Software Can Install That Enables To Over Clock And See All Performance Settings
Aug 5, 2012
Is there any software you can install (on Win 7 Pro) that enables you to over clock and see all the performance settings and get performance results after tinkering with overclock settings.I've never looked in to this before so I thought I'd see if anybody knows of some specific software names (websites would be helpful) that can do this.

I'm having problems changing the Advanced system settings to all the users on my PC. How can i enforce a certain System setting to all User Accounts without having to log them on one by one? And another one is how can transfer Personal User Directories to another Drive without removing the access permissions in them. (Example: C:\Users\Computer to D:\Users\Computer) Cause when i changed the user directory to D:/. That certain user directory can now be accessed by all Standard user accounts in my PC.

In windows XP perfmon asked every time I wanted to close it if it should save the settings / session. In Windows 7 it says nothing and I see no way to save all the counters I've set up. There is an option to Save Settings but I see no option to load them back. Basically I want Performance Monitor to startup as I left him the last time. Any hints?

I would like to reformat my computer to speed it up again. Does reformatting slow down a computer after already being done? I want to keep some of my files, but I will not be using the windows reformat, I plan to use the "restore to factory settings" option. How would I do this? I have a "recovery" drive and I was wondering if I could store the files I want to keep onto that and when I reformat I could just transfer them over. How should I go about reformatting? I know there is a windows option for "restoring to factory settings." And I know that the last time I reformatted I used an hp tool to restore to factory settings.

Does anyone know whether there is a difference in performance between doing a clean install of Windows 7 vs upgrading Vista? Any better stability? I'm just wondering whether it's worth the trouble of the clean install.

I'm trying to get rid of the pop-up that Internet Explorer gives that tells me that I can speed up my browsing by disabling add-ons. All the googling I've done tells me to run gpedit.msc and go to Administrative Templates Windows Components Internet Explorer and enable "Disable add-on performance notifications". I've run gpedit.msc and searched through the options, and no-where can I find "Disable add-on performance notifications". The only option that mentions add-ons is "Do not allow users to enable or disable add-ons". I've opened that up just in case the option I want is hidden within that, but it doesn't seem to beI run Windows 7 64 home premium (I followed some instructions I found on the net to enable gpedit.msc as it is generally only available on Windows 7 Professional) and Internet Explorer 9.

Alright mighty Tom's Hardware community. I have a very, very frustrating and perplexing issue. If anyone can figure this one out, it's you. I also have no idea if this is a hardware or software issue, so we'll try here first. So here we go:I have been running Windows 7 Home Premium (64) since the completion of my custom build at the beginning of the summer with no issues and no complaints. However, when I first put it together I only installed 8 GB (4x2 GB) of memory with the intention of upgrading it down the road. So Cyber Monday rolls around this year and I picked up some brand new G.SKILL Ripjaws 32 GB (4 x 8 GB) modules. Receive them in the mail, install them, and fire it up only to discover that Windows 7 Home Premium only supports 16 GB of memory.

I'm having some performance decrease on my new Build. I bought a new motherboard, Hard Drive and CPU Cooler and had to re-install windows to get my new board to work properly. I've noticed that now in League of Legends my frame rate is around 40-70 when I used to have a constant 150+ even in hectic situations where lots of things were going on at one time. I have the latest AMD Drivers, 13.1. I have tried reverting back to 12.10 to see if its the new version that's causing the problem, but its the same. [code]

is there a way to backup my programs and settings and such so that I can restore them after a clean install? I've been having some problems with Windows 7, so I'm just going to start fresh. I don't want to be too fresh though =P I have a SSD and a HDD, so I'll be backing them up to the HDD.

System SpecsDell Studio 540Intel Q8200Windows 7 64bit Ultimate Edition Retail (came with Vista) I feel kind of dumb not knowing this but here we go. I consider myself very knowledgeable about computers but I'm not sure if there is a utility for what I want to do. My parents computer is having some issues I replaced the hard drive and i used Acronis True Image to copy the hard drive so they wouldn't have to redo all there bookmarks and personal info for there websites and just the general windows settings like wallpaper etc. So since i have done this something just isn't quite right something must of been corrupted from the old hard drive. So anyways I am gonna do a clean install and i was wondering if there is a utility that will allow me to save everyones profiles so that i can just pop in a disk and restore all the settings. I am not worried about any files or programs on the computer I have them all backed up my only concern is windows settings themselves.I just can't figure out how to do this if there even is a way to backup everyones profile settings.

It's time for me to change HDD. I wanto to go for a fresh Windows 7 x64ultimate instal. Now, I wonder, Can I backup and load something like "control panel settings"? That way I could load them after. On the new Windows 7 installation. Something like:
1) Backup settings
2) Change HDD
3) Mount new HDD
4) Fresh install
5) Load settings.

Anyway, basically what I'm running into is that I re-seated my CMOS battery a few weeks ago because my computer wasn't starting up. Obviously, the clock reset. I just synced it back up, and everything was fine for all of 10 minutes.
At this point, the clock resets on reboot, but also seems to switch to seemingly random times while the computer is on. I've stopped and started Windows time, done several virus scans that yielded nothing, but it still seems to do this.

I recently got a used computer from a friend and I have discovered that the clock is always set to 2009-08-07. The clock cycles from 4:02 AM- 5:02 AM and it resets itself. If I try to change it then the computer becomes very slow and laggy, however, the mouse is not. I have run my anti virus to see if it is a virus but there was none detected. I suspect it might be something to do with my motherboard.

the one that displays on the lower task bar, right hand side, and see if it (now) displays the correct GMT (same as UTC) ? Since the start of the New Year, mine displays the wrong GMT, even though I'm pretty sure it is all set up correctly. Can't seem to get it to display correctly.
It used to.

I have the clock set to notify me when clock changes, and it always has a note as to when a change is scheduled for savings time, but it never notifies me nor changes the time on it's own. I always have to reset it myself and that is usually after the time confuses me enough for me to check the actual time.
How do I get it to reset automatically?

I'm interested to know whether its possible to disable the system clock? We all know applications and websites can get access to our time zone, etc. I often use anonymous browser clients such as TOR & JonDo to protect my online privacy. For example, I might be set an IP address in Russia, but live in America. The thing is - websites can still access our time zone on the computer so they will I'm not in Russia but actually in xxxx state in America. I don't want to change the time to something random as I've heard this can destabilize the computer and its applications. So is it possible to disable it? If not - is there a browser configuration to block access to it? I did attempt running it under Sandboxie but that doesn't work either.
