I have an Asus Transformer Book t100 and I have a problem with auto rotation. It stopped working and the buttons that switch it on/off (in the settings menu, the resolution menu) disappeared. I tried reinstalling the system and it worked but then the problem came back after about 30 minutes. I dont feel like reinstalling it whenever the problem appears.
View 2 Replieswe ordered a bunch of Asus T100TA transformer book tablets for a customer. One of them wouldn't recognize bluetooth or wi-fi and it had a problem with the Broadcom Serial Bus Driver over UART Bus Enumerator. After numerous driver downloads and installs and even a full factory restore (whatever option in windows 8 where it deletes everything and reinstalls the OS), the issue still persisted. Since the tablet was brand new, we just submitted a DOA request from our wholesaler and sent the tablet back. No big deal, figured it was a hardware issue. The other day, a Lenovo tablet came in with the EXACT same problem. Again driver installs, factory restore etc and the issue is still there. SO obviously it's not a hardware issue Again, both units have had drivers, bios and factory restores and the issue is still there, immediately after factory restore.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI tried to go to the display settings page to enlarge the font and apps size under "("change the size of apps, text and other items..") in PC settings of Windows 8, and was greeted by this message: "Your Resolution is lower than 1280x900 Some items might not fit on your screen" and the "more options" section with "change the size of apps, text items" is disabled. I checked twice, my resolution is the T100 native 1368x768, so why does windows 8.1 think its something else? also tried switching to a lower resolution and back again, rebooting, etc. I also tried downloading and installing all Windows updates and Asus updates.
attached is the screenshot showing Windows 8 both showing the correct resolution and complaining that it is not on the correct resolution.
It's about the ASUS Transformer AIO. It runs in Desktop-Mode with Windows, in Remote Desktop-Mode with Windows and in Tablet-Mode with Android. Is it somehow possible on the tablet (32 GB eMMC flash memory) to delete Android and install Windows?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to use an external Samsung TV/monitor (model LN-T2642H) through HDMI. The native resolution of the monitor/TV is 1360X768, which is also the native resolution of ASUS T100.
If I try to use the monitor/TV as the only display, the device selected is Generic PnP Monitor and the native resolution of 1360X768 is not available for selection. Intel HD Graphics Control Panel only shows 1280X720 (selected) and 1920X1080 (too high for my monitor).
Is there a way to set up the 1360X768 resolution with the existing driver (up to date)? Is there another driver that I can download and that will allow this resolution? Can I use a different version of the Generic PnP Monitor that allows 1360X768 resolution?
With the only resolution available i.e., 1280X720 the quality is bad.
I have a Asus T100 tablet with 32GB SSD. I bought a 64GB SD card to augment the storage on the tablet. The problem I am having is that the SD card disconnects after a few minutes of no activity, I then have to take it out of the tablet and pout it back in. I then have the folder in my C Drive again. How do I prevent the SD card from disconnecting so that I can use it as additional storage?

I've changed the Desktop background image which looks great when the Surface is in Landscape mode, however when I change to portrait mode the image is cropped.
Is there someway I can resize the image automatically when changing mode's?
Just bought a Windows 8 tablet, and not knowing anything about it. Specifically what we were trying to do today was sync his documents from his desktop to the tablet. OneDrive seemed the easiest way to do that, so I installed the OneDrive app on his desktop and logged him in on the tablet. And there were the files. But the problem is, they're on the cloud, and he wants to be able to access them offline.
Through googling, I discovered that there is supposed to be an option in OneDrive to "make all files available offline," supposedly accessible through the Charms bar, under Settings -> Options. But alas, I followed all the directions everywhere, and that option was not there. I took an appropriate screenshot:
Similarly, there is no option to "make available offline" when I access options for individual documents within OneDrive (by swiping up or down).
Why is this option not where it is supposed to be?
So i have my friends Asus Laptop with Windows 8 running on it. Every time it strts up it displays the windows logo and after staring at a black screen for a few minutes it displays the message similar to Windows has encountered an error, (i'll update with the exact message when it pops up again) for a few seconds then immediately restarts to an asus logo with the message "Preparing automatic repair" and a boot animation, followed by a black screen, then it starts all over again. i can enter the bios settings by holding escape at startup but i'm not sure what i can do from there. is there anything besides getting the os on a flash drive that can be done?
View 1 Replies View RelatedJust got my hands on a brand new ASUS K95VB notebook on behalf of a friend. I used a USB with Windows 8.1 on it in order to format the hard drive and install Windows. The hard drive is 3TB. I remember trying to install Windows using the UEFI option in the usb startup menu but that didnt work so I proceeded on the non-uefi option.
Now the problem is that only 2 TB are shown and the remaining 1 TB is shown only in device manager as not assigned...
If I understand correctly, the BIOS should be in UEFI mode and then the hard drive should be converted to GPT and then install Windows.
But, no option in BIOS for UEFI to be enabled whatsoever. What on earth should I do?
I bought a new laptop asus q500l now i want to make recovey dvds and after looking on the internet in asus forums it seems my laptop has a recovery partiton but no option to create recovery dvds my question now is lets say i have a windows 8 dvd oem will i be able to use that to reinstall my os or is there a way for me to make a recovery dvd reason for asking is i want to install ssd in the laptop but i dont wanna doit without some kinda back up for my factory setup note i do use r-drive image for backing up hard drive.

