Error Codes - Computer Repeatedly Restarting - BLUE Screen
Mar 16, 2007
So after having an extremely long battle with my computer repeatedly restarting and restarting and restarting I got the BLUE error screen. I copied down the errors on a piece of paper and they are: STOP: 0x0000008E (0x00000005, 0x0004210B, 0xB004EC8C, 0x00000000).
I tried google'ing these codes but wasn't able to figure out what they were trying to say. I'm not sure what to do at this point Some background information. For a while now everytime I turn on my computer it will continually restart at different intervals until all of a sudden it just sticks and stays on and at that point it will work for hours on hours. However the restarting issue occurs EVERY time I start the computer. It usually stops restarting itself and works fine after about 10 minutes.
I ran MemTest86+ and found no errors. I switched out my PSU with a more powerful one (though my cousin thinks that one may be bad as well) but I don't have any extras and don't have a power supply tester laying around... I'm not sure how to check if it is my OS or possibly my board... I also don't have any extra parts
Error message(blue screen of death): "STOP: c0000218{registry file failure} the registry cannot load the hive(file): systemrootsystem32configsoftware or its log or alternate it is corrupt, absent, or not writable
beginning dump of physical memory physical memory dump complete. contact your system administator or technical support group for further assistance." I was told that windows needed to be rebooted. So I moved my hard drive to another comp and transfered all my memory onto an external hard drive so I could reboot windows. I found an xp cd and tried to reboot from ide cd-rom and it wouldnt work. i ran a diagnostics on my ide and this error came up "primary ide: 0 st380011a- fail code 7"
Every time I start my computer and I logg in,my floppy drive's light turnes on and it sounds like it tryes to read something. This is allways supposed to happen. But a few days ago it was doing that and then everytime it did that there was a 1 second blue screen with some writing on it.It looked like some error message.Than the computer restarted it's self.
I bought a new video card. i think it might be faulty but i want to be sure before I RMA it.i switched out all the RAM put new RAM in, switched around the old RAM in different slots, its not the RAM.i actually had to install XP on the brand new hard drive from another computer because when I tried on my old computer it would blue screen at the "windows is starting" part so now that it has a fresh windows with all the updates i put it back on the new computer and it blue screens at the loading part of booting windows the hard drive still works on my other computer but not my new one. the new one doesn't have on board video and I dont have another pcie video card to put in to check if its the video card i baught that is causing the problem. i dont know much about BIOS anything but i have a feeling it might have something to do with updating the BIOS?

Everytime I’m going online after a while my computer just restarts. The symptoms I noticed is that downloading of webpages becomes slower than usual before it restarts. Before it restarts a blue screen appears with some text in it but I couldn’t read it because it just flashes a split second. After my pc has restarted a box pops out saying –The system has recovered form a serious error. But it doesn’t state what kind of error it just ask if you want to send the info to Microsoft. I hope someone could help me here. What are the causes and what do I need to do? (by the way im connecting to the net thru a modem, dial –up)
My windowsXPpro has hung and given me a blue screen and it says smth like: "A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent any damage to your computer. "If this is the first time you have seen this stop error screen, restart i'm not too sure what the message is as my laptop will have restarted before i even get to read finish the screen.i knw this isn't helping much but until it happens again, i can't provide more information. After restarting, it'll go into scandisk as normal after a crash. however, it will then scan VERY slowly until about 56% where it will hang. i think there is a last message but as it took me many MANY tries restarting and skipping scandisk
the computer had the problem of restarting itself over and over. he finally bought another one and gave me the problem one to try and fix. i got the blue error messages to pop up of course the microsoft support page had no info so here i am. if i'm in the wrong forum i apologize and can someone point me to the right one. anyway onto the messages i got so far.
we have reinstalled windows xp and drivers and nothing has worked. we also had a computer guy look at it and he said it was the harddrive. that was replaced with a new one and a reinstall of xp and drivers was done. and of course no help. i have a feeling from reading about errors that are similar to the ones i'm getting that i will need to check all the hardware by disconnecting and reconnecting. i'm hoping this is a software problem but that would be too easy for me.
I'm experiencing a great problem with Windows XP Professional. It keeps shutting down (sometimes, I activate the screensaver to prevent it), self-restarting or showing blue screen (the one that's suggesting me to deactivate caching and/or shadowing). Then, yesterday, I realized that it's also unable to burn discs or copy the big files from them (he activates that blue screen again).I tried to reinstall Nero and almost every driver, but it didn't work. I tried it with the older versions, too.
I have an issue with my Inspiron laptop. One day about six months ago, it locked up. When restarting I got a blue screen saying "STOP: c00002221 Unknown Hard Error SystemRootSystem32tdll.dll." I looked all over the internet and found a bunch of people with the same issue. Most were told they were in for a format and reinstall of Windows XP to correct the problem and that all was lost. I did find one forum suggesting to do a repair/install which I did. worked just like an upgrade and all my files and settings were preserved.
I have a dell inspiron 6400 notebook and i have windows xp home edition installed. i am getting the blue screen error message sometime after my computer starts. and then automatically my computer restarts. however, my computer works normally in safe mode.what should i do to make my computer work correctly and i dont want to spend any money as i just bought it a few months ago.

