Infinite Loop Fix Looping Power Supply

Sep 9, 2002

The best solution to most issues with looping is POWER SUPPLY. Due to the huge amount of resources that video cards, sound cards, larger cpu's, they suck your power supply to the point that application cant perform. In turn it causes lockup, reboot and boot to desk top.A lot of resellers are only slapping in a 300watt power supply in newer systems. That doesn't work, you need at least a 400watt or greater. You need at least 450watt POWER SUPPLY. Take my word on it.This is the biggest issue i have studied on the net and in my lab for 1 1/2 years now. So many people have taken components back to the stores had them tested, to find out there is nothing wrong with them and go around shaking there heads in wonderment, without even considering power supply.

Nv4_disp Infinite Loop For Video Card

Dec 23, 2008

Computer is not is a very slight increase in memory voltage. i have tried basic standard voltage setting as well as slightly higher settings. A game, or anything using 3d or direct x causes the problem. at first i got a hang and total system freeze. had no error or bsod.specifically the game was FSX sp2. also occured with command and conquer red alert 3, and sins of a solar empire. additionaly 3dmark06 did the same thing. specifically the games or program would load fine but once it started the first screen or opening graphic it just freezes the entire system. i have to reboot via reset button. and windows load just fine. only 3d programs or games does this. no bsod until last night i finally got the nv4_disp infinite loop error.

Nv4_disp Infinite Loop 680i And Nvidia Mb's

Jan 5, 2009

Ok, I have solved "MY" nv4 loop error. It is not a software fix however. After I and most people have tried every fix out there, I decided to go to the root of the problem. The memory. I ran boot up with each DIMM alone. I use 3 1gb OCZ 6400's . 2 of these DIMM's ran any program that crashed before with no problem, only 1 did not. I ran the 2 DIMM's together and no more error. I have heard that there is an issue with the 680i motherboards giving incorrect voltage to memory or that it reads incorrect voltage . In either case on memory module is bad. While I consider this a final troubleshoot victory , it isnt cheap. But none the less im happy with the outcome.

WinSetup Infinite Loop / Quickly Goes To Blank Screen

Dec 7, 2004

I decided to do a fresh install of Windows XP Home. So, I put in the WinXP Install CD and set the BIOS to boot to CD. I deleted the partition (only one on my 60GB hard disk), created a new one, and formatted it NTFS - all by following directions in the Windows XP Setup program on the CD. Then I chose to setup WinXP on that formatted partition. The CD copies a bunch of files over, then tells me to remove disks and restart the computer. So, I do. I boots to the hard drive and gives me the "Windows XP Home Edition" screen with the moving green bar at the bottom while it's loading. Then it quickly goes to a rather blank screen that says "Setup is being restarted," strange moving lines cover the screen, and the computer restarts. It then does the same thing over, and over, and over again. I've tried repartitioning and restarting the setup process several times, trying every available option but after Windows Setup restarts the first time, it gets into that infinite loop of never proceeding to the next step of setup.

An Infinite Loop To Safemode / Changed The BOOT.INI Section

Aug 18, 2007

I changed the BOOT.INI section of msconfig to boot windows in Safemode. Upon getting in Safemode, the computer finally recognized USB devices and the CD drive again (wasn't doing so in normal mode). So, I insert a Windows XP disc, used the Advanced install mode (the one that overwrites the previous installation of Windows), and everything seemed to be going great.

However, the machine restarts and tells me this "Windows XP Setup cannot run under Safemode. Setup will restart now." and has an OK button. I click it, thinking it's going to boot into normal mode. Well, it doesn't. It boots up again, says the same thing.I click OK.Restart.Again.OK.On and on into infinity.

Tried To Boot Into Safe Mode; Infinite Restart Loop

Aug 4, 2006

I was attempting to boot into safe mode through the BOOT.INI /SAFEBOOT function in MSCONFIG. After restarting to boot into safe mode, my computer would restart ten seconds into the login screen. This happens every single time and I cannot get back into Windows to uncheck the /SAFEBOOT box. The computer that I am typing on right now allows the user to choose the boot method before entering Windows. It has an old ASUS board and is running Windows XP Pro w/ SP2.