Since for some (stupid reason IMO) reason few of the Windows tablets have the GPS enabled the ME400C included so i am forced to use a Bluetooth GPS. But I have found few maps that are off line. I have tried about every app I can find and the most promising was HERE that has offline maps but it doesn't seem to support the GPS, at least I haven't been able to get it to see my BT GPS. Any good combination of the works with a Bluetooth GPS and has offline maps?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have an ASUS VivoTab that kept draining the battery. I noticed that after shutting down, I would open up the case or transleeve and discover it was on.
After determining that I hadn't accidentally left it on, I watched it after shutting down one evening and indeed about 2 minutes later, it turned itself back on.
I shut it down using the shutdown from the initial screen. That is, I did not use the Charms bar, select Settings and shut down. This appears to work.
Is this a wonky tablet? Related to Windows 8?
My wife has a new Asus X750j Laptop.
I've spent the last day and a half setting it up.Now I want to make a system image of the C: drive using Paragon.
I do this from a bootable DVD, but it isn't set to boot to the DVD first in the boot order.
I've tried tapping the F11, F8, Del, Esc and F2 keys and it just boots into Windows 8.
My computer which has an ASUS motherboard, shows a message when I boot, saying select "Delete" to boot into the UEFI Bios.
But I can't seem to get either a boot menu of the bios option on the laptop.
I have a Asus VivioTab ME400C. I am trying to instal Microsoft Autoroute onto my tablet. I have tried over the network from my desktop using the /a option to install over a network (which Autoroute Demands). But when I try to instal Autoroute from the transferred code it demand disk 2 be inserted but fails to recognise it.
There must be a way of installing programs from a CD/DVD on Windows 8.
I tried copying the CD's to SD drives but no luck. Also tried moving the install code to one directory.
The annoying thing is I did this last week but later the SD card failed.
Any way to do a clean install of Windows 8.1 on a Windows 8 tablet.
Tablet Model is ASUS VivoTab Smart ME400C-C2.
It came originally with Windows 8 32bit. I was wanting to know if there is a possibility of doing this with a Windows 8.1 Disc.
Now I know there is a way to hook up a portable optical drive with a cable called a USB OTG.
I was told by ASUS though i would not be able to boot from the optical drive like a PC or Laptop could and to be able to boot from this OS disc so i can do the install this way.
So is there is a way maybe by making a disc. image and putting it on it's MicroSD or running it directly from the disc, i am not sure how this would work wanting to do a custom install.
Question is there any differences with the Windows 8 OS on the tablet now, compared to the OS on the disc usually used for a PC or Laptop ?
My BT keyboard is no longer discoverable by my ASUS Vivotab ME 400C.
Seemed to suddenly stop working after a couple of incidents where a letter would be repeated 1 hundred times. (i.e. "eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" for "e")
The keyboard was recognized by my Blackberry and is working.
I went to Windows Support section and it said to go to PC Settings/Devices/Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth on, but I was unable to locate a place to turn Bluetooth off or on.
I went into Device ManagerBluetoothBluetooth Radio and found status "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems (Code 43)."
This may have occurred quite shortly after I installed an ASUS BIOS update, but I think it was a couple of days at least. I installed Windows 8.1 when it was initially released and had problems with SDBUS shutting down the tablet. The BIOS update fixed that.
I checked the Driver on the Bluetooth radio and it says it's the best one for the device.
I thought maybe I should uninstall/re-install the driver but I've never done this. That is I don't know if the Bluetooth icon will disappear altogether or something wierd.
I currently own an ASUS laptop. I wanted to know if it's possible to disable the bottom portion of the touchpad (the click/right-click only). The touchpad is pretty hard to function at the moment.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have made a System Image & a Custom Recovery Image on my Asus Vivotab but I cannot get the system to recognize them on a USB Hard Drive.
I got into this by testing the Refresh Custom Recovery Image. The system did not find the image as the system allocated a different drive letter so I have basic Refresh. I have found my way to the Administrator Command but cannot find RECIMG on either the x: or C: drives. Do I need a Path Command from System32?
I also have a System image on a USB Hard Drive but cannot get the system to find it. I have tried putting the files folders in the root directory but the system still does not recognise them.
My tablet is running fine, but I did something (not bright) which could leave me in a lurch later. Here's what I did, and what I'm looking for.
Soon after I purchased my Asus VivoTab Smart, I made a USB recovery disk, complete with recovery partition. Then, to save disk space on the tablet, I deleted the recovery partition on the tablet. So far, so good. Where I blew it was when I got my flash drives mixed up and then erased my USB recovery disk! The tablet runs fine, but if I ever want to refresh it or do a reset, I need the recovery partition, either on the tablet or on a flash drive.
Is it possible to get that partition back?

I've tried using the touchscreen to undo the zoom but that doesn't work. When I open up the internet in the desktop mode the screen is normal size. How to undo the zoomed.

I can scroll using the touch screen, but not the touch pad now. It's brand new, and I haven't touched any of the settings, so I don't know why it would just quit.

Also I have similar problem with system restore.I disabled it, but system turned it on again.
The Troubleshoot icon that should be under the 'Advanced Startup' Option is missing. System is a new Dell Latitude 10 ST2 Tablet running Windows 8. Have access to 9 other identical tablets, all configured the same and they all have the Troubleshoot Option. Have tried multiple methods of getting to "Advanced Startup" display (including Safe mode, 'shutdown /r /o', etc.), but all result in only having the 'Continue', 'Use a Device', and 'Turn Off your PC' options - No Troubleshoot. Other than missing this icon, system is working fine. Shy of wiping the disk and starting over.
