Recently windows store on my windows 8.0 stopped working, when i try to browse it or any other metro app they doesn't work and the message on screen is:PC isn't connected to the internet..
I used the apps.diagcab solution but no way to go, it runs if i run Fiddler2. How to set a default status without loosing anything?
I am having a strange problem with OneDrive. I am running windows 8.1 Update 1 Pro 64bit + all updates.
On my desktop the OneDrive app works properly. It synchs as expected between my desktop and my OneDrive website. In system tray, the OneDrive icon shows it syncs regularly.
However, when I check my system in the Reliability Monitor, the reliability history shows a critical message "Microsoft OneDrive stopped working". If OneDrive works properly, then what is the reason for this warning message? Below is the detail I get when I click on the message. This message started to appear about 13 days ago.

When I go on the app store I receive a massage saying my internet is not connected when in fact I am connected to the net and can go on line with a browser. Similarly all the apps show "offline" status. Funny thing is that when on the startpage I can see that the financial ticker is uptodate, but when I go on the app it says "offline" and shows news from 10 days ago.
View 5 Replies View RelatedVery annoying BSOD problem, it tends to happen when surfing the internet and for some reason my internet keeps now coming up with that irritating internet has stopped working error every couple of minutes, I have tried to refresh or reset windows 8 but I cannot because I do not have a recovery partition or USB, I upgraded my version of windows digitally so I am looking to see if there are any other solutions first. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a windows 8 laptop, and I was on internet explorer this morning when I was prompted to shut it (this is because of what I was doing, however I know what I was doing was safe as it was checked by Norton and done by may other people, not just me). However, one it shut error messages kept popping up saying internet explorer has stopped working, and the were coming up 30 at a time. As of now, I can click on internet explorer just fine from the app-like view, however what I want to do needs the desktop version, which crashes within seconds of me opening it. The error messages will then start popping up, and the internet is just unusable in desktop mode.

I even troubleshooted it's performance.... but no luck
Before upgrading i ran the upgrade assistant, and it said inte(r) network connections isn't compatible with the OS... so i completely removed it...then installed Windows 8
About two weeks ago I began to notice strange behavior on my PC which made me think it may be a virus. Some examples:
1. When I'm online a message window frequently appears stating "internet explorer has stopped working"
2. Some websites do not display adverts on the page. I've attached a screenshot from youtube to illustrate what I'm referring to.
3. Some webpages will not load. I keep seeing "webpage under maintenance at this time". This is typical for websites at certain times but to see it every time I try to access is suspicious.
4. I use Hotmail and typically the first time I start it up in the day I notice that the first email I open causes the entire page to go blank as if it erases everything on it, it then reopens with all of my emails listed and finally the email I began to read will reopen. This only happens after I boot my system and open the first email. This will not happen on any other computer.
5. I seem to be having issues installing certain programs. They won't install citing various reasons such as outdated files, incompatible etc. These were all working flawlessly prior to reformatting my system.
6. I'm unable to post messages even though I'm logged in. When I type a message I see the timer cycling but it never posts my messages, it's as if it's stuck in a loop or frozen.
Having felt that a system reformat was in order I did just that not more than a week ago. Everything was reinstalled and updated. Once all the Windows 8 files were installed I began to notice the exact same problems surfacing immediately. I'm currently using Win 8 with IE 10. 16 GB RAM, 64 bit OS. The computer itself is an HP and a year old.
I have a similar problem with EI 11 on my PC with Windows 8.1, which is fully updated. It happens whenever I try to "Save as" a download or to print a web page.
So far I have reset it, opened it as administrator and turned off smart screen filter - to no effect.
Should I try to disable EI from the Uninstall Programs - Turn Windows on or off?
I have been always a Microsoft person. But I have tried any and all fixes to try and get internet explorer to stop coming up with internet explorer has stopped working will search for a problem.
I as of today have disabled it and are using another browser that does not have this bug in it. I am having no trouble with the browser I am using, and it does not stop working like ie 11. I do not think you should have to go threw all hoops and loops to get this to work correctly. Microsoft should come up with something that works correctly all the time and you do not have to check add ins, disable other items or what not.
My desktop icons/links to Facebook, Ebay, Google, Emails, etc, all worked yesterday, now none will work. I get a pop-up error message displaying the link and stating "unspecified error".

