View 8 Replies View RelatedI am trying to install XP Home Edition on an ECS KT600-A motherboard with an 80 gig hard drive and I get a message on the desktop that the VIA CPU to AGP 2.0/AGP 3.0 Controller is missing.
The message also states that the driver I need to correct this problem is on the VIA AGP Filter Driver Disk. I have tried to find this disk to download it but I have not been able to find it.
Does anyone know where I can download this disk? If so, what is the webaddress where I can download it?
My home computer is not connected to the net and I need to obtain Service pack 2. Does anyone have a link that will allow me to download the service pack to a disk or CD if it's too big for disk?
View 2 Replies View RelatedPentium III, XP Pro machine: Recently did 2 clean re-installs (due to malware problems),& was working fine. Then ran rkill & Malwarebytes to get rid of Antivirus 7. Seemed OK after that. Then installed & ran TweakNow Power Pack (registry clean), Smart Defrag(deep optimization) & Revo Uninstaller. The machine began to slow down after using these utilities (I DO NOT know if they were the cause, or if it was just coincidence). Then ran Malwarebytes again, then Avast, found 50+ malware items. The machine keeps getting slower, it's now almost unusable. It boots, but incredibly sluggish, Internet Explorer takes forever to connect, constantly "hangs" for very long periods, HDD almost always churning.I'm thinking that maybe one of the utilities deleted some files needed by the os, maybe a repair install the thing to try. I cannot find this "Free XP Repair Disk Download" that is supposed to be available at the MS XP download site.

This is a charter.net email.Next thing is I lost mozilla so went to install this, pressed on the download button and a window tried to come up but it goes away and cant download programs, this happens on every site I try to download anything.Next problem, anything I try to print will not print using the file print button, or using the right click, print option.next problem is when shutting down computer i get this message: 0xuc91519d referencing memory 0x0008000c, memory could not be read.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell Inspiron E1505 with Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3. I had Internet Explorer 7, and for about a month I would get a "Error: Operation Aborted" every now and then and I would have to open a new window, so Friday morning I downloaded Internet Explorer 8 Beta to see if it would remove the problem. It didn't, so I tried Firefox, but I found both IE 8 and Firefox to be annoying, so I decided to remove them both and go back to IE 7, but this caused a whole different problem. I think that I might have done something wrong while removing the programs because now IE doesn't work at all. Now whenever I click on IE, the IE screen will flash for about a second and then disappear.

View 5 Replies View RelatedAfter downloading a game, I found out I needed Microsoft DirectX SDK to make it work. I downloaded it but now it's telling me:There is not enough free disk space on drive C:The amount of free space required on the drive is 1, 124, 040,704 bytes. The space currently available on the drive is 612, 560, 896 bytes.
I've tried getting rid of as much as I could on my computer (Microsoft XP by the way) but it didn't make much difference. And I really don't have much at all on it either.
For several weeks now I haven't been able to download/update Windows updates. I have been working with Microsoft Tech Support (via the telephone)for several days now and we haven't been able to correct the problem(s). My question is... can I use the Windows Installation disk to "fix" any problems my machine is having with the downloads/updates? Is there a "fix" option on the Windows disk and am I at risk in using it? I don't want to lose anything on my desktop because it is the way I want it at this time.