I have a friend who has a Dell Dimension 2400. She had a blue screen error with the following parameters 0x00000050 (0xfa3bedeb, 0x00000000, 0xfa3beded, 0x00000000). She was able to reboot at the time of the error but now she's getting a black screen and can not do anything at all.
getting a BSOD every day, sometimes two or three times a day. And when it happens, atleast once in that say the computer won't turn back on. It'll BSOD and then when he goes to boot it back up, it'll load the Bios screen and turn itself back off, with no warning. She can't get into windows at all. When I turn on her computer it goes to a black screen that gives me a choice to boot in safe mode, safe mode with command prompt, last known good configuration. It is Windows XP Dell Laptop. I've tried them all, everytime it just goes straight to the same Blue Screen with same message. She doesnt have a recovery cd with her.
when i go to the time settings and click on "Update Now" on the "Internet Time" tab, i get an error message saying that Windows can not synchronize the time. I checked the even viewer and found the following related error messages.
My brother attempted to install Windows Media Center on his computer, the computer then restarted and now keeps restarting right after the first screen, the "PRESS DEL TO ENTER SETUP" one with the energy saver icon. I tried to enter safe mode, all I got was the same restarting, even in safe mode. It seems Windows cannot load up
My parents have a new computer It's an hp pavilion running Windows XP and my dad plays games on it. Well his games have been freezing up and when I went over there to help I couldn't even get it to boot up so I had to do a diagnostic test with PC Doctor today and when I did I got an error code of HD 521-2W and then after it was finishing the system recovery, I got a " File D:WindowsCreator. Inp.Tool CD has been lost and can not be recovered."
When ever I start or restart my computer, this message box pops up and it says, Error loading C:sindowssystem32stlbdist.dll The specified module could not be found.I am running Windows XP Home. I upgraded from Windows ME. I know that that is not the cause. I just thought I would mention which OS I have. I think this showed up after I uninstalled Limewire, but I'm not sure.
It all started when i installed a fax modem on my computer. After installing it and restarting the computer the black screen came up with the run normal, safe mode and so on. I tried all of them and nothing worked. So i got a boot cd off the internet and tried using that but did not know what i was doing or how to use it. I tried running a couple things but nothing worked i probably just made it worse. So now when i try load windows a NTLDR is missing error comes up. Has anyone seen this before? Any help would be great i do not have original xp cd but i have a boot cd that may work if i knew how to use it.
My computer keeps crashing and the blue screen comes up, saying pyhsical memory dump technical info 0.0000008e (0.c0000005, 0.aa66dc02 0.aaza8az8,0.00000000)
Hey guys, i got a serious problem, i booted from the windows xp disc and started the installation process, then the computer restarts after all he bios stuff happens it restarts again before the windows boot screen comes up and keeps repeating over and over again.
I have been trying to install a HP PSC 1350 printer, but have encounter an error repeatedly. The installation runs smoothly until I am asked to insert the USB cable. When I do, the progress bar reaches 6/8 before I am notified that the 'RPC Server could not be reached'. I have check Services, and both the RPC services are on, but still nothing- what could it be?I am running Windows XP Home, with 171.2GB additional memory, 512MB RAM and and a 3Ghz Processor.
Man, my computer for the last two weeks have been crashing like an emo. I mean, when I play GTA: San Adreas, in 20 minutes, I get a BSOD with a stop error. When I put hardware acceleration to full, in a half an hour, I get a BSOD with a similar error. Believe me, I got three kinds of errors, and some were from different time. I believe the problem either came from the either the PSU, new 512 mb of ram, old 512, CPU, system board, or the graphic card. I'll try to post the error as best as I can. So, is there a solution to this? Error Message: STOP 0x000000EA THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER (Q293078) This is one of them, but there another one with KMODE that I can't seem to remember. Also, sometimes, after it tries to recover from a serious error, the computer shuts down during the bootup before I can choose which XP version I can choose. Also, I hate to say this, but I'm not using a legit windows copy sp1, but I have updated to sp2.
i had XP 2008 virus/spyware, which I think I managed to get rid of with Malwarebytes' Anti Malware and System Mechanic 7. Now I have a new problem. After receiving a recent download from microsoft, upon restarting, I get the blue screen of death with this message; STOP: C000021a (Fatal System Error) The Windows Logon Process system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc0000005 (0x00000000 0x00000000)
I can't get anywhere into Windows, I've done F2, F8, F12, everything I could think of without risking more damage. I've booted from the system mechanic CD with the Hard Drive recovery, and while it said it found and fixed a problem, it didn't fix this one.
After around 10-15 min after logging in a program error box opens up saying winlogon.exe fatal error then it switches to a blue screen saying fatal error c0000021a error. I have windows 2000 proffessional and a HP compaq nc6120 laptop.
After I used Fix-it Utlilies the program erased essential system folders. So now when I do check disk it reboots, flashes a blue screen real fast (so fast I can't even read it) then restarts the computer, restarts check disk, restarts the computer, and on & on. It won't stop doing this till I interrupt check disk at the start by hitting any key but then I end up with a black screen with instructions which include safe mode, safe mode with networking, start windows normally & last known configuration
I can't boot from an installation CD to do a "repair" since Windows was preinstalled in the drive so I have NO CD. Does system recovery work?, who knows, I'm a noob and have no idea how to use it. The only thing I've tried to fix it was 2 things : 1) use system restore which failed; 2) use run> sfc /scannow but this file checker is also broken and will barely start before it errors and stops. I don't know what else to do besides reformat