3. Ran several malware and anti-virus programs and still no way to get my Apps working again.
4. I click on an App and the display just returns to the start display.
5. So, I had to reinstall Windows 8 from scratch since none of the "RESTORE" listing would restore.
6. I had not made a "recovery drive" so that was not an option.
I have a fairly new Dell with windows 8.1 on it. Internet explorer stopped working all of a sudden the other day. No warning at all. When I open the desktop version, nothing happens at all. No tab, no pageload, nothing.I can click the gear and only file, safety, and compatibility view settings are available. I have reset internet explorer settings to no avail through internet options. ?I have scanned with a few different tools and nothing has fixed it. Also, the window outline colors have turned to a reddish pink.

It tells me that i am not connected to the internet when i am clearly connected to it. My internet is through router and it works fine; i can access my browser just surfing the web. View 2 Replies View RelatedI installed Classic Shell on my Windows 8.1 laptop and i kinda didn't like it too much so i uninstalled it. But it hasn't uninstalled completely, when i try running setup again, and choosing the 'remove' option it doesn't uninstall! Anyways, that isn't really the problem, the thing is, when i press 'ctrl alt del', it doesn't go to task manager, i tried right clicking on the start icon and clicking on task manager but that didn't work either, so i had to go to start menu and search for task manager and then finally it came up.
I'm wondering if there is any correlation between classic shell and 'ctrl al del' not working, any way of getting it to work again.
I have been happily using Windows 8, until today. Out of nowhere I cannot install/update anything (I always get "windows installer has stopped working error", I cannot run any metro apps (they simply crash), and windows itself seems unstable. Is there any other solution, other than formatting harddrive and re-installing everything?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have used the MPUI video viewer for several years on Windows 7 and Windows 8.0 without any problem.Last week I installed Windows 8.1 on my Lenovo laptop, and since that time, MPUI does not work. So I figured that maybe MPUI is no longer compatible with Windows 8.1, so I'll download a different media player from the Store.
I downloaded and tried PressPlayer, Media_Player and Quick Media Player, none of which will play the videos that I downloaded from YouTube.
The media players just say that this video cannot be played. MPUI displays the initial picture from the video, but doesn't proceed like it did previously.why my videos stopped working after I installed Windows 8.1.?
Since the last Windows updates a couple of days, I frequently get "OneDrive has stopped working" messages.

I rarely use Win 8 apps, and run in desktop mode almost exclusively. Was having issues and was suggested I advance the OS to 8.1. That requires Store app. Store app gives a very generic "unable to connect" message with no options. I've done some research here and tried various things to no avail:
-refresh the store app
-a few cmd things
-restart
-turned off McAfee AND windows firewall
Some suggest doing some type of system restore which claims to wipe out all desktop system apps.That seems quite extreme for a program/connectivity issue.

