computer Looking at the contents of a CD-ROM in WE and then removing the CD without first closing WE. Usually it sends a report to MS, and then the task bar with the start button disappears. I have to Ctrl-Alt-Del to be able to log out and restart.
Monitor Driver Error?
Jan 30, 2007First time this happened. I plug in my monitor into my custom built, like I have done before.
it tells me that
"OUT OF RANGE"
hf:30khz-60khz
vf:55hz-75hz
"CURRENT FREQUENCY"
hf:30.2khz vf:48hz.
Can some one help me to fix this?

Aug 5, 2007Everytime I Delete A File, My Monitor Flickers. It Looks Kinda Like When You Set The Resolution. But Nothing Is Changed. I Tried Setting The Correct Driver For The Monitor, But The Problem Consists. I'm Using An Nvidia GeForce4 MX4000 With A Komodo Monitor(Set At 1280x1024).

May 26, 2006I recently re-installed win. xp on the dell insperation 2400. Everything went find except the resoluton wouldn't change from the 480 x ...so I tried to set up my dial up but I needed a higher resolution. I did finally find a way to get that although it was very poor quality and I figured that I'd be able to down load the proper driver once on line, which I did do, although I'm not sure it was the right one, as dell doesn't seem to have anything for that model of pc. Anyway I also downloaded the Microsoft updates to get back to current for the secruity stuff. When that was done it required restart, which I did. When it restarted the monitor remained blank after the win. xp part was done loading. I know its on and that my pc is sitting there running, but I can't see anything. I restarted using F5 and tried; last known good configuration, vga mode, and safe mode. In the 1st 2 no monitor. In safemode the whole screen filled with a dos like line repeated over again to fill the whole screen, then a message came on that said, "stop!!! fatal error and I can't remember what else. Can you help? I guess I should mention that I don't have the right driver disk that came with the pc.

Sep 6, 2009I am looking for a good utility that monitors live individual IP network usage. I run a game server and when people use certain hacks their IP network usage climbs significantly. I use comodo internet security which will tell you IP usage in active network connections but the list isnt sortable and the active connections are lost in a long list of closed connections. I was using netpeeker to view the connected IPs usage but it was incompatible with comdodo and resulted in all large file downloads failing. Is there a utility that can do this without conflicting with comodo? I dont need any bandwidth limiting or anything I am just trying to identify IPs that have usage spikes.

Sep 13, 2007I work at a school district here in FL and we have come across a strange issue. When someone logs into windows, sometimes our kix script will not run and the network drives will not map no matter how many times we log off and log back in. The only solution we can find is disabling the IEEE 802.1x setting on the authentication tab of the local area connection. It doesn't seem to be happening with all of our systems and seems to be sporadic. As soon as we disable this setting and log back in the drives will map. Any idea why this is happening and anyone have a solution? Our PC's are running Windows XP Pro w/SP2 and our servers are Win 2k3.

In Device Manager the network card does not appear under network adapters but instead under other devices as an Ethernet Controller with a yellow question mark and exclaimation point. Unfortunately, Windows does not appear to have a driver and I can't connect to the internet to search for one.I tried installing DriverGuide which says the device is an "82551 10/100 Mbps Ethernet Controller" made by Intel.

Nov 21, 2009I have a Dell D600 Latitude that was working fine, then i opened and email that i thought was from my sister and now my network adapter is not recognized and reflects the yellow!. I bought a Linksys USB ethernert adapter and get the same result. Mar 3, 2008I replace my old LCD monitors (Dell 1905s) with new acer P223w's. I have a dual monitor display.I power off both monitors with one switch that cuts off the power. When I do this however, Windows makes the sound like a device has been disconnected and it messes up my monitor settings. This is very annoying and it didn't happen with my other monitors nor does it happen on my other Windows XP system with different monitors. It's like Windows is trying to be "smart" by thinking the monitor is gone. I do not want Windows to care if the monitor is powered off.

Aug 12, 2005When i open any link with "open in new window" the new window is not full size screen window.Of course i dragged it by mouse many times and that should fix it later.It means it should be opened as it had been dragged,but that's never happened though i dragged it about a hundred time as a full screen size.What is the wrong here?
