When ever I start or restart my computer, this message box pops up and it says, Error loading C:sindowssystem32stlbdist.dll The specified module could not be found.I am running Windows XP Home. I upgraded from Windows ME. I know that that is not the cause. I just thought I would mention which OS I have. I think this showed up after I uninstalled Limewire, but I'm not sure.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Dell XPS Gen 3 from 2004 underwent a serious issue when I installed Kaspersky Internet Security resulting in BSoD when I booted computer. Long story short, I had to buy a replacement HDD as the original drive fell and now only plays music (Took it out to extract important files, all save, but when troubleshooting it back on PC with the recovery console it fell).
On my PC I had two extra HDDs, one at 170gigs for music/pics and some apps and a 500 gig for media and some apps. I unattached both those HDDs when I did a fresh install of XP Home Edition on my Dell XPS. After that install seeing everything loads and works as expected I powered down PC and attached my other two drives to get an Error Loading OS.
Everytime I turn on my computer and windows starts up. It tells me it cannot find cfgmgr52.dll module. error loading it states. Our daughter opened a link
and just loaded it up with so many stubborn adware. That with norton I was finally able to get rid of them.
I have an issue with my Inspiron laptop. One day about six months ago, it locked up. When restarting I got a blue screen saying "STOP: c00002221 Unknown Hard Error SystemRootSystem32tdll.dll." I looked all over the internet and found a bunch of people with the same issue. Most were told they were in for a format and reinstall of Windows XP to correct the problem and that all was lost. I did find one forum suggesting to do a repair/install which I did. worked just like an upgrade and all my files and settings were preserved.

It went to the screen that says you can start it in safe mode or normal mode or any of the other ones. But when i choose any mode the little white bar at the bottom of the screen loads, but then it freezes. Or if i choose safe mode it floods my screen with a bunch of command lines then freezes. I tried google'ing these codes but wasn't able to figure out what they were trying to say. I'm not sure what to do at this point Some background information. For a while now everytime I turn on my computer it will continually restart at different intervals until all of a sudden it just sticks and stays on and at that point it will work for hours on hours. However the restarting issue occurs EVERY time I start the computer. It usually stops restarting itself and works fine after about 10 minutes.
I ran MemTest86+ and found no errors. I switched out my PSU with a more powerful one (though my cousin thinks that one may be bad as well) but I don't have any extras and don't have a power supply tester laying around... I'm not sure how to check if it is my OS or possibly my board... I also don't have any extra parts
My computer tries to boot, it takes a while to detect anything from the CD-ROM (my first boot priority), and then when it detects the IDE, it says "error loading operating system" and after that I can't do anything but restart or shut down. I am running Windows XP Professional and it will load with a boot disk, but if I take out the boot disk it won't load.

So now when I do check disk it reboots, flashes a blue screen real fast (so fast I can't even read it) then restarts the computer, restarts check disk, restarts the computer, and on & on. It won't stop doing this till I interrupt check disk at the start by hitting any key but then I end up with a black screen with instructions which include safe mode, safe mode with networking, start windows normally & last known configuration
I can't boot from an installation CD to do a "repair" since Windows was preinstalled in the drive so I have NO CD. Does system recovery work?, who knows, I'm a noob and have no idea how to use it. The only thing I've tried to fix it was 2 things : 1) use system restore which failed; 2) use run> sfc /scannow but this file checker is also broken and will barely start before it errors and stops. Tried a Repair using XP CD on a 2 year old computer with XP home on it because it was not quite booting to the desktop.It took me all the way through the setup process when it restarted the computer and now presents with the message "Setup is restarting." and then a blank screen with a mouse (which is moveable) appears.The XP disk is still in the CD drive and HD Tune did not pick up any bad sectors when I plugged the disk drive into a USB port on my other computer.Is there any DOS commands from the Recovery section I should be using to check something ?

For example, today, I had five windows up (IE, Trend Micro Control Panel, My Documents Folder, Windows Media Player, and Photoshop) and I tried opening an eBook pdf file. When I did this, I kept getting an error message. I did this two or three times and the same thing happened. I closed Photoshop and tried opening my eBook pdf file again and this time it worked. Is my RAM going bad? I'll notice if I have six or seven windows open, IE starts to act up as well by not showing all of a website's images, form fields, etc. I know I've installed a GoToMyPC application in the last week or so. I have disabled, so it doesn't open when Windows starts, but I'm not sure if that was the problem.

Directory Listing Denied
This Virtual Directory does not allow contents to be listed. My computer is a compaq presario. I have windows xp service pack one I use a cable connection. I have a friend that has the same cable connection and is in the same online class and she has never had this happen to her. It was stuck on this screen for a while so i pressed Ctrl+alt+del and it loaded in.. Only problem was it loaded, but not into my account. It was like my pc was when i first got it, default settings, none of my files ect.. (however it did have a few of the games i had on my pc before), I re booted my pc and again i entered the password, again it didn't load so i hit ctrl+alt+del and it loaded . However, every once in awhile, it will stop sending faxes even though there are faxes still showing in the Outbox of the Fax Console and Fax Monitor shows Ready to send. What we do see in the Fax Monitor's more>> window is that the last fax said that the fax did not answer, fax was cancelled after about 5 minutes of sitting there trying and it requeued the fax. It then shows a message of Fax Device Error.There is nothing in the Event Logs showing that there is a device problem. Looking at the Printers and Faxes in the Control Panel show the Fax is Ready.
