When i log on to my computer it goes up to the log-in screen and then when i opened my account it shows a black screen ! i cant do anything - i can enter safe mode- in safe mode, the audio service is not running- when i use system restore and repair my computer, it could not detect any problem
View 1 Replieswhen I turn on my computer, or bring it back from sleep mode, there are two of the same account. Basically it shows the user boxes with the same name twice, (both with the same password, picture, etc.) It's not really a problem, just kind of annoying to me for some reason.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I turn on the screen of my PC I get weird shapes all over the screen. Some of them are coloured, some are grey but they appear on all programmes, including a Word blank page and the desktop page. Some of them flash, some of them change shape, ut they are all pixel shaped within the boxes. There are also some strange 'squiggly' marks on the screen. When I opened Windows mail, the left hand side of the screen was completely black and it didn't show any of my messages. As I'm typing this message, I've got grey boxes which change shape as I type and it's covering some of the text.
View 13 Replies View RelatedI was messing around with the settings trying to get a more clear pricutre, and now the desktop doesn't show any icons, no menu bar, and the background is partially cut out all around (like it's stretched to the original picture size). When I use ctrl alt delete the tv just goes black.The main problem is I can't use the main screen to adjust anything because my friend cracked it bad enough to where I can't make anything out.I have no problems using my friend's 40" tv, so I tried adjusting the resolution to a smaller size, but when I plug it back into the smaller tv it still doesn't work.I think this started happening when I changed some stuff in Asus Utilities Extended Desktop, but disabling that doesn't work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI know there is a thread running round with issues regarding Win 7 desktop not showing icons and the solutions to it.even CTRL ALT DEL don't work. Just shows me a black screen which fades back to a icon-less desktop. Solutions regarding finding explorer.exe and running it to show desktop icons don't work either.Just pops out the explorer window showing the desktop.And don't even start on right clicking desktop and select show icons.... cause that's the first thing I tried. System restore in safe mode yielded no results. Virus and malware scans turn up a clean bill. I'm only short of reformatting the pc, and I'm not even sure if I'm able to run the reformat from windows.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy laptop screen stays off when I close the lid. I set the laptop to 'do nothing'(turn off the screen), when I close the lid. When I open it, the screen stays off.The only way to fix it from here is to either turn it off or to put it in sleep mode (with my designated button). Everything still works, its just that the screen doesn't turn on.

View 9 Replies View Relatedstarted recently, when I boot my PC, the screen shows message: no signal and screen stays dark.However, in the background W-7 is loading, but in order to get the video functioning, I must restart the PC, turn off the screen, wait till W-7 loads somewhat and (like after 10 sec.) turn the screen on and everything is OK.Monitor is NEW Video card too, I tried with a second one, same problem...My question is, is this W-7, main board, or something else related?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI installed windows 7 on my laptop. in the process of setting up my account I deleted my adminstrator access. on the welcome screen it will show my admin name and when i use my password this is what is says:the user profile service service failed the logon. user profile cannot load.I have tried to reinstall windows but I need access to my account. Like noted above safe mode is black and says safe mode on the corners if this is fixable I plan to wipe my system to factory settings because everytime i installed windows before this issue it kept copying my harddrive and now I have less then a 1gb on my computer.
View 9 Replies View RelatedRunning Windows 7 Ultimate N x86 on a Dell Inspiron 6400I used MSConfig to set the computer to boot into Safe Mode - Minimal Services. I did nothing else. That's the only thing I did.Now when it gets to the login screen, nothing shows up. Just the cursor, the Ease of Access button, and the Shutdown button. No choosing users, no entering passwords, nothing. Which means I cannot log into any accounts. All I can do is shut it down or restart the computer.I'd also turned off system restore a while back because of an infection there, but forgot to turn it back on and so I have no way to roll the computer back.I tried hitting F8 and telling it to boot normally, but it continued through Safe Mode, so no luck there.

After a while it started freezing all the time so I decided to clean it up. It had tons of dust that I removed and I even applied thermal paste MX3 to the processor. Everything went well for a few months but now the freezing has restarted. Basically, I turn it on and it freezes while doing small stuff like opening firefox or steam whithin a minutes.
Normally the screen goes black but the lights in the tower stay on and the fans keep working. I have to manually reboot and then it just works normally with no more freezings. When I turned my computer on and off manually, I get a black screen that asks me if I want to go into safe mode. It says to use the arrows keys and press enter to choose which mode to go into, but the keyboard is unresponsive at this screen.
What do I do? How do I get into safe mode? Do I need to bring my computer in to the computer repair shop?

