Oct 26, 2007I have a Gateway 7422GX which as a Mobility Radeon 9550. I repaired windows using the cd because I restarted my computer and it was either going to take 7min+ to boot, or just wasn't going to. I got stuck at the windows splash screen. I'm using windows professional. Whenever I try to install any of the drivers, I get the same error message: Setup did not find a driver compatible with your current hardware or operating system. Setup will now exit.

Aug 3, 2007I have this seriously big problem on my computer (well why else would i be here)i have a ACER Aspire L100 which is a VERY good pc.it used to have Media Centre edition as the operating system but it suddenly stopped working. so i was forced to install windows xp home edition.now when i install the sound driver ever time i try and open up a media program such as media player or itunes and turns around and tells me that there is a problem with the sound card and another program must be using it. The graphic driver is the other driver that wont install properly. when i run the installation i get a message that reads
ive tried and run windows update but it doesnt find anything.

Laptop Stopped Working And / Pre Installed With Window XP
Aug 31, 2007My laptop stopped working and it was pre installed with Win XP. I've lost the system recovery disk buta friend gave me theirs. when I inserted it I was asked for a serial number and duly put in the one on the bottom of the laptop but it was rejected.Nothing would work so I exited the menu and went out and purchased a brand new copy of the O/S. However when I put the disc in it keeps taking me back to the old screen which asks me for a serial number and it wont accept the one form the disk I purchased.

(Ick) I don't say that from a very valid standpoint, for I just find XP much lighter and easier to navigate. Like I'm running the computer, not the other way around. Well, I used the Vista installed partitioner to segregate a little chunk of my hard drive so that I could put XP onto the computer as well as Vista. While this was successful, I'm having a miserable time trying to find a driver for this video card. I've tried installing the Vista version, but it starts screaming that I'm retarded and that it's only for Vista (naturally). I know most of the drivers that were used in the Vista format work for XP as well.

I found the drivers that are supposed to work but still the sound is not working (seems like everything else does).I've tried both kinds of drivers that are available one was Realtek AC 97 something and the other one Sound MAX something none of them works anyway.

I did the repair install and booted to windows (in safe mode) but it crashed on agp440.sys, which seems to be a fairly common problem with outdated chipset drivers. I know I can disable this driver in the recovery console, but when I boot to my XP disk, it cannot find my XP installation, It just goes straight to the screen where I can pick a partition to install onto. How did my XP install get lost? I recently fixed up my boot records and everything was fine, I was always able to use the recovery console. Obviously the install is there since I can start booting to it.

I'm using LiveOne Care for security.I'd lime to know if the motherboard chipset drivers can be updated from within Windows without doing the floppy disk boot.
I'm running graphics on the VGA save mode and it is goofy scrolling down a screen watching the waves as the data clunks in. Can anyone suggest an easy install? ATI Radeon has been no help so far. By the way, Device Manager shows no video display components from which verify or update drivers.

Oct 5, 2007I recently bought a Motorola Razr V3m from Verizon. Everything works great except I cannot get the drivers to install to transfer music from the Vcast Music Manager to my phone. When I plug in my phone, it says "Found New Hardware Razr V3c". I don't know if this is because the V3m uses the same drivers, but none the less, it won't install. It will end up saying " Cannot Install this hardware". If I plug in my phone while it is off, it will detect it as "Motorola USB Modem" and complete the installation, but 30 seconds after turning it back on, it then again detects it as "Razr V3m". I have tried to install on 2 PCs, one running WinXP Pro, other running WinXP Media Center. I am using the CD that came in the "Vcast Music Essentials Kit".

However, when I plug it into my netbook and instruct Windows XP to automatically search/find and install the drivers, it can't find any.So I've gone onto the Canon website and manually downloaded the drivers, but when I try to install them via the setup.exe it says that a newer driver is already installed, and aborts the setup.The weird thing is that there definitely isn't a driver already installed, because I've even gone into device manager and uninstalled the printer/driver before trying again.

Nov 12, 2009I recently added a new sound card to my old computer. I have had this computer for nearly 3 years with zero problems. I installed a new sound card and installed the drivers. I now get through the mobo boot screen, then blackness, no BSoD, no Windows splash screen, nothing, just black. The computer is continuing to send a signal because the monitor does not go into power saving mode, but nothing happens after that. I've gone into BIOS and it is recognizing my HDD and my CD-ROM. I have tried booting from the disk, but the same thing happens, and yes, this is a legit copy made by MS.
