I have a Gateway 7422GX which as a Mobility Radeon 9550. I repaired windows using the cd because I restarted my computer and it was either going to take 7min+ to boot, or just wasn't going to. I got stuck at the windows splash screen. I'm using windows professional. Whenever I try to install any of the drivers, I get the same error message: Setup did not find a driver compatible with your current hardware or operating system. Setup will now exit.
Brief synopsis:I recently did a new Windows XP install (after a crash). Now I cannot get my printer to install. The printer is a SHARED printer (HP Deskjet F380) on another machine on the network. The printer was previous installed on this machine before the crash and reinstall of WinXP.After nearly 2 hours on the phone w/ HP support, it's been determined (by HP support) that somewhere in the XP install, a missing XP driver is keeping this install from properly allowing any printers to be installed. The printer will 'appear' to be installed, but any attempt to print brings an error saying printer drivers aren't properly installed.
I have this pentium 3 - 700 mhz computer which today I formatted and installed windows xp pro on it. The motherboard on the computer comes with a SIS 5598/6326 display adapter for which I been searching the internet for its WIN XP driver but havent found any except for the other versions of windows are available. What can I do if there is no WIN XP version of this driver?
I have this seriously big problem on my computer (well why else would i be here)i have a ACER Aspire L100 which is a VERY good pc.it used to have Media Centre edition as the operating system but it suddenly stopped working. so i was forced to install windows xp home edition.now when i install the sound driver ever time i try and open up a media program such as media player or itunes and turns around and tells me that there is a problem with the sound card and another program must be using it. The graphic driver is the other driver that wont install properly. when i run the installation i get a message that reads
ive tried and run windows update but it doesnt find anything.
Attempt to reinstall windows i have 2 striped drives, i need to reinstall my raid drivers but every time i try to install the drivers it always says that it can't read it, i finally got it to read but then it says this file caused an unexpected error and the installation fails and i'm back at my original installation of windows.
I bought a Dell Labtop from a friend which runs on Windows XP, but when i put a CD in the drive i get" Driver not found " can someone help me with this problem,
I'm trying to run a game program and I'm getting the error message saying, " The Midi driver for your sound card cannot be found. This program requires a Midi driver to be properly installed on your system. Please read your sound card's documentation to install the appropriate sound drivers."My sound card is working normally. The sound on my computer works.
I recently connected a faulty HDD to my working PC and it trashed it.I have managed to get it to boot now and reinstalled the graphics but the Soundmax drivers will not reinstall.I have tried downloading fresh drivers, and using the original motherboard driver disk, but I keep getting 'driver not found! reboot your system and run this setup again'.I have tried this but it doesn't work, neither does the install hardware wizard and soundmax doesn't appear in device manager. I have tried system restore and also tried to install soundmax in safe mode nothing works.
I've a problem with HDMI Audio after I've formated and reinstalled my PC, I've a "ATI HD RADEON 4870". When I intsalled the audiodriver which is ATI HDMI Audio, nothing shows in device manger and I can not select it as a sound playback source, I've reintsalled it several times now with any better luck,
After reinstalling Windows XP Home edition on my PC I have found that a driver for the Network Card could not be found (see attached file containing pics). In Device Manager the network card does not appear under network adapters but instead under other devices as an Ethernet Controller with a yellow question mark and exclaimation point. Unfortunately, Windows does not appear to have a driver and I can't connect to the internet to search for one.I tried installing DriverGuide which says the device is an "82551 10/100 Mbps Ethernet Controller" made by Intel.
I've tried googling, I've tried driver-guide and I tried just about every place I can think of but for the life of me, I just cannot seem to install this CDRom in WinXp SP2. Every time the computer reboots it finds this new hardware and cannot find the drivers anywhere! Internet or on my computer. It just can't find them. I've gone to Lite-On Site but with no luck. I would just toss this piece of out the window and just get a new one but the fact that it finds it tells me that it does works. My DVD-ROM has no problem.
My CD-Rom won't work, I mean theres power but it won't play anything. I tried the troubleshoot tips of uninstalling and then reinstalling, but it couldn't find the drivers. I can't find my installation disks, it won't even play audio CD's. I bought a new game and now I can't lay it.It is a Teac DV-516E. I think that the driver just needs to be reinstalled, but can't find anywhere, can I download it from the net or do I need the disk, what. I haven't messed with my computer in a while, so I have forgotten what I need to do.
Try to install .net Framework 2.0 and up, Notes: I can install and uninstall .Net Framework 1. I have .Net Framework 2.0 before but my brother uninstalled it. When I start up my pc i have 3 DLL messages saying they can't be found.
I am receiving an error as shown below: "C:windowssystem32xp-A59327F7" is not found ACPID driver error network controller driver error This system is a cloned. The original system I cloned is working fine. My OS is winxp.
I recently just re-installed windows xp on my hp pavilion laptop. When I attempted to install the sound driver off of hp site I receive an error message stating."Driver Installation Failed: Could not find the Media device for this driver."I have a basic understanding of operating systems. If you can please explain in detail. I don't know what other information to list. So if more is necessary I do my best to provide.
