When I start the computer, it asks if for the choice of Safe Mode, w/ Networking, w/Command Prompt or Normally.
I've tried them all and if I try it normally, it won't get past the XP loading screen. It's loading and then it flashes a blue screen for a second and then restarts the computer again.
I tried pressing F8 at boot and selected 'Disable automatic restart on system failure' and this is what I get
STOP: 0x00000024 (0x00190203, 0x83306788, 0xC0000102, 0x00000000)
I even tried using this http://forums.techguy.org/6669592-post28.html to get to chkdsk At boot, F12, chose CD/DVD, but still nothing, I even tried disabling boot from +HDD, FDD and LAN from the bios setup menu to see if it works and this is what I got, it just keeps going on and on unless I enable boot from +HDD

I've got a few things that I can't stop from loading on start-up. I don't use the programs (or very rarely use them) so I just end up right-clicking on them on the toolbar to stop them. I tired going into the options for each program to stop them from loading on start-up but can't find a way to do it.
Is there a way to view what loads on start-up so I can remove them from the list?
My HP Laptop is about 4 years old, but still works great... until a few days ago. When i start it up, the loading screen comes up and finishes. Then it goes black, and stays black. I CAN however boot in safe mode (not safe mode with networking tough), and it works fine. I am also having problems finding my CD, but have the License Code. So a No-CD Answer would be wonderful

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using WinXP SP2 and just two days ago the computer stalls at the loading screen (black screen says Windows XP and the blue loading bar underneath). It doesnt completely freeze but it just keeping on loading and never gets to windows, even after I wait for 10 mins. I have tried F8 and used 'last know good configuration and that didn't help'. The only change that i've made was instaling a new DVD burner a few days and it worked no problem after installation. The stall problem started after I manaully shut down the computer (press down power for 10 secs) when my computer froze from using dvd shrink. I'm pretty sure its not the software problem.. it should be hardware problem? Should I update dvd firmware? Is there anything else I can do to fix the stall problem?

View 8 Replies View RelatedToday I decided to do a system restore on my HP desktop computer. It was running painfully slow, to many un-needed programs etc. So I backed up all the files that I needed to keep and save to my external hard drive. The computer did not come with an operating disk so the only way I could get it back to sorta normal is to do the system restore. After I backed up all my files I restarted the computer and pressed F11 or 12 cant remember the one for system recovery/restore. About 12 seconds into the restore/recovery thing I accidentally hit the power switch under the table When I turned the computer back on I presses the F11 button again and this time made sure nothing bad happened. After it completed its task I clicked OK and restarted the computer.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI started receiving at startup the following error: "Data Execution Prevention - To help protect your computer windows as closed this program Name: Windows Explorer
Publisher: Microsoft Corp" I had gone to MyComputer, properties and put windows explorer in the exception list. And it loaded up ok after that. This morning it started giving the same error plus another one: "DrWatson Postmortem Debugger has encountered a poblem" and has closed. In addition to the above, I can't click or start anything. The screen looks like it's loaded up correctly but then I am not able to start or use any program.only option I can choose is to see the task manager. Now the screensaver has come on and moving the mouse doesn't take it back to the normal screen. I really am not sure what the problem is I am writing this post from another PC.
i think im postin in the right place. I have a system that i built about a month ago that keeps crashing and i dont know why. It runs XP. when i start the computer, it will either shut down after the windows loading screen, shut down after the motherboard maker screen, or shut down as soon as i power up. I buit it, but this is the first time ive done anything like this before, and i dont know much about the workings of the insides yet.

http://forums.techguy.org/windows-vi...load-blue.html.I just connected my iPod Nano (3rd Generation) to my second computer to charge up and then it completey shut down and now shows the error:Error loading OS <windows root>system32hal.dll Please reinstall a copy of the above file.I have tried to repair the required, but it wont even read or load my XP Pro installation disk to repair it.This is extremely frustrating, as I am now thinking that my iPod has a virus in it and has transferred it from my laptop through to my other PC~!
I just normally turned my pc on and when it loaded up, I got this message..And so I clicked on the 'click here' and this appeared. What does it mean?Has something harmed my pc or have I got a virus?Only it has done this twice today each time I have turned on my pc.So basically it's happening every time I turn my computer on.

After loading the installation files from the CD, windows xp shuts down and reboots to continue loading a fresh install of Windows from the installation files onto the HD.Instead of loading the installation files an error message hangs the installation and reads Error Loading Operating System. The installation files are loaded, but Windows xp won't load up? View 1 Replies View RelatedMy computer was running fine last night, but today when I tried turning it on, it came up with "Error Loading OS" on the boot up screen. It has never done this before, and it will only work now when I have the Windows XP disk in the CD Drive. I even tried unplugging everything and plugging it back in, but it still won't work.
View 1 Replies View RelatedFirst I run Windows 2000 and keep it updated as much as Microsoft releases updates. I also reguarly run anti-virus, anti-spyware, defrag, etc. The problem started 2 weeks ago when I booted the computer it showed the MB splash screen and then instead of the 2000 loading screen it just showed "Error loading OS." in the top left. Well I figured the hard drive was going so I pulled it out, blew it off, tapped on it, checked connections and stuck it back in. Rebooted and everything seemed fine and has the past 2 weeks. Well today I was playing Civilization 4 and the screen went blue. Yes the dreaded blue screen, but no error messages on the screen or anything. Just a solid blue screen. The computer didn't respond to anything so I pushed the power button on the case. Well upon restarting nothing happens. Just a blank screen. No MB splash screen or anything. Everything is powered up and I can hear the hard drive spinning, but nothing is on the screen.

View 5 Replies View RelatedOver a few days I had a virus, and used various scans, and now it's cleared out, but I seem to be missing a dll file. One that it said was infected (and deleted) was in WINSYS32QBIWF.dll The only thing I now notice, and don't know if it's connected, is when I open Yahoo instant messenger, and click on the name of the person I write to with this, a script error box comes up saying problem loading dll. And do I want to run scripts YES or NO? No matter what I check, the box opens, but, there is no scroll bar down the side of the box. Thus, when the conversation gets to the bottom, I have to close the IM box and reopen it again(blank) and start over.

At least I cannot find it doing a search that includes hidden and system folder. I checked another XP machine, and ozuveseb.dll does not reside on that PC, either.how to determine what this file is, and where to find a replacement?
