I just downloaded IE7 to my Dell XPS400. Everything appears to have gone well thus far with one exception. I have either lost or can't identify the Outlook Express Icon on the new toolbar.

View 14 Replies View RelatedAt the bottom of OE I find the following, "0 message(s), 0 unread, 297010 not downloaded" How do I get rid of all these not downloaded messages? I have deleted all messages from the box. Also if I look in "Local Drive (C)" and in folder "Outlook Express Stored Folder" it shows the following "microsoft.public.windowsxp.help and support.dbx" at 267,707 kb I am getting messages to compress files to get more space. Can I delete the folder "microsoft.public.windowsxp.help and support.dbx"? And will it automatically be replaced. I also use "Catch Up" , Sync setting are set for "New Messages Only"

Also some do not even carry attachments, most are text.I go a little further and open the email, an error message is still there but now says to free some memory. So I do a disk clean-up, and check the hard drive and notice that I have more than enough memory. Tried to forward these to another machine but the forward and even reply buttons are blocked.Also i just noticed that from 3rd party it might be something such as spam mail/phishers but I'd like to assume that it is not. The addresses are from clients/friends and the subject of the emails are relative.And the weird thing is is that it started doing this from 9/17 all the way to 10/5 but everything before and after that time works fine.
When I click on the Outlook Express icon, nothing happens. Also, when I try to access add/remove programs in the control panel, I get the following script error msg:

I am using XP with office 2000. I work with Word, Excell and Access. I would like to be able to email from inside any of these programs for the tool bar. How do I replace the icon for outlook express with yahoo and get the same results

created an identity on Windows XP for each of my parents. Tried to set it up where Outlook Express could be used identically from both identities,but could not. Used the Import/Export from OE to attempt to send the address book and messages to other identity, and now they aren't found in either identity's OE program. I also lost these 2 entries from the quick launch bar on the left, beside the START button. Obviously IE is still on the system because I'm here.

Then I began having error messages that "OE has encountered unknown problems & has to shut down" or it would just freeze up for no reason. Emails were coming in in duplicats. (2 of every email in the inbox) (*This problem is still happening)
They had me delete my account & start over several times. Then they forwarded me all my emails they had on their system. OVER 1,000 BEGAN COMING IN! NONE TO THE INBOX! (hidden file) We put a stop to it and began searching where these were being hidden. Since getting the new computer I have not been able to get Spell Check in my OE 6.0 I am told 6.0 does not have this. I had it before changing computers and I used 6.0 then also.

I am running Outlook 2003 and I no longer see the Norton AntiSpam Toolbar where it used to be as well as the Norton AntiSpam Folder which was sitting below the Deleted Items Folder. They have practically disappeared at different times one from another. XP SP2 musn't be blamed because this issue has sprung up prior to its installation. Last week I did install NIS 2005 but the music hasn't changed, The Norton Toolbar & Folder still no-show. I believe this has got to do with the so-called plug-ins.Is there anybody out there who knows if any chance to get them back without having to uninstall/re-install Outlook 2003 or whatever?

On IE when we made Yahoo our browser, the toolbar words and toolbar icon pics look much smaller than before and that is a prob for my husband who is legally blind. I have already increased the size of the icons on the desktop and also in the start menu list, but have no idea what to do to increase size of the items on the IE/Yahoo.com tool bars at top of page ie: File, Edit, View, etc. And also the back/forward/refresh/stop/ and home icons up there.

View 7 Replies View RelatedWell I reinstalled XP SP2 then after working for awhile i noticed my sound was not functioning. The icon was not showing up on the toolbar currently running programs( which it usually does ). Then went into ADDRomove programs to uninstall. I recieved an error " The RPC server is unavailable ". I then saw that sound devices in Properties said it was not working properly, well after everything I thought a SYSTEM REPAIR would work that didn't work eighter. Then i saw in MSCONFIG there was one Service that was unchecked DCOM server process, this service would stay that way evertime i restarted. So I then reinstalled the sound software from a CD. In installation the error code 110, RPC "server unavailable or has been corrupted".
