled it....but i cant install it from their site, cuz my active x and javascripts aint working