When I want to install an app from the Windows Store, I get a message with error code: 0x80070032. I have tried everything I could find on the internet to solve this, but nothing works.
I have a brandnew HP Pavilion laptop, on which Windows 8 was pre-installed.
About three days ago, all new style apps stopped working. I click on the tile, get a deep blue screen, and nothing else. On the left side of the screen, I can see the app as if it is working (just the name of the app, not content), so I can close the window and get back to desktop. The same applies to the STORE app. The only tiles that work, are the links to desktop applications, which open correctly on the desktop. The fault also affects all windows system apps. For example if I search on the start screen for "windows update", I can access "Windows update" as it just opens a window on the desktop, but if I click on "Windows update settings" nothing happens. The same is true with all windows system apps that open in the new start screen system.
I've uninstalled two Microsoft updates that were installed over the past three days, no change. I uninstalled AVAST, no change, so I reinstalled it! I tried restoring the system, but found that I had only one restore, and that was corrupted. Very strange. Without access to many windows system apps, the computer is really limited. The desktop seems to be working OK. I can't refresh the PC, as firstly it is a system app that runs from the start screen, and secondly because I upgraded from win 8 to 8.1 online, this can't be done anyway, as I don't have a disc. I'm really trying to avoid reinstalling windows 8!
(Pavilion dv6, i7 processor, 6GB ram, originally win7, then I upgraded to win 8 and now 8.1. I've been running 8.1 for some months without problems, just occasionally on start-up from sleep, I get "error in non-cached memory" BSOD, and the system restarts.)
I have Windows 8.1 installed on VM Player and never had a problem. Now, for some odd reason the App Store keeps telling me there's a connection problem and won't open.... it's acting as though there is no internet connection, which of course there is as I can access the internet and other live tiles, just not the app store. And I know the apps store is up and running because on my Windows 8 (not 8.1) laptop, the store opens just fine.
Is there a current issue going on with the apps store and 8.1?

I try to reinstall office 2013. I followed everything.
I have tried the auto fix remove office registry. I also deleted everything related in program date, program Files, program(x86). I deleted everything related to office in registry. I also tried clean boot, turn off all start app, run only system service, turn off printer spooler.
I have done all those but still get the same error message, ' Setup bootstrapper has stopped working'.
So recently the Windows Store has stopped working for me (Win 8.1 Pro). By not working, I mean that whenever I try to install an app, I get the following error message:
Your purchase couldn't be completed. Something happened and your purchase can't be completed.
Error code: 0x80240017.
Furthermore, apps are not updating automatically, and a manual check reveals no updates available. That being said, I know for a fact that my Facebook and OneNote apps are out of date, since they have both changed on my other computer. As a test, I uninstalled the OneNote app, and now I can't re-install it.
So far I've tried:
-The apps troubleshooter.
-The windows update troubleshooter.
-WSReset.exe
-SFC.exe (no violations found)
I've been using Flash Player in the Metro version of Chrome for quite a while now, and it's been fairly useful since the the Metro version of IE is oddly crippled. I like the Metro interface, but not the way web browsers have been crippled to use NO plugins.
Just today, Chrome started giving me a pop-up message saying that I can't use Flash Player unless I run in legacy/desktop mode.
Is this just my version of Chrome messing up in some way, or was this change actually made? I really don't understand why on earth they would cripple the Windows 8/Metro mode all of a sudden. What's going on?
I have a Asus Laptop operating with Windows 8.1. It connects to wifi but none of the desktop icons can get to the Internet. Meanwhile most window tiles in the start menu have Internet access . For example I have the application "MegaTube" and that application has access to the Internet. As well as the weather app, which updates when connected to the Internet.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI connected an Ethernet cable at my workplace to a Windows 8 laptop. At the bottom right in desktop, the network symbol has a yellow exclamation sign and says "No internet access"/"Limited". This is a secured intranet, so I logged in with my company credentials when the browser started.
The IE browser connects to the internet normally. When I open metro apps such as Weather, it says the Internet is offline.
I open the Store, open the charm bar and navigate to settings. I click on the "Your account" option and the sign-in button apears on screen. When I click it, nothing happens. Absolutely nothing. I have to close the screen to exit the page.
Furthermore, when I search for an app and click the "install" button for that perticular app, the Store crashes; closing down immediately.
I already ran sfc /scannow but no problems found. I also ran the wsreset.exe but also to no avail.
I tried switching to my MS account, same issue. So am now back on a local account.
It has to do something with the account or a policy that is active on my account I assume ?
I just installed win 8 (already activated via wmc) i am having problems with my wifi (Realtek8187B) everytime i restart my laptop it is connected but no internet, but when i disable and then re-enable the wifi adapter it works i have internet connection.