I tried to create a separate partition on this hard drive, using partition magic, to use for backup.I had just successfully created one on my other computer using partition magic five minutes ago.It went through all the steps and then told me that it did not successfully create the partition on this one.I tried to run the "create restore discs" utility and it kept asking for a floppy disc which my machine doesn't have.I then press enter and it brings up the black screen asking me to choose which operating system to start. The choices are: Windows Media Center or System Restore.
Windows XP. I have bought two keyboards, one USB, the other ps/2, but neither has changed a thing as far as eliminating the code 39 message I am getting when I go to device driver. There's also the exclamation point in yellow, that hasn't changed either. Things I have done include uninstalling and reinstalling, but since I can't do anything more than copy and paste, there isn't much I have been able to do as far as msconfig or safe mode. (I've tried to go to diagnostic mode via misconfig but it asks for an administrator password and I have learned passwords can't be copied and pasted).
I am working on a Gateway solo 9300 and installing xp. there are no peripherals attached. I am receiving the error INSTALLATION FAILED D:I386asms. It is telling me: the file "asms" on windows xp home edition service pack 2 cd is needed. Type the path where the file is located and then click okay.I enter d: ( my cd drive) and nothing. it says: globalrootdevice cdromoi386 in the path line. nothing. I have read as many posts here as I can and it is stopped in the middle of the installation at 39 minutes waiting for me to become an instant genius and solve it.
When I want to install certain programs, there is a set of error messages that makes the installation fail.If I push "ignore" then this message appears:
"c:Windowssystem32autoexec.nt. The system file is not suitable for running ms-dos and microsoft windows applications. Choose 'close' to terminate the application." I have a feeling that this is caused by a Norton antivirus program I installed couple years ago that I had a heck of a time removing. Could there be a chance that some parts of the program is still lingering to cause this? I've been having this problem for the longest times and threw away a bunch of software.
My son went to sign onto his computer and this is the message that came up Windows/system32/command.com C:/program~1/symantec/s32evnt1.dll. An installable Virtual Device Driver failed DLL installation. Choose close to terminate application

I'm trying to install an old driver (VIA OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller) for my firewire card. When I try to install it through the device manager, there's only an option to update the driver so when I try to install the old one it says it can't find a better match than the one I've got already (generic cardbus controller).I've tried uninstalling the current driver but I can't find a way to manually install the old one. I'm running XP Pro SP3 on an HP 530 laptop.
I did an XP update and installed all the Windows updates. Now I cannot install my Radeon SE-DT graphics drivers. I get an "installation failed, try to install standard VGA drivers" note after the most current downloaded driver installation program runs InstallShield. I'm running on an ASUS A7V motherboard (1011 BIOS) with AMD Athlon processor and 768 MB of Crucial RAM; 2GB Maxtor drive. I'm using LiveOne Care for security.I'd lime to know if the motherboard chipset drivers can be updated from within Windows without doing the floppy disk boot.
I'm running graphics on the VGA save mode and it is goofy scrolling down a screen watching the waves as the data clunks in. Can anyone suggest an easy install? ATI Radeon has been no help so far. By the way, Device Manager shows no video display components from which verify or update drivers.
I have a new video driver for my monitor but cannot install it. I am running XP Home Edition. I go to settings>advanced>monitor but the properties button is grayed out and I cannot select it.
Since upgrading from ME to Win2k I have had to upgrade most of my drivers. I have an oversize printer bjc5100 that I use in my artwork. The new driver for the printer won't install on my system. It doesn't even recognize that it's in the file I've designated.
I have a USB device (Motorola V3 phone) and when connected it the driver did not install properly (something like there was an error installing the device) and the only option was to close the device wizard (no back option) I tried this on all my USB ports. The problem now is that when I plug the phone into a USB nothing happens at all - it doesn't try and load a new driver and since the driver it installed before didn't work it doesn't use that. How can I remove all trace of the phone from the PC so that it will have another go at installing the driver (I used the CD that came with the phone before, but I have since got it to work on another PC by letting it search the web for a driver).
I recently bought a Motorola Razr V3m from Verizon. Everything works great except I cannot get the drivers to install to transfer music from the Vcast Music Manager to my phone. When I plug in my phone, it says "Found New Hardware Razr V3c". I don't know if this is because the V3m uses the same drivers, but none the less, it won't install. It will end up saying " Cannot Install this hardware". If I plug in my phone while it is off, it will detect it as "Motorola USB Modem" and complete the installation, but 30 seconds after turning it back on, it then again detects it as "Razr V3m". I have tried to install on 2 PCs, one running WinXP Pro, other running WinXP Media Center. I am using the CD that came in the "Vcast Music Essentials Kit".
I had Vista, I hated it so I installed a copy of WIndows XP SP3 I had. I have had no audio and belarc wouldn't even recognise the existance of a sound card. After attempting the fixes suggested on other threads here and elsewhere I managed to get microsoft uaa function driver for high definition audio - Adi 1983 to show up in my device manager, but it has a yellow ! exclamation mark.still no sound.
