I updated to Windows Mail Live and all my previous e-mails in Hot Mail are now not available. I believe they are on the server. What i have to do to retrieve them? Running XP Pro.

I've done several reinstalls before, and I usually just go in and save the Outlook Express mail & address book folders to a USB drive. This time it's Windows Live Mail, which I've never used before. How is the e-mail & address book saved?

I have several OE accounts on my computer - personal, business and photography business. Can I have Windows Live Mail for ONE account and the rest with OE? I like the way that finding attachments is so much easier with Windows Live Mail than with OE. But I hate that all of the email from all of my OE accounts download all together on Windows Live Mail. If I can't use WLM then I may opt for Outlook on one account.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI had a complete computer failure & got a new one. Qwest-MSN helped w/ reloading all my preveous emails. Then I began having error messages that "OE has encountered unknown problems & has to shut down" or it would just freeze up for no reason. Emails were coming in in duplicats. (2 of every email in the inbox) (*This problem is still happening)
They had me delete my account & start over several times. Then they forwarded me all my emails they had on their system. OVER 1,000 BEGAN COMING IN! NONE TO THE INBOX! (hidden file) We put a stop to it and began searching where these were being hidden. Since getting the new computer I have not been able to get Spell Check in my OE 6.0 I am told 6.0 does not have this. I had it before changing computers and I used 6.0 then also.
I store *.EML files in various folders around my computer, and I use Outlook Exress File/Save As feature, to do this. Each time I open these files from within these folders, Windows Live Mail takes control. I have been trying to change the File Association, but I cannot find Outlook Express, listed anywhere.

Question: Can Outlook Express be uninstalled or do I just leave it where it is in All Programs. I know it is interrogated software with Windows XPSP2, so I guess I just leave it be. I had a glitch in the signature area of Outlook Express and when I installed Windows Live Mail, the glitch came over with the importing of everything from Outlook Express....darn it. To describe the glitch.....when I go to attach a signature saved in Windows Live Mail a message appears on the desktop saying WLM has to close as there is a problem with the software. The main reason I decided to install Windows Live Mail was to rid myself of this particular glitch in Outlook Express, but unfortunately the glitch was imported along with all the messages, folders, signatures and options chosen from Outlook Express.

View 2 Replies View RelatedFor Some odd reason, After I downloaded an AVG free update I lost my desktop. All the profiles on my computer only show the background when you open them. All programs still operate correctly. I can open the task manager and run programs from it, but all the icons and the start bar are gone. I am not able to open any display controls, nor can I right click and get any options. I am not even able to pull up the control panel.

Nothing seems to work. I have a 64 bit computer but my XP home is a 32 bit. I tried to turn off all firewalls and Norton and nothing seems to work. But when the e-mail is written in cyrillic I cannot read it. I found out that when the message is sent as Unicode (Tools --> Options --> Mail Format --> International Options. For MS Outlook) I can read it, otherwise - I can't. But I cannot tell everyone that writes mails to me to do it that way, because not everyone is using Outlook. So is there any option in Exchange that will convert every e-mail that has arrived in Unicode, and that way I could read all cyrillic e-mails on my BB?

It was working fine. after sometime i surprised i couldn't find any mail under my local folder like before. No mails found in Local Folder of Thunderbird Email Client. But i can see the 2 GB File INBOX in the HDD. But cannot see in Mozilla Email Client. I just need to retrieve the mails.

When the Inbox and Junk links do show, momentarily, they are shown as double images printed over the existing words "Related Places, Today, Contact List, and Calender" since they changed to the new Hotmail version last week, which makes it impossible to open the Inbox and Junk links.
