Setup A Network Printer For 4 PC Without Internet Connection?
Feb 2, 2012setting up a Network Printer for my small office with four (4) PC/Computers with the following details:
1. I dont have an Internet connection.
2. I have a printer with LAN capable
I wonder if I can use a switch, hub or routers but there are plenty of a kind, I don't know what to use and how to use.
Lost Wireless Connection To Printer
Jan 21, 2011My Partner is a professor at a major university and conducts a consulting business from home. We have 2 old desktops and a new HP Pavilion notebook on our home wireless network. The new notebook was set up by a University tech person 12/10 and was functioning properly. All the computers are linked to our older hp Laser Jet 1300 PCL 6 printer. One day the notebook froze and when rebooted it had lost its connection to the printer. I have done everything I know and followed numerous "geek" instructions to reconnect. So far I have succeeded only in losing my own printer access on my old Dell Dimension 2400 desktop. Prior to that, however, both old desktops were printing, even as the new notebook did not. Connection to the Internet is fine and the signal strength from the new Belkin router is "Excellent".

Sep 5, 2011I have an HP desktop running Windows XP Pro and I network to an HP notebook through a wireless router.I recently purchased a Gateway Laptop with windows 7 Home Premium. It found my wireless router immediately and I was able to get on the net. It also found my HP desktop so I could share files.The problem I am having is with my network printer. It is an older epson stylus photo r320. Epson says that windows 7 has a driver for this printer and if I plug the printer directly into the laptop using the usb connection wiindows 7 finds the printer no problem. If I try and have windows 7 locate the printer on the network it can't find it.

The printer is connected to the wireless network and prints a test page from the printer set up and the info when i print the network config page is correct. The printer is set as default and I have re-installed the drivers and gone through the whole HP problem-solving thing.

Aug 12, 2012I had a Dell MFP1600n laser printer given to me a while back (Praise the Lord) & it came at the right time as I was destitute then & couldn't afford cartridges for a Canon I960.Here's the rub.There was no problem connecting & using the printer with a wired connection to a Linksys WRT54GS & a wired XP Desktop & a wireless XP Desktop (both older 86X systems).Though the 64 bit, wireless, Windows 7 laptop connected through the same router to the internet. As usual, it would not & still does not "see the XP machines". It also would not, through multiple configurations, connect to this printer.At first I tried to update the driver, but Dell only had XP 32 bit available. After hours & days of wasted time with "Add printer", I resorted to using a flash drive for the few times I needed to print something from this infernal Windows 7 machine.
I finally wondered if my head was stuck in the "soon to be obsolete, XP mode".'know, this isn't the first time Microsoft has Pi**ed me off & I understand that we are all "beta testing" a product that we have paid several hundred dollars for. I also understand the reason for security, but I don't want to spend 50% or better of my time trying to use an OS that cannot tell ME from a scumbag intruder. There are AV programs for that...As it came installed on my laptop (& of course I received no restore or install disks whatsoever with it), I'm stuck with trying to repair, rather than reformat. Unless I wish to pi** away a bunch more money to Microsoft.
Wireless Network Connection - How To Install Canon Printer
May 16, 2011I have a canon printer (couple years old) and a Brothers printers connected to a computer with Vista 32bit. I just purchased a laptop that has windows 7 64bit. I can connect via wireless network to my Vista computer just fine. I was able to connect to and install the brother printer but when I try to install the canon printer I get a message something like this "Cant find INI file, will look in windows update" after a while it comes back and says It can find INI file. Probably it is because my Vista is 32 bit and my laptop Windows 7 64bit. But I did not have this problem with my brother printer. How do I install the canon printer?

Oct 22, 2009I'm trying (desperately) to set up my network on Windows 7, but have hit a bump in that it just cannot find my network. I checked Device Manager to see if the card was found - it was with a troubleshoot exclamation point on it.I removed the card, used the installation disc and am not able to get very far. After the install (after which nothing happens), I click on the Belkin Wireless Networking Utility icon on the desktop and it says "missing shortcut: searching for Belkinwcui.exe", after which I get a window saying "The item Belkinwcui.exe that this shortcut refers to has been changed of moved, so this shortcut will no longer work properly". That exe file isn't anywhere in my computer, searching through Explorer. In fact, in the Belkin install folder (Program Files (x86) -> Belkin ->FSD8001v1...) there just looks like maybe a driver (AegisE5.dll) and an application (AegisI5) that doesn't run. I guess is to take my PC upstairs and line it into my modem/base station directly, but I'd rather not move it.

May 17, 2011I have a computer with Windows 7. It's a 64 bit Acer. I've had the problem twice now with two different programs that the software installations will not begin. Zune software, but now HP All in ONE printer software.I've tried the following:
1. Running from DVD disks AND full download from HP
2. Run in Safemode
3. Reset misiexe and Autoplay functionality
4. Ran windows update
5. Disabled Norton and Ran Malwarytebytes (all fine)
6. The file will extract to the %TEMP% folder. I've tried running the setup.exe from there AND re-saving it elsewhere.
7. HP Customer Support had me create another user admin account- nothing.
Unidentified Network - WPA2 Wireless Setup
Feb 14, 2011I setup WPA2 on my router and everyone can connect just fine. But a new laptop with Windows 7 that used to be able to connect before I set WPA2 can no longer connect. It takes a few minutes connecting saying "Identifying" then ends up saying it's connected with "Unidentified network". Can't ping the router, can't get to the internet etc. I've tried rebooting both the laptop and router, network diagnostic (which just tells me to reboot the router) etc and nothing works.

Print Spooler Stops During New Printer Setup
Apr 16, 2011I recent purchased a a new computer with Windows 7 Home Premium x64 and a Canon MG5220 Inkjet All-in-One printer. I have setup printer to be wireless (no problems). When I run the setup disk to start downloading the drivers, etc. I get the message that the Print Spooler Service stopped and to restart the computer. I have done that several times. Every time have to restart the spooler in the print spooler properties only to have have it stop a few seconds later when I try to re-run the setup disk. I have deleted the files in the printer and driver files under windowssystem32spoolerdrivers. There is a file called color in the driver filer. I have cleaned up the registry. I have tried the Window Fix.

I tested the connection speeds with testinternetspeed.org (legit or not idk. results were pretty consistent.) With just LAN i got 8Mbps download. With just the wireless i got 15Mbps. For the hell of it I tried it with both in. I got 45Mbps. With such a good connection I would love to keep it like that but my question is will this setup potentially harm my new PC?

May 27, 2012My parents brand new pc - a dell desktop - Windows 7 - i5 core, a really nice fast machine. They have a HP psc 2410 photosmart printer that they used on their old machine. I installed it on the new one, it installed fine - no problems. However, on some websites - and I can't figure out exactly why some work and some don't, but for instance - on the Food Network site, when she goes to print a recipe, it will overlay the pages on top of each other. It does this even in the print preview.
Also, she can no longer click on "clickable links" in emails. Or even on some web pages. For instance - the "manage attachments" link below, which I can access on my machine with no problem, here on this new PC, does absolutely nothing.
We are using IE9, that came installed. All updates have been done. I have never seen this behavior before - and I'm stumped.

Nov 6, 2010I have a Wireless Trendnet TEW-432BRP router. My wireless internet connection keeps dropping every 30 minutes. After it drops it usually reconnects by it self in like 1minute. This is getting to be annoying since this occurs a lot while I play online games. This router has been perfectly working fine before. It is connected to the computer using an Ethernet cable