My primary computer (the one that is restarting) has an ASUS A8N-E and is running Windows XP Home w/ SP2, latest updates. Is there anything I can press (one of the F keys, perhaps?) that will prompt me to choose the booting method? Safe mode has restarted on me before, but not like this. I tried setting the motherboard to defualts in my BIOS, but that was just a stab in the dark, as I don't see what that has to do with this problem. I am thinking about setting my motherboard to defualts by opening up the case, etc. but I don't think that will do anything.

Ati2dvag.dll File / Infinite Loop Blue Screen Comes

Apr 12, 2006

I have an Asus W3H00V (which came with the Mobility Radeon X600) that I use for word processing, internet, and watching videos, though never really use it for gaming. After about a couple of months of use, my laptop suddenly always hangs with a blue screen popping up saying that there's an infinite loop problem that's caused by the file ati2dvag.dll, especially when watching videos. I've tried uninstalling and installing Windows XP (w/ sp2) four times and also uninstalling and installing the ATI drivers that came with my computer numerous times but nothing seems to work. I can't get any work done on my computer because an error window also always pop up and hangs my computer very frequently. I've tried searching for solutions in the internet but none seems to work.

Infinite Boot Loop, Even Safe Mode Won't Work

Aug 6, 2007

I was incredibly bored and I downloaded an old DOS VGA version of The Oregon Trail from the-underdogs. I used VDMsound to run it, and everything seemed to work alright until i got sick of the game and tried to quit. It locked up, i used ctrl-alt-del a few times, got impatient and stupidly switched off the computer just as i was being dumped back to windows. When i turned the computer back on, i was given the "safe mode" prompt, so i chose to start in safe mode. It then showed that list of system files(?) it was loading until it gets to "d347bus.sys" and asks if i want to press escape to skip loading it. Regardless of whether i press esc or not, it moves on to "SPTD.sys" and asks the same question. After i press escape (or not), i get a black screen, then the computer restarts again back to the safe mode prompt. If i try to "start windows normally" i get to the Windows XP loading screen, the progress bar moves a bit then the whole thing restarts again. Safe mode with command prompt, safe mode with networking, last known good configuration, none of these work, they all result in this maddening infinite loop.

Infinite Logon Loop / Immediatley Logs Off To The Logon Screen

Sep 22, 2004

My computer starts up normally. It always just autologs on since I'm the only one using my windows xp computer. However, before anything can be displayed it immediatley logs off to the logon screen. I click my username and start the login process (i have no password and before even switching to my wallpaper or anything it says stuff like logging out and saving your settings.

I tried booting in safe mode too and the same infinite logon loop occured to, even with the default administrator account. The last thing I remember doing before this happened is I was playing City of Heroes when it crashed forcing me to restart my computer. This happens occasionally in certain programs but I've never had anything like this happen before. I tried unplugging my keyboard, mouse, usb devices, ethernet cable, no luck. Login Loop- OS Is XP Professional

Oct 13, 2004

My OS is XP Professional. I rebooted my PC & when I got to the login screen, I press Ctrl-Alt-Del. I go to the password screen & enter my password. XP then displays 'Loading your personal settings'. after a few seconds, it displays 'closing network connections' & 'saving your settings' & goes back to the login screen asking me to press ctrl-alt-del to login. This loop is happening whether I try to log to the domain or try to login as stand alone. If I enter wrong password XP says so & ask me to enter correct password. I am able to access my PC through another computer though & check the hard disk for any virus no virus found.

After the 30 second countdown, the Windows splash screen appears half illuminated and it goes back to boot up again. In A Boot Up Loop Booting Up?

Nov 10, 2006

It's a good thing I have another computer to use...otherwise, I don't know how I would be able to ask these questions. My other machine is an HP a730n, 1 Gb RAM, 3 GHz, running with AVG anti-virus, all Windows updates in place. The machine was on overnight. Two programs were running (photoeditor, word processor). This machine also has two external drives connected to it, through USB ports. When I turned on my monitor, there was an error message displayed, but I didn't write it down. I clicked okay, and then the machine proceeded to shut down, and now it is going through an endless loop of trying to start windows. It initially gives me a screen with the options of safe mode, safe mode with networking, or command prompt, letting it start with the last known working configuration, or start windows normally. I've tried the start windows normally several times, to no avail. In safe mode, I clicked on Administrator, which then said it was starting windows up, but I then got a window that said "winlogon.exe application error. The instruction at "0x7498aaba" referenced memory at "0x00000008." The memory could not be read. Click cancel to debug, and OK to close.I also tried the last known good configuration, with the endless loop continuing.
