For some reasson my task bar no longer shows my open documents. What did I click to cause this and how do I get it back to show them?

PCI device listing, Verifying DMI Pool Data, Boot from CD. But when this card reader is disconnected before booting my computer, the computer boots up normally. I would like to know why I have to disconnect this card reader everytime I want to boot up the computer.

I have another primary computer, so it doesn't hurt me to lose all the files etc. I'd rather start with a clean slate. Anyway, the XP install from the disc with SP1 went fine. Then I installed SP2 per the request of the windows update monitor. The install proceeded fine until a copy error occurred.Copy Erro Error occurred while copying file sprb0414.dll.Cannot copy file to directory.

When the PC boots up I get the following error message: Cannot boot from CD - Code: 5. The CD ROM spins up and sounds like its working fine. It was working fine before I tried to install.

installation stops with the same error message. The error message is (access
denied). I have tried countless times to install this update using automatic updates as well as using the CD, all with negative results I'm about ready to update my operating system to XP Professional, I have XP Home Edition. Before installation I followed all the preperation instructionsfound on the Windows website.
Sometimes when I cut/copy folders from one location to another the process will stop and give an error message cannot move file with a red x. Clicking on ok cancells the whole cut/copy operation, which can leave you wondering what has or has not been moved and requires trawling through source and target location. Gets a bit annoying when it happens fairly often.

I bought a blank dvd from Walgreens and tried to burn a dvd data disc. An error message came up which said the disc was the wrong media. Is it possible the disc is made for newer drives and I need a slower media or something? What do I look for?

Every time I'm online, I get an error message which will then ask to send a report or debug or cancel. Debug doesn't work, and all options shut down the connection and sound capability, necessitating a reboot. If I ignore the popup, I can stay online, and eventually get another popup announcing an exception.

I recently had a computer crash and die, it was an old computer, I don't know what went wrong, I don't really care now because I realize it was old and got a new computer. Anyway I knew my hard drive was still good and I have important data on it that I needed, so i removed it and bought a hard drive enclosure. I hooked it up to my new computer and everything is coming up fine, but my "e://documents and settings/owner/" folder. That was the administrative account document folder that I used for my work. When I try to open it it's giving my an 'Access Denied" error. I can access all the other accounts just fine.

This includes "My Documents", "Control Panel", and of course Internet Explorer. When I click My Documents, it thinks about it, then all the icons on the desktop disappear for a moment and all that I have is the background image. Then the icons return and Explorer does not open. operating system went corrupt on the primary SATA HD in my rig and I was forced to <skips the pointless stuff>...basically here I am installing a fresh XP on a new internal. Meanwhile, I hooked up the old HD to an external to rip off the files. good news is that it was able to be read and I could pull off the files. Program files with preferences for my ggames, pretty much everything... EXCEPT My Documents for the primary user (Brian). It says access is denied to this folder, and is marked as read only. Basically, I need a way to get into that folder and get the information out of it. It has all my school/work files (most of which are backed up but some I need), and I'm not exactly sure how to go about that.

I believe the problem might be with a corrupt file setupapi.log or Windows Image Aquisition. I have two such files and I do not know whether I am supposed to have two or not.