I was trying to setup a laptop to HDTV through mini hdmi/hdmi cable, i was having problems setting the screen up on the HDTV, in several occasion my computer would freeze (no mouse pointer), so i restarted a couple times, now, everytime i restart my computer, i get stuck with a screen that only contains my desktop background. (no mouse pointer, no task bar, no files/programs that are supposed to be on the desktop) I am having a presentation tomorrow, please please please help me out to save me!! btw, i tried to start in safe mode, everything seems fine, but when i start it normally, the problem occurs again .

Just experiencing some problems with my laptop(acer 7535g)/windows 7. Im not sure where the issue lies but im quite certain its windows 7. Every time I go to do something with my laptop that needs admin permission (e.g. changing screen resolution or installing a program) it doesn't actually ask for permission, it just goes to this plain screen with no task bar, no desktop icons, just the background screen.
I still have the right click function but i cannot use the alt-ctrl-del function as it just goes completely black. The only way out is going to sleep mode and logging in again. Quite annoying and was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and can help.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy wife did something on her PC (she doesn't know exactly for sure what & can't explain it completely me), and now she can't boot up her PC. She says it had something to do with changing the security settings for a program she uses a lot so it wouldn't keep asking her if she wanted to launch it, and that's when it told her to restart the PC, then it wouldn't boot up anymore.When you reboot, the screen eventually goes to a black screen saying "Windows failed to start. A software or hardware error may be the cause" or something to that effect. It offers me the option to "Launch Startup Repair" or "Start Windows Normally".If I Launch Startup Repair, nothing much happens --- it says it's adding files, then it looks like Windows is about to boot up, then it goes to a black screen for a long time & nothing happens.
If I choose Start Windows Normally, it simply reboots & eventually brings me back to the same screen again.I've tried using rebooting and selecting ESC to get to the boot menu, then installing the Win 7 installation disc & selecting the DVD drive, then I select thelanguage, then I click Repair, but it sits there forever with nothing happening.I also tried an outside boot disc I found on the web & it doesn't launch.
i have a Dell Vostro 1520 and im running Windows 7 with a 32bit. It is only 2 years only. It started about a month ago. I was on my laptop viewing and deleting some unwanted photos i had. A few minutes later i realized that i deleted a photo that i wanted. So i went to the recycling bin and restored that photo. When i went back to my photos and went into the album, it said something like i do no have permission to access this folder. Please press continue to get full permission. I clicked continue and i got the access i should have. Now i tried many more random folders and the same thing happened. Also when i came out of the folders, the folders had a big pad lock sign on the front of it. After that i shut down the laptop and went to turn it back on. The laptop will power on like normal. I can press f12 for the boot options. which i have already tried many times. I also tried it in safe mode and what-not, but still nothing. I can hear the fan and stuff spinning up like normal. I have also put and CD into the CD ROM and that spins up fine. So after the Dell logo on the screen, it goes black and stays that way with the cursor. You can move the cursor around no problem. I should also add that the battery light is and has been flashing for a good wile. Its flashing orange and blue. I'm wondering if this has anything to do with the battery. Because my laptop will not charge with the AC adapter in it for many months now. It will only stay powered on with the AC adapter plugged in. One more thing. The LED lights over the buttons. None of the are flashing, besides one, on the far left. And i cant find out anywhere what this LED light stands for.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy son has a Toshiba Satelite P205 that he just upgraded from Windows XP Home Premium to Windows 7 32-bit. After the upgrade completed the computer booted fine. The within 20 minutes he got the BSOD and the system rebooted. Now he can't get Windows to fully start. We've tried all of the options from F8 with no success. We have the Toshiba System Recovery Disk but it won't launch. (The Boot sequence has been changed to boot from CD/DVD and then the Hard Drive.)The Memory Diagnostic from the Windows 7 disk ran fine with no errors. I'm thinking I might need to re-format/wipe the drive to start fresh but don't know where to obtain a boot CD(no floppy drive on this laptop). Does anyone recommend a software that I can purchase to clear everything without destroying the CD/DVD accessibility so I can then use the System Recovery Disk to put it back to the original factory Settings?
