Wireless Network Connection - How To Install Canon Printer
May 16, 2011
I have a canon printer (couple years old) and a Brothers printers connected to a computer with Vista 32bit. I just purchased a laptop that has windows 7 64bit. I can connect via wireless network to my Vista computer just fine. I was able to connect to and install the brother printer but when I try to install the canon printer I get a message something like this "Cant find INI file, will look in windows update" after a while it comes back and says It can find INI file. Probably it is because my Vista is 32 bit and my laptop Windows 7 64bit. But I did not have this problem with my brother printer. How do I install the canon printer?

I have an HP desktop running Windows XP Pro and I network to an HP notebook through a wireless router.I recently purchased a Gateway Laptop with windows 7 Home Premium. It found my wireless router immediately and I was able to get on the net. It also found my HP desktop so I could share files. The problem I am having is with my network printer. It is an older epson stylus photo r320. Epson says that windows 7 has a driver for this printer and if I plug the printer directly into the laptop using the usb connection wiindows 7 finds the printer no problem. If I try and have windows 7 locate the printer on the network it can't find it.

in all builds up to and including 7077 my Canon MX700 network printer was recognized and worked like a charm, including the scanner etc.
Now on a clean install of the RC (build 7100) the Canon network scanning utility comes up with a message saying it has known problems and to contact Canon.
I have tried it in all compatibility modes, administrator, the latest Vista drivers etc from Canon. I did manage to get it installed and it can see the printer but it will not allocate a port for it. When I try to allocate the port it will not work.
Canon do not have any way to contact them other than by phone (good one Canon) and I really have not had the time to sit on the end of a phone wating for them to tell me Windows 7 is not supported.
Oh...this is in x32 and x64 I have tried both but back on x32 for the moment.
I might try the long way....by reinstalling 7077 and then upgrading to 7100 but that is a bit extreme.
Anyone else had similar problems and solved them or do I just have to wait patiently for Canon?

I have a new Canon MX860 connected to my wireless LAN. My XP laptop can print and scan with no problems. However, my new Windows 7 laptop will print but not scan. Have tried uninstalling/reinstalling the Canon software and drivers (with firewall/antivirus turned off - as per Canon advice). The message is always the same:" Cannot communicate with scanner for these reasons-scanner is disconnected-scanner is turned off.
Have tried using Scangear Tool but it can't find the scanner-even when I sit it within 30cms of both the laptop and my wireless router. Canons last response is that it must be an incompatibility with Windows 7 as the printer works fine with XP- I have to take it up with Microsoft- Canon for the support. Canon IJ Network Utility also loaded but will not run with Windows 7 (64 bit). Also tried changing compatibility settings for all software & drivers in various combinations - but the message is the same. People on this forum resolved my only other problem with spooler errors

My Partner is a professor at a major university and conducts a consulting business from home. We have 2 old desktops and a new HP Pavilion notebook on our home wireless network. The new notebook was set up by a University tech person 12/10 and was functioning properly. All the computers are linked to our older hp Laser Jet 1300 PCL 6 printer. One day the notebook froze and when rebooted it had lost its connection to the printer. I have done everything I know and followed numerous "geek" instructions to reconnect. So far I have succeeded only in losing my own printer access on my old Dell Dimension 2400 desktop. Prior to that, however, both old desktops were printing, even as the new notebook did not. Connection to the Internet is fine and the signal strength from the new Belkin router is "Excellent".

I've moved again recently and this time my laptop running 7 professional isn't connecting to the HP J6410 printer. The printer is connected to the wireless network and prints a test page from the printer set up and the info when i print the network config page is correct. The printer is set as default and I have re-installed the drivers and gone through the whole HP problem-solving thing.

