Are there any tricks to running games well on a three monitor setup?
I only have 2 x16 slots running dual evga 275 gtx oc on a tyan s2915 motherboard with 16 gb ram, dual quad core 2356s,raid x-25m ssds and three 24 in monitors under windows 7U 64. This is loads better than vista 64 (I can't even talk about it) but it still chokes when the action gets heavy. Obviously this computer is used for manuscript creation-writing model analysis by day but I like to have a little fun at night. Hence I would like to tweak what I can without going to two monitors (can't stand the line in the middle) or going to a new MB.

I have 3 monitors set up technically although one is my 54'' TV to play movies on while I work and play. Ultimately what I would like to do is while I'm playing movies and not using the other monitors (such as laying down to take a nap or playing movies with friends) I want to have a screensaver display on the unused monitors. I'm not sure if this is actually possible with a movie up on the TV but if anyone has any idea of a program i could use
I'm also running windows 7 ultimate if that matters any to you...

It may be because there are 3 DVI ports on the one card but Win 7 does not recognise all 3 monitors, only 2.
On the contrary the Nvidia control panel recognises all 3 monitors and I am able to configure all 3 screens with a res of 5760 / 1080. All is fine until I reboot and then nothing. All monitors blank. I can only assume that it's because of a conflict with the Nvidia driver (latest) and windows.
My question is, is it possible to force windows to recognise all 3 monitors?

I run the sound booth with my church and we need 3 monitors to run at the same with each other, we have the sound booth monitor and the front projector to run correctly but we need the stage display to run to. The problem is that windows 7 is detecting the monitor as well as MediaShout 4.5 except we can not get anything to display on it, let alone having the 3rd projector even detect that it is connected to the computer. We have a gateway FX6840 with 8 gigs of ram, 1.5 TB HD Space, the problem projector is a BenQ PB8260

I have two computers. The monitor (Acer) on #1 quit working. I switched monitors. #2 monitor (samsung) didn't work on #1 either. I thought it might be my computer. My brother got his monitor working with it. We thought it might have been my cables. I bought new ones. I tried it (with new cables) with monitor from #2. Didn't work. I put the orignial monitor back on, and it works. Now the monitor from #2 doesn't work on #2. I think it might be a driver issue, but not sure.

I just bought a new 23inch Samsung Monitor (S23B370). It have full HD support and also have an HDMI port. I bought a HDMI cable which have HDMI on both ends. I have a VGA (Nvidia 210) which also have an HDMI port. I connected the monitor's HDMI out to the VGA's HDMI port with the new cable and booted. Nothing came. I even set the Monitor's settings to HDMI. But nothing happened. It says check display cable. Why is this? How to fix it? Have I done something wrong?

So I got a new monitor for xmas, the LG Flatron W1953T and I wanted to get it running with my Dell monitor. I have an onboard NVIDIA GeForce 8300 and at first just tried to plug the new monitor into the DVI port but I think it's broken or something.
Anyways, I bought this Triton Technologies External VGA video card that I just plug into a USB port, and now I have both monitors running through VGA, and my second monitor is up, but the resolution just looks terrible on the second one, and when I go to adjust resolution or whatever it says I have only one monitor and if I hit detect it doesn't come up.
In my devices menu it says I have the dell menu, and then two other "Generic non PnP monitors" even though I only have one other monitor connected.
I also go to my NVIDIA control panel and it doesnt say the second monitor is detected.
Both monitors are working, like I see my desktop background on the other monitor and I can drag stuff over to it but its just not detected or something idk. I want to download Ultramon too, (Or should I get something else w/ windows 7? I heard you cant have two taskbars w seven.

I bought a Samsung HDMI monitor yesterday (model: S22B370H) for my Z68P-DS3 motherboard which has only an HDMI output. The monitor was working fine when connected to my laptop, although with some flickering. When I connect to the PC, rarely it shows a display till the Windows Startup booting screen, after which it is totally blank. The monitor is recognizing and HDMi input but is not displaying it.

