when I try to download my daughters 2004 spongebob movie pc game an error happens halfway through the download that reads "file group: program executable files" "D:/data2.cab" When I try to download the sims complete collection I have a similar problem.

It has never done this before, and it will only work now when I have the Windows XP disk in the CD Drive. I even tried unplugging everything and plugging it back in, but it still won't work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Dell XPS Gen 3 from 2004 underwent a serious issue when I installed Kaspersky Internet Security resulting in BSoD when I booted computer. Long story short, I had to buy a replacement HDD as the original drive fell and now only plays music (Took it out to extract important files, all save, but when troubleshooting it back on PC with the recovery console it fell).
On my PC I had two extra HDDs, one at 170gigs for music/pics and some apps and a 500 gig for media and some apps. I unattached both those HDDs when I did a fresh install of XP Home Edition on my Dell XPS. After that install seeing everything loads and works as expected I powered down PC and attached my other two drives to get an Error Loading OS.
Everytime I turn on my computer and windows starts up. It tells me it cannot find cfgmgr52.dll module. error loading it states. Our daughter opened a link
and just loaded it up with so many stubborn adware. That with norton I was finally able to get rid of them.
My computer tries to boot, it takes a while to detect anything from the CD-ROM (my first boot priority), and then when it detects the IDE, it says "error loading operating system" and after that I can't do anything but restart or shut down. I am running Windows XP Professional and it will load with a boot disk, but if I take out the boot disk it won't load.

Directory Listing Denied
This Virtual Directory does not allow contents to be listed. My computer is a compaq presario. I have windows xp service pack one I use a cable connection. I have a friend that has the same cable connection and is in the same online class and she has never had this happen to her. I was wondering if anyone knows why I keep getting this message and if there is a way to keep it from doing this. It just started doing this about a month ago.
I've got a problem with my xp... when i started it up earlier, i entered my password clicked enter and it displayed the 'loading your settings' message. It was stuck on this screen for a while so i pressed Ctrl+alt+del and it loaded in.. Only problem was it loaded, but not into my account. It was like my pc was when i first got it, default settings, none of my files ect.. (however it did have a few of the games i had on my pc before), I re booted my pc and again i entered the password, again it didn't load so i hit ctrl+alt+del and it loaded . However this time a message appeared saying something about my account and it had 'created a tempory one'..?

This morning it started giving the same error plus another one: "DrWatson Postmortem Debugger has encountered a poblem" and has closed. In addition to the above, I can't click or start anything. The screen looks like it's loaded up correctly but then I am not able to start or use any program.only option I can choose is to see the task manager. View 1 Replies View RelatedMan, my computer for the last two weeks have been crashing like an emo. I mean, when I play GTA: San Adreas, in 20 minutes, I get a BSOD with a stop error. When I put hardware acceleration to full, in a half an hour, I get a BSOD with a similar error. Believe me, I got three kinds of errors, and some were from different time. I believe the problem either came from the either the PSU, new 512 mb of ram, old 512, CPU, system board, or the graphic card. I'll try to post the error as best as I can. So, is there a solution to this?

Also, sometimes, after it tries to recover from a serious error, the computer shuts down during the bootup before I can choose which XP version I can choose.

I can't get anywhere into Windows, I've done F2, F8, F12, everything I could think of without risking more damage. I've booted from the system mechanic CD with the Hard Drive recovery, and while it said it found and fixed a problem, it didn't fix this one.
When I'm trying to start up Windows XP Home Edition I receive an error box without an error message, I can just click YES or NO. Neither option let's me continue. When starting up in Safe Mode, everything works fine.

When I close the box, i lose my desktop, and can't run a bunch of programs, including the "run" option. I am able to run my browsers and get on the web.
