View 1 RepliesI did a google search on the runner error -Invalid Backweb Application ID "137903"-. A website told me to run a search for programs with "backweb" in them and unistall/delete them. I deleted one program (application?) from the C:/ drive and now my computer is frozen. The mouse moves; however, I am unable to open anything including the recycle bin so that I can put the program back on the computer. I have tried to restart and it still happens.
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy mainboard is an Asrock AOD790GX/128MI am trying to set up a fresh install of windows XP pro SP3 on a single hard drive.I don’t want the RAID feature just the AHCI.I have set OnChip “SATA Operation Mode” option to AHCI and connected my HD to the SATA1 port and my DVD drive to SATA4 port.I have made a floppy disc with the AHCI driver “AMD AHCI Compatible RAID Controller- x86 platform” for xp from the included mainboard CD. The only driver present although I don’t need RAID I have booted my computer with my windows XP CD in. Then pressed F6 when prompted. I then put my floppy disc in with the driver on and press "S" I then select "AMD AHCI Compatible RAID Controller-x86 platform" and press enter.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI downloaded a video file (12.2GB) from my digital video camera, made my movies and saved them, then I deleted the downloaded file but the memory (12.2GB) is still occupied on my system. After defragmenting my hard drive the report tells me the 12.2GB file is unable to be defragemented so I know the file is somewhere but I can not find the AVI file nor the folders RECYCLER or NPROTECT. This is eating a huge chunk of my hard drive and I need to get rid of it.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI saw another thread on this issue, but it didn't quite fit, so I thought I'd get others opinions. This computer was built for me by a non-major vendor. I consider myself semi-computer literate, and feel comfortable with most work required inside my case. Let me start by saying that this issue happens most often when I've woken my computer up from sleep mode. I have made no major changes to the hardware or software recently. What I did do was move the computer, rather gently, 2100 miles to my new home in a new city. The PC is under warentee, but the original vendor is rather far away. I also noticed that the first time I booted the computer after the move, the computer made a funny noise. It sounded like something (either a fan of the HD) was spinning improperly. I immediately powered down my system and rebooted, and have not had the noise since.

I've also noticed that on the boot screen, my PC no longer seems to be doing a memory test, or showing my 3 gigs of memory. In windows, it appears the system sees the memory, but the memory test seems absent on boot. I have no problems, so far, running resource heavy programs. This seems, like I've said, to happen only when I sleep then wake up my PC. Rebooting from this screen will cause the PC to reboot itself constantly, but turning the PC off and rebooting seems to give me no errors, again, until I sleep it.
I cannot figure out hpow to use win xp pro's backup utility. I have folowed the instructions, but always get an error meassage: The backup file name could not be used "D:ackup..bka' Please be sure it is a valid path and that you have sufficent access. Ok, what's happening here? I downloaded a demo copy of Nero 6 and instantaly made a backup. Why is the utility built into xp pro giving me a problem?

View 10 Replies View RelatedCan someone tell me why, when I open a notepad file, whether from notepad or from Start Documents or what have you, I always get an error message: "Windows cannot find [file locationfilename.txt]. Make sure you type the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search." However, the file does open in notepad behind this error message and I am able to view it, edit it, etc.
I would like this error message not to appear every time (it is really just an annoyance to cancel it every time but after a couple of years I am tired of it) so I tried to find this answer in the archives but to no avail. However, I saw that it was recommended by more than one tech guy (or gal) to save a "hijack this" file in notepad, so I followed the instructions and did that just after my latest error message... The "hijack this" copy of the notepad file follows, and if you see anything else that I should make note of please let me know....
I have three (3) questions:1. When I'm closing down Windows XP (Home Edition), I continually receive an error showing "XtkU.exe" cannot. I have checked everywhere and cannot find out what this file is associated with. In addition I have gone through my system and purged all files associated with this executable from the registry. They pop right back in there with a system restart. I'm lost and confused now because I don't know what application uses this file.2. When closing down I receive the same Norton error message another user gets."ccaps.exe" at signoff. I will try and remove Norton to see if that works. 3. The user "quick switch" does not work any longer. I am not sure what is causing that either. Do you think it may be associated with the WtkU file?

For example, today, I had five windows up (IE, Trend Micro Control Panel, My Documents Folder, Windows Media Player, and Photoshop) and I tried opening an eBook pdf file. When I did this, I kept getting an error message. I did this two or three times and the same thing happened. I closed Photoshop and tried opening my eBook pdf file again and this time it worked. Is my RAM going bad? I'll notice if I have six or seven windows open, IE starts to act up as well by not showing all of a website's images, form fields, etc. I know I've installed a GoToMyPC application in the last week or so. I have disabled, so it doesn't open when Windows starts, but I'm not sure if that was the problem.

I cant rename the file,the context menu for the file is different than any other file, removing the Rename, Delete, and everything Useful... I cant open the File, btw was supposed to be a picture... My OS is XP Pro with a 160gb western digital hard drive.I was attempting to use Partition Magic to install another OS and something went wrong and now the computer wont boot up.I have tried everything I can think of but I am unable to fix it.I am getting an error message "invalid system disk, remove the disk and click on enter". I would like to format this drive and start over. I have gone into the bios and set the CD-ROM drive to boot first but no matter what drive I make first, I get the same error message mentioned above. The problem I have is actually driving me nuts.I freshly installed Vista after formatting the drive and when I point to the only desktop icon which is the recycle bin I get this dialog asking if I want to send it to the recycle bin.No matter how many times I click on NO it won't go away and in my frustration I reboot the Laptop. have formatted the laptop several times and installed WIndows 7 and had the same problem. I also formatted and partitioned the drive and still had the same problem.I added a few more icons to the desktop and the same thing would happen if I pointed the mouse at them.
When ever I start or restart my computer, this message box pops up and it says, Error loading C:sindowssystem32stlbdist.dll The specified module could not be found.I am running Windows XP Home. I upgraded from Windows ME. I know that that is not the cause. I just thought I would mention which OS I have. I think this showed up after I uninstalled Limewire, but I'm not sure.