I had a Dell MFP1600n laser printer given to me a while back (Praise the Lord) & it came at the right time as I was destitute then & couldn't afford cartridges for a Canon I960.Here's the rub. There was no problem connecting & using the printer with a wired connection to a Linksys WRT54GS & a wired XP Desktop & a wireless XP Desktop (both older 86X systems).Though the 64 bit, wireless, Windows 7 laptop connected through the same router to the internet. As usual, it would not & still does not "see the XP machines". It also would not, through multiple configurations, connect to this printer. At first I tried to update the driver, but Dell only had XP 32 bit available. After hours & days of wasted time with "Add printer", I resorted to using a flash drive for the few times I needed to print something from this infernal Windows 7 machine.
I finally wondered if my head was stuck in the "soon to be obsolete, XP mode".'know, this isn't the first time Microsoft has Pi**ed me off & I understand that we are all "beta testing" a product that we have paid several hundred dollars for. I also understand the reason for security, but I don't want to spend 50% or better of my time trying to use an OS that cannot tell ME from a scumbag intruder. There are AV programs for that...As it came installed on my laptop (& of course I received no restore or install disks whatsoever with it), I'm stuck with trying to repair, rather than reformat. Unless I wish to pi** away a bunch more money to Microsoft.

Canon Mx850 networked printer has been working fine on Win7 64 and WinXP. Today after printing several docs I suddenly cannot print from Win7. I can get to printer status page from IE9 with no trouble so that IP address is correct. I can scan from the device on Win7 using Twain. I can print fine from WinXP. When I print from Win7 the Print Queue shows print-error under status

Acer Aspire 7745 Notebook (purchased 10/25/2010)Win 7 HP 64-bit (build 7600) (last update 11/11/2010)Broadcom 802.11n Wireless Adapter (5.60.48.35)Since the last update, the wireless network keeps dropping its connection randomly. Windows Network Diagnostics says it can't connect. Status shows limited connection. Manual disconnect and re-connect says "Not in range" although it shows in the available networks with strong signal. Disable and re-enable causes the entire system to lock up and I have to power down. The only reliable way to reestablish a connection is to reboot or wait some random amount of time until the system decides to recognize the wireless network again.

I have a 3 PC router based workgroup network. 2 PCs are XP SP 3, one PC is Windows 7 When all PCs are wired, everything works just fine. All PCs (W7 and XP) can see and share files with all other PCs (It took a bit of doing but I got there eventually)If I try to connect the W7 PC wirelessly,
* the W7 PC cannot access/share files on the XP machines
* the XP machines can see and share files on the W7 PC
* The W7 PC can access the router and can ping the other PCs
There is no firewall in operation on the XP machine What do I need to do to get the W7 machine to access/share files on the XP machine via wireless connection?

I tried to update avg on hubs laptop so the kids can play and now after I did it we can't get online period!! on the tool bar were the connection pic is says limited connection? So I did all of the steps to fix ect and it finally came up to.
- There might be a problem w/the drivers for the wireless connection2 adapter
- There might be a problem w/the drivers for the local area connection adapter
MY actual modem is good as we have 3 running right now - should I go to restore point before avg in the critical update moments before I realizes this problem?

Just reinstalled my windows 7 home premium after having some issues and thus far everything is working swell, except for the fact that I can't seem to find any wireless connections under connections available- I can't even seem to set up wireless connections.
I know nothing is wrong inside the computer since my splash top allows me to go onto the internet wirelessly- so I'm guessing this has something to do with me just installing windows 7 home premium again.
Without the internet I can't download drivers or get windows updates-
Looked in device manager and there are three exclamations next to these drivers:
standard VGA Graphics Adapter
Network Controller
Unknown device
Can't seem to fix the exclamations since I can't get internet access (only have wireless net) Is there anything I can download and burn to get these drivers working?

