I was trying to research but couldn't find anything on. While I'm typing, there's a very short beep that's coming from the computer with every keypress. Not only that but I no longer am able to hit to press to keys in a row.
View 1 RepliesFirst of all i have an ASUS P6X58D Premium motherboard and three days ago updated to 24GB of Ram.Suddenly while i was relaxing on my pc a few hours ago, a beeping sound that lasted for about 1-2 seconds started coming from the speakers. I instantly got worried as this is the first time it happened. I looked up google for "beeb sound", and i found out that this is some form of coding representing errors....but these sounds should not come from the motherboard instead of the speakers????

Well essentially my system will reboot anytime it sits for an extended period of time (about 15 to 20 Minutes). My computer will go into standby mode. I do have it set for my computer to never sleep but only my screens. I have followed the BSOD instructions and do and those to attach to this post. Here is the additional information regarding this problem... Is Windows 7 . . . - x86 (32-bit) or x64 ? - x64 - the original installed OS on the system? Yes - an OEM or full retail version?Full retail version - What is the age of system (hardware)? Eh, varies video cards about a year old, memory and hardrives are about the same length of time. Chip is fairly new within a few months. - What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?) OS was freshly reinstalled on 11/17/2011. All drivers for all pieces of hardware in my machine have had the newest drivers updated, including my video cards. I have also done the BIOS update for both of my video cards available from Palit. Oddly enough i can play Starcraft II for hours and no issue with rebooting... only when it sits for an extended period of time as mentioned earlier.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI first discovered how to get my old ATI Remote Wonder (RF remote control) to work with 64bit Windows 7 back when I was still Beta testing Win7 in 2009. Works great, and I'm thrilled I didn't have to throw away something so useful.
It does have one minor problem though that I only just figured out yesterday:
Most keypresses (on the remote) produce TWO keystrokes. I've always had trouble getting movies to pause/play, or channel changes going too far. I confirmed this by opening Notepad and "typing" numbers from the remote's keypad, only to discover hitting "1" types "11", "2" gives me "22", etc and so on. Pause/Play actions are usually a simple toggle, so it it can take repeated tries to get "pause/play" to work. Frustrating.
I then discovered (after a little online research) that closing the RW tray app/icon "fixes" this problem, but then you can't use any of your plugins or customizations. Very annoying.
So apparently, Win7 seems to think there are TWO instances of Remote Wonder running when the program is loaded. How do I "fix" this so RW "ignores" the "background" process and uses just the Tray App (which supports Plugins)?

View 14 Replies View RelatedI recently put a 256GB WD SSD in my machine to compliment a smaller, but faster Patriot 6Gb SSD for HD intensive applications.
Unfortunately, since I installed this drive, whenever Windows Backup runs (once a week) computer will freeze for a few seconds (5-7 at most) every 1 or 2 minutes and then keep working normally Nothing else causes these freezes. I can copy large and small files to/from the SSD without any problems. Windows and apps loads very quickly and WD software confirms the drive is OK.
Is there a specific tweak that I need to do for the WD SSD? I thought they used the most conservative controller for this drive that should make this SSD appear as a regular HD to the OS.
I really hate interrupting the backup, but the computer becomes completely unusable while it runs so I'd really like to solve this ASAP.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Compaq 615 running Windows 7. Recently, I have heard a beeping sound that isnt too disimiliar to the BIOS beeps on start up. However, this can be heard when the OS is running.
There is no set pattern to the beeps. It can occasionally be 2-3 beeps very close together but is mostly just one beep. It is starting to worry me a little.
