Jan 27, 2006How do I delete previously visited web addresses from the drop-down box of the address toolbar? I've highlighted then "delete" to no avail.

Jun 27, 2005I'm using Windows XP Pro and I open folders on my computer with shortcut like "Ctrl + Alt + "Letter key". To get this to work I created hidden shortcuts on my Desktop and under: Properties/"Shortcut" tab/"Shortcut key" Field. I added a shortcut key, by then pressing this particular "shortcut key" the folder attach to the shortcut folder will open. So far so good but once in a while out of the blue these shortcuts stop working all at once, restarting the computer ect doesn't fix the problem, the only way I found the shortcuts will start working again is by clearing the "shortcut key" field under Properties/"Shortcut" Tab then clicking ok, opening up properties again and adding once again the shortcut key on the "shortcut field" Why Do I have to keep reentering the shortcut keys on the shortcut folders for this to work? Any idea what can I do to prevent the shortcut command from stop working on the future?

Jul 6, 2008Recently, my XP windows drop down bar has taken on a ghostly apperance (non-apperance). When I right click on a menu item, I see a ghoast of the right side and bottom line of the dropdown list, but no choice text. Only after I mouse over each of the dropdown choices does any text appear. I find this somewhat concerning, because I don't know what caused the change.Where can I redefine the appearance of the dropdown. I tried looking in Display but don't know the location to adjust.

Apr 29, 2007I am running window XP Pro and suddenly I am having some major issues. Not sure if it's a virus, spyware or something else. I've run AVG free virus scan and AVG free spyware and got nothing out of it.I've also formatted my hard drive and re-installed windows and STILL have the problems. Here's what's happening if ANYONE can get this fixed for me, you're a real pro.First off, I can't drag and drop anything.I can right click and copy (or cut) then paste elsewhere, but I can't move desktop icons around, or drag them to the recycle bin, or any sort of drag and drop.
Also, very frequently, all the sudden, I won't be able to click anything. No shortcuts, no quick launch icons, NOTHING! My computer acts kinda like it's hung, but the mouse works fine, just when I mouse over a button or icon, I get nothing, same thing when I click the button or icon nothing. however, I have oddly noticed that if I press CRTL+ALT+DEL, then simply close down the task manager right away, without doing anything, my PC will let me click icons and buttons again, but still no drag and drop after a few minutes it'll mess up on me again, then CTRL+ALT+DEL and close task manager again to get back in business.

Jan 8, 2007I am having difficulty with text diplaying in bizarre fashion. The machine is a Dell Optiplex tower operating Windows XP Pro. When I am in an application or browsing web pages and choose one of the dropdown boxes, the box drops down and shows the outside lines of the box. Then when you swipe your cursor over the dropdown it will display the text that is invisible. All that I have to do to show the text is pass the cursor over the area. If I do not swipe the are with the cursor the text will be there, I assume, but never display.Has anyone encountered this issue before.

Microsoft Not Drop Prices
Mar 17, 2006Why doesn't Microsoft see this and drop it's prices. Everytime they release a new version of windows they talk like now finally all problems are over while in some cases of the platform the problems even got worse. I'm really curious if private pc users for example still have to give away their half month salary when Windows Vista arrives in being able to buy it. No wonder there is so much illigal activity going on. Many people cant afford it due to the Euro economy in Europe. I think that when microsoft drops it's insane high prices they will sell a lot more copies and in the end make more profit out of it.