In our office we have our PC's connected to our inter-office network server via the Ethernet ports (Local Area Connection) with a hard wire to a hub, that in turn runs to our server. We also each have a wireless internet connection on our PC's via a USB wireless adapter. When we were using XP this was not a problem to have access to the server AND the internet at the same time.
When my PC died last year I bought a Dell Inspiron 560 slim tower with Windows 7 to replace my XP machine. The first problem I ran into was that I could no longer use the wireless internet connection AND the hard wired connection to our server operating at the same time. If I stayed connected to our server, I will not have a wireless connection. If I go into the "Local Area Connection" properties and "disable" the connection, I almost instantly get my wireless connection back. The big issue when doing this is if I leave our database program (ACT!) open while the server connection is disabled, I have to shut down ACT!, then restart it before I can connect it to the server. If I try to without closing and reopening it I get all kinds of errors.
So, in the mean time, I have just put a shortcut on my desktop that allows me to enable and disable the Local Area Connection when I need internet access.
A couple days ago, my boss's PC grabbed a virus that slipped past McAfee (that program is now gone!!) and really hosed up his PC. He bought the Windows 7 upgrade software and wiped the hard drive and installed Windows 7. He is now having the same issue as I am.
For what it's worth, he is using a Belkin Wireless-G USB wireless adapter, and mine is a Netgear Wireless-N USB adapter.
Is there any way we can have the two connections operate at the same time like they did in XP? It really becomes a pain sometimes when we are on the phone with a client and we need to jump back and forth between info that is online, and info that is on our server that we access through ACT!.

"Problem with the driver for Wireless Adapter".I have an HP-Pavilion 2009f with Windows 7 home premium 64-bit. All has been fine with my internet connection, except for a few drops here and there, but all in all it has been tolerable. When I went to bed last night it worked, when I woke up, it didn't. When I troubleshoot I get the message, "There might be a problem with the driver for the Wireless Network Connection Adapter", to which Windows cannot fix. I get this same error message, respectively, for both wired and wireless connections. After troubleshooting without success, I decided to try and do system update.I am only connected with "Limited Access".What's even weirder is when I open a cmd window and enter ipconfig /all.

As you can see today when I got on my laptop I wasn't able to connect to the Internet and after attempting to troubleshoot I got this error message along with one saying a network cable is not properly plugged in or is broken. We recently switched Internet service providers and the Internet has been running fine. The only proble I had was sometimes it would randomly drop in speed but I don't think that has anything to do with the issue. Last night it was working perfectly, but then it went slow so I unplugged our router and then disabled the wireless network then reeanbled it. Anyways I've been using this network for a few months now without issues but I think the issue lies within my computer. I checked for windows updates and installed them but no luck. Then I checked for driver updates for my adapters but they were up to date. I don't have any screenshots and I'm on a tablet. Also please use the simplest terms possible because while I have a basic understanding of these things, I'm no expert and I don't want to miss anything

If you have time to help me solve this problem I would really appreciate it. First off, I have a Samsung NP350V4C notebook with an Atheros AR9485WB-EG Wireless Network Adapter (currently up-to-date), the system I'm running on is a Windows 7 Ultimate x64, and my router is a TP-Link WR-740n. As of now,
I can connect to our router and internet nicely, but this is only possible because I just restarted our router. And probably (100% sure of it), if I restart, reboot, sleep my notebook, or simply press the disconnect button on my wireless connection list, I would have difficulty connecting again. By difficulty I mean, my notebook would continuously try to identify the network, and in between identifications says "no internet access" with a yellow triangle with an exclamation point on it.
So, again I have to restart the router just so I could connect my notebook to get wireless connection. Troubleshooting the network (by clicking on the red "X" mark on the network map between the home network and internet) doesn't help either. I also tried the ipconfig /release and /renew... does not help either, it just says media disconnected and such. One thing that amazes me that my notebook can connect to home wireless network flawlessly

I have three different wireless networks I can connect to, but the one Windows connects to first by default is not my first choice. I'd like to reorder the connection priority. Problem is, as you can see, no networks show up in my manage networks control panel! It clear as day shows that there are five choices, but, does not list them for me to prioritize! Is there a setting somewhere I'm missing that will make the networks visible?

I have looked on the web and followed instruction on what you could try to do but nothing makes it stop. I don't notice anything strange like a virus on my computer either.