A friend just bought a new HP laptop running Windows 7 Home. They want to connect their old Gateway monitor to the laptop to use as a dual-screen setup. They shut down the system connected the monitor then turned on the monitor and booted the system. When the desktop displays on the laptop it also comes up on the external monitor for just a second and then the monitor goes black. They have also tried connecting the monitor while the laptop was already up and running with the same results. The monitor had been working fine with their old Windows XP desktop system.

I have build 7068. From the start my screensaver and power options are not working. The problem is sometimes they DO work. I am having trouble diagnosing it because of that fact. What would cause this? I just want the monitor to turn off 30 minutes after stop using the computer. That's the main issue. I go to "power options" and set it at 30 minutes and never put to sleep. What am I missing here?

So, I am trying to get triple monitors set up on my computer, and for some reason windows 7 isn't seeing the third monitor. [code] This Motherboard has a monitor output, as well as a video card port. The video card has two monitor outputs, one HDMI and one VGA. The Video card is an NVIDIA GeForce FX 5500.I have tested all three monitors and they all work. It seems that the only port that isn't being recognized is the one in the motherboard. (Dual monitors work fine through the video card)how to get windows to recognize that I have a third monitor plugged into the motherboard?

I recently added a fairly old PCI card to my 8800 PCIe Card running on windows 7 on a gigabyte GA 965P S3 and cannot get three screens working together...
With the BIOS set to use PCI first,
Windows boots on the PCI Card, The other two screens do not come on, Both cards are visible in device manager, only one card is shown in the Screen Resolution options.
With the BIOS set to use PEG first,
Windows boots on the 8800, two screens on, pci card off, pci card NOT visible in device manager, pci card not shown in the screen resolution options...
There doesnt appear to be any other bios settings to do with the screens.... im at a bit of a loss as to what to try next...
I would consider buying a PCIe x1 card to work along side the PCIe x16 card, will this not work for any other reason??
Any ideas anyone?

I'm planning on taking advantage of the price cuts announced today and would like to run W7 home Premium. I am currently triple booting with partitions for XP, W7-RC, and Linux. Would installing an upgrade version of W7 overwrite or otherwise disable the XP system, or would I need to purchase a 'full' version? I want to be able to keep that as is for the other member of the household.

I have a IBM Thinkpad T30 with a graphics card ATI Mobility Radeon 7500. I have an external monitor plugged up. On xp I can dual split easily! I just installed windows 7, and it doesn't detect the external monitor. I right click desktop, and select screen resolution. I click detect and the only screen detected is my laptop screen (not the vga external screen). I checked the IBM website, and the video drivers are only for windows xp. I tried to install the driver for xp on windows 7, and an error pops up and says "Setup was unable to complete the installation. Try to setup your display adapter with a standard VGA driver before running setup"

I never setup a triple-boot system before. I kind of have an idea of how I'm going to attempt this little project but wanted to see what you guys thought. I have a 320GB asus laptop and plan on using Gparted live cd to do all my partitioning. I plan to create 2 NTFS partitions and then create an EXT3 partition plus a swap partition..

I installed Win 7 on a triple boot with Vista and Linux and meant to keep Linux and Win 7, expecting Vista to be overwritten. Unforeseen Vista remained installed.
Using a special boot cdrom, I get entries for all 3 OS, but Vista boots into my Lenovo laptop's rescue software and proposes to "rescue" the Vista and I can't get passed that. I expect it means deleting the other OS?
I imagine I could uninstall Vista in some way placed in the folder Windows_Old or maybe being able to boot it, as I would be able to get some registration keys off software as well as using some software that doesn't work on Windows 7. How can I now uninstall Vista safely?
I expect a partition manager like in Linux could recover the partitions for new data.
Does anyone have some comments on this?

