I'm having trouble w/forwarding e-mails that have pix. Does that have anything to do w/directx? When I did a search on my computer for directx it said read only is that what it should be? Basicly what is directx/what does it do?
I was looking in my task manager and I have 40 processes running. Out of those 40, the process with the highest use of CPU is the 'System Idle Process' which hovers around the 95-100 range. What is it, and do I need it running?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have problem in Mozilla Thunderbird Email Cleint, recently due to mail exceeding overlimit in gmail i have started downloading the mails. It was working fine. after sometime i surprised i couldn't find any mail under my local folder like before. No mails found in Local Folder of Thunderbird Email Client. But i can see the 2 GB File INBOX in the HDD. But cannot see in Mozilla Email Client. I just need to retrieve the mails.

I did a search on google and found that some people said XP does not support directX 10, but then when you go to the directX website to download it, Windows XP IS under the list of "Supported Operating Systems". So is 10 supported by XP, or do I have to download 9.0c?

I click a forwarding link I get a freeze job and I have to "End Task" to get out of I.E. and back to Desk Top.This is frustrating and I would like to resolve the problem.I have removed and reinstalled I.E. but it did not change anything.I have run malware checks with no infections indicated. I have run Norton "quick check" with no virus shown.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Blackberry (BB) and in our firm we have MS Exchange server 2000. So when an e-mail arrives, it is sent to my BB too. But when the e-mail is written in cyrillic I cannot read it. I found out that when the message is sent as Unicode (Tools --> Options --> Mail Format --> International Options. For MS Outlook) I can read it, otherwise - I can't. But I cannot tell everyone that writes mails to me to do it that way, because not everyone is using Outlook. So is there any option in Exchange that will convert every e-mail that has arrived in Unicode, and that way I could read all cyrillic e-mails on my BB?

I use a geneology program that automatically compresses data when you save a file so that a large amount of data can be stored on a floppy disk.
I recently sent some information to an individual via email and that person requested that I use snail mail instead because it took forever to download on their dial up connection. Using "properties" I look at the size of the file at it was 2.25 MB. I thought perhaps compressing the data would not take it so long to download so I placed it in a Windows XP Compressed folder and then looked at the size of that folder and it was 2.19 MB. Not much of a reduction and would probably take just as long for that person to download. Am I doing something wrong?

It sounds like a good set-up for my own personal needs, but I thought I'd post it here and get a few opinions about it. If you have the space for it on your software harddrive, make an extra partition (a physical harddrive can be divided into several logical drives, behaving as different harddrives) for only music work and a partition for all the other stuff. You can have 2 different installs of windows (doesen't even have to be the same version) on the two partitions, so you can uptimize the one for music and keep it free of all the ekstra software that you want to have on your everyday office/gaming computer. I've done that since I started using my computers as DAWs 4 years ago, and it works very well.
How to setup a multipartition system:
*If installing all over, and able to format the whole harddrive (By far the best solution!!)*
1a. Backup anything on the harddrive that you might need again to another physical drive or another computer.
2a. Boot from the Windows installation disk and use the menus in the beginning to delete any existing partitions on the harddrive (will delete EVERYTHING on the disk, so backup FIRST if reusing a harddrive)...............

Then I began having error messages that "OE has encountered unknown problems & has to shut down" or it would just freeze up for no reason. Emails were coming in in duplicats. (2 of every email in the inbox) (*This problem is still happening)
They had me delete my account & start over several times. Then they forwarded me all my emails they had on their system. OVER 1,000 BEGAN COMING IN! NONE TO THE INBOX! (hidden file) We put a stop to it and began searching where these were being hidden. Since getting the new computer I have not been able to get Spell Check in my OE 6.0 I am told 6.0 does not have this. I had it before changing computers and I used 6.0 then also.
I think I am losing what little sanity that I have left. I am having a couple of problems and they seem to be linked. Let's see if I can explain this so that it makes sense. I downloaded directx 9.oc last week don't know where it went because when I try to run "dxdiag" it says that I have vers 8.1 then everything crashes and all that I can do is push the reset button. Then when everything comes back I get an error message about the nv4_disp.dll
