I feel like I went back to a pentinum 1 486mh and 16 mb of ram....... I cant figure out what is wrong with my comp. I have run virus scan, spywear scan, done a defrag, and every thing is fine. There is nothing in the startup menu on msconfig screen. but yet my comp takes like 3 mins to restart. getting on the internet with Road Runner takes like 5 mins.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI only noticed it earlier today, but for some reason I noticed that my machine was running a little slow this morning. So I did the usuall Disk Cleanup, Defrag and Check Disk. But to no avail my CPU is still running @ 100% without fluxuating(sp).
I also perform a spybot scan as well as a virus scan.
My Laptop seems to be running pretty slow...especially for the 1gig of RAM I have and the 10Meg cable service..I have done a Hi-jackthis log

(I'm sure there is, stopped looking after 45 minutes) It doesn't seem to slow my computer at all. I AM running quite a bit on here as far as spyware, virus scans, webshots, etc. It's also a media center 2004 computer with all the trim so there are quite a few windows processes on there. Even with AOL running, my computer is only using 430MB of RAM and I have 1GB.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIve been having troubles with my comp Programs are opening up slowly and generaly most thing are slow.The main thing that i notice is when trying to attached a item to a emil in outlook i will click insert/file/cdrive/this file/ that file, it takes somewhere between 1-2 min to open cdrive and each click.
Another thing that i noticed was that when i remove the usb keyboard and mouse 1-2 min later i will get the soud of being removed.I get alot of programs not responding but after a while they do, eg when shutting down a associated program with the printer almost allways pops up not resonding but does after a while.
my laptop is running kinda slow and I just wanted to post a hijackthis log cause I think I've got some spyware that isn't showing up in spybot or somthing.

Just before it started I changed the desktop appearence on my display settings. It started running slow from this point.I then tried to start i-tunes and it crashed.The ususal whirring noise (hard disk?) now sounds like a ticking. My virus programs took care of the viruses but also deleted some of the start up software that is used to boot up my computer correctly. as a last ditch effort I used the system restore function on my computer to reboot it back to a previous configeration. The computer booted back to its original out of the box configuration and I lost all my computer files (but on the flip side my computer was working perfectly now that this was done)
I take the computer to the repair shop so that they can do a deep memory scan to recover my files. They find some of the files and put them in a file folder located on my desktop. i am told by the techie working on my computer that there is a series of .dll errors at the start of windows and that they are the result of a viral infection (Obviously the system restore i did did not do its job of ridding me of the viruses. I did not notice the .dll errors when i initially did the system restore, but that doesn't mean that they weren't there)
I have run my adaware, spybot, and virus scan....nothing comes up...but my computer is running very slow....I need to know why pages aren't loading as fast as they were.

But the moment I reboot Windows reinstalls them again and after my next reboot my data transfer, and my comp in general is slow again.I have no clue as to why my comp runs fine without those controllers, but the moment they auto-install my comp becomes slow and jerky again.

So i have the windows xp cd but my drive hasnt been readin anything lately ! it wont boot it at all. i dont know what to do. my drive isnt dead i dont think it still makes noise and opens and closes on command and it lights up still. i need to get my drive to work so i can fix my hard drive.
I was running a virus scan using AVG free it nearly completed then crashed to a reboot, this has happened before, but upon restart it went through the usual "System has recovered from a serious problem would you like to send an error report" which I did, it transferred the report to Microsoft and instead of the windows oca (Online crash analysis) site I got a window on the screen showing the web address for oca saying that "The application was not found"

I have run a virus scan with my Norton's antivirus which fixed 4 infected files. I then ran Ewido anti-malware whcih fixed another 4 infected files but I' am still getting the message my computer is infected. I ran killjackthis and saved the report but cannot tell from the entires what might be causing the problem. I was wondering if anyone could help me out.