I have four SATA II drives, four gig memory, etc, in my machine that have Windows XP and Vista dual-booting. Both OS's are installed on the same physical drives; about 150 gig each partition.
I've freed up one of the drives, changed the BIOS to boot from the DVD, and installed Windows 7, 64-bit. The installation completed without a hitch and the setup detected everything, sans the Viewsonic monitor. Windows did have a driver for the monitor, but I used the one for Vista 64-bit from Viewsonic and we are good.
After rebooting Windows 7, I expected to have couple of boot option but there's none. No XP and/or Vista, just Windows 7. I've tried to locate the bootmanager in Windows 7, but I couldn't find it and that worried me. There was no backup made since it should've picked up the other OS's.
I didn't touch any of the bootsectors, nor did Windows 7; the latter one did make the drive a primary disk and installed the boot record there. After modifying the BIOS, making the the XP/Vista drive the first drive to be booted, XP and Vista came back, but Windows 7 disappeared. I can boot either OS's by changing the order the drives are booted by the BIOS, but I rather have the choice for XP/Vista/7 in the boot menu.
I am not sure why Windows 7 didn't pick up on the other OS's; the reason could be the SATA drives, if I'd have to guess. Since "disk 1" was set as the first drive to boot by the BIOS, Windows 7 did not check other drives and declared itself the only OS.
The question is, how do I add Windows 7 to the Vista's boot menu, or alternatively, how do I add XP/Vista to 7's boot menu?

When I say at "double or triple speed" I do not mean make it run smoother, as in it's lagging.I have a program that does tasks, it waits about 20-30 seconds between tasks (I can't change that, I want to shorten the time it takes, so I want to change the speed of the whole program.I haven't found anything like that, all I get is how to stop lag on your computer, since it's referred to as
'running your computer faster'.

Let me get right to the point (details to follow). I want to be able to triple boot Windows 7, Mac OS X and Ubuntu and I don't know how or if it is even possible. For the past few weeks I have been looking for a guide on how to triple boot using Windows 7, OS X and Ubuntu. However, I have not been able to find a guide that pertains to my situation; my situation is that I have Windows 7 already installed which I am currently using and now I want to install and use OS X and Ubuntu in a triple boot configuration. The guides that I have seen so far have OS X as the starting operating system and go on to show how to install Windows 7 then Ubuntu, or the guides force me to repartition the drive with my Windows 7 installation and start all over, or the guides only show me how to install all three operating systems on a single drive with three partitions. Ideally here is what I would like...1. Keep my original Windows 7 installation intact. I have quite a few programs installed and would very much enjoy not having to set up everything again.2. Have each operating system (Windows 7, Mac OS X, and Ubuntu) on their own hard drive. Or at the very least have OS X and Ubuntu on a single drive, each with their own partition3. Be able to triple boot and select the operating system I wish to use.

Yesterday, I got a balloon notification saying that there were some Windows Updates available. I like to keep my PC up-to-date, and since I wasn't in the middle of anything urgent I had my Windows 7 32-bit PC download and install them. WU asked to reboot my computer, so I got to a stopping point and clicked reboot. When I rebooted my PC, my 2nd monitor stopped working and wouldn't detect. So I downloaded installed the latest drivers and restarted, nothing. Tried rolling back to a restore point before the updates, nothing. Uninstalled the video card and rebooted, nothing.
I have an ATI Raedon 3600 Series video card, installed into a Dell Optiplex 360, running 2 Dell 19" LCD monitors. Nothing super fancy or extravagant going on hereI am a bit at a loss. I was going to maybe take out the video card and try reinstalling it physically and "softwarically". But I do not think that will aIt was working fine for months, and so I am guessing it has something to do with the Windows Updates that were installed.

I'm on a Sony Vaio laptop with a second monitor connected with a VGA cable. I just switched from Vista to Windows 7 and my second 22" monitor is not being recognized under the resolution screen. It worked perfectly fine on vista just hours prior. I tried hitting the detect button, reconnecting the monitor, and restarting. What am i doing wrong?
It might be my graphics card, im pretty sure i have a nvidia geforce 7200m gt. cant seem to find drivers for it anywhere. My computer keeps telling me all my drivers are up to date, yet my second monitor is still not recognized. this doesn't make sense. Should i just go back to vista?
