Windows Network Diagnostics says it can't connect. Status shows limited connection. Manual disconnect and re-connect says "Not in range" although it shows in the available networks with strong signal. Disable and re-enable causes the entire system to lock up and I have to power down. The only reliable way to reestablish a connection is to reboot or wait some random amount of time until the system decides to recognize the wireless network again.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have an HP desktop running Windows XP Pro and I network to an HP notebook through a wireless router.I recently purchased a Gateway Laptop with windows 7 Home Premium. It found my wireless router immediately and I was able to get on the net. It also found my HP desktop so I could share files. The problem I am having is with my network printer. It is an older epson stylus photo r320. Epson says that windows 7 has a driver for this printer and if I plug the printer directly into the laptop using the usb connection wiindows 7 finds the printer no problem. If I try and have windows 7 locate the printer on the network it can't find it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a 3 PC router based workgroup network. 2 PCs are XP SP 3, one PC is Windows 7 When all PCs are wired, everything works just fine. All PCs (W7 and XP) can see and share files with all other PCs (It took a bit of doing but I got there eventually)If I try to connect the W7 PC wirelessly,
* the W7 PC cannot access/share files on the XP machines
* the XP machines can see and share files on the W7 PC
* The W7 PC can access the router and can ping the other PCs
There is no firewall in operation on the XP machine What do I need to do to get the W7 machine to access/share files on the XP machine via wireless connection?
Alright I am running Windows 7 X64 Bit. I am running a Linksys AE1000 wireless adapter with a Linksys router with Comcast cable. Anyway here is my problem. Before I didn't have to configure the IP4 settings as it was set automatically obtain IP and DNS settings. But now I have to put in those values manually to get online because if I don't I get the unidentified network in my the network area.I have done the following setting adjustments:-Disabled the bonjour service.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI tried to update avg on hubs laptop so the kids can play and now after I did it we can't get online period!! on the tool bar were the connection pic is says limited connection? So I did all of the steps to fix ect and it finally came up to.
- There might be a problem w/the drivers for the wireless connection2 adapter
- There might be a problem w/the drivers for the local area connection adapter
MY actual modem is good as we have 3 running right now - should I go to restore point before avg in the critical update moments before I realizes this problem?
Just reinstalled my windows 7 home premium after having some issues and thus far everything is working swell, except for the fact that I can't seem to find any wireless connections under connections available- I can't even seem to set up wireless connections.
I know nothing is wrong inside the computer since my splash top allows me to go onto the internet wirelessly- so I'm guessing this has something to do with me just installing windows 7 home premium again.
Without the internet I can't download drivers or get windows updates-
Looked in device manager and there are three exclamations next to these drivers:
standard VGA Graphics Adapter
Network Controller
Unknown device
Can't seem to fix the exclamations since I can't get internet access (only have wireless net) Is there anything I can download and burn to get these drivers working?
In our office we have our PC's connected to our inter-office network server via the Ethernet ports (Local Area Connection) with a hard wire to a hub, that in turn runs to our server. We also each have a wireless internet connection on our PC's via a USB wireless adapter. When we were using XP this was not a problem to have access to the server AND the internet at the same time.
When my PC died last year I bought a Dell Inspiron 560 slim tower with Windows 7 to replace my XP machine. The first problem I ran into was that I could no longer use the wireless internet connection AND the hard wired connection to our server operating at the same time. If I stayed connected to our server, I will not have a wireless connection. If I go into the "Local Area Connection" properties and "disable" the connection, I almost instantly get my wireless connection back. The big issue when doing this is if I leave our database program (ACT!) open while the server connection is disabled, I have to shut down ACT!, then restart it before I can connect it to the server. If I try to without closing and reopening it I get all kinds of errors.
So, in the mean time, I have just put a shortcut on my desktop that allows me to enable and disable the Local Area Connection when I need internet access.
A couple days ago, my boss's PC grabbed a virus that slipped past McAfee (that program is now gone!!) and really hosed up his PC. He bought the Windows 7 upgrade software and wiped the hard drive and installed Windows 7. He is now having the same issue as I am.
For what it's worth, he is using a Belkin Wireless-G USB wireless adapter, and mine is a Netgear Wireless-N USB adapter.
Is there any way we can have the two connections operate at the same time like they did in XP? It really becomes a pain sometimes when we are on the phone with a client and we need to jump back and forth between info that is online, and info that is on our server that we access through ACT!.
"Problem with the driver for Wireless Adapter".I have an HP-Pavilion 2009f with Windows 7 home premium 64-bit. All has been fine with my internet connection, except for a few drops here and there, but all in all it has been tolerable. When I went to bed last night it worked, when I woke up, it didn't. When I troubleshoot I get the message, "There might be a problem with the driver for the Wireless Network Connection Adapter", to which Windows cannot fix. I get this same error message, respectively, for both wired and wireless connections. After troubleshooting without success, I decided to try and do system update.I am only connected with "Limited Access".What's even weirder is when I open a cmd window and enter ipconfig /all.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAs you can see today when I got on my laptop I wasn't able to connect to the Internet and after attempting to troubleshoot I got this error message along with one saying a network cable is not properly plugged in or is broken. We recently switched Internet service providers and the Internet has been running fine. The only proble I had was sometimes it would randomly drop in speed but I don't think that has anything to do with the issue. Last night it was working perfectly, but then it went slow so I unplugged our router and then disabled the wireless network then reeanbled it. Anyways I've been using this network for a few months now without issues but I think the issue lies within my computer. I checked for windows updates and installed them but no luck. Then I checked for driver updates for my adapters but they were up to date. I don't have any screenshots and I'm on a tablet. Also please use the simplest terms possible because while I have a basic understanding of these things, I'm no expert and I don't want to miss anything
View 1 Replies View RelatedIf you have time to help me solve this problem I would really appreciate it. First off, I have a Samsung NP350V4C notebook with an Atheros AR9485WB-EG Wireless Network Adapter (currently up-to-date), the system I'm running on is a Windows 7 Ultimate x64, and my router is a TP-Link WR-740n. As of now,
I can connect to our router and internet nicely, but this is only possible because I just restarted our router. And probably (100% sure of it), if I restart, reboot, sleep my notebook, or simply press the disconnect button on my wireless connection list, I would have difficulty connecting again. By difficulty I mean, my notebook would continuously try to identify the network, and in between identifications says "no internet access" with a yellow triangle with an exclamation point on it.
So, again I have to restart the router just so I could connect my notebook to get wireless connection. Troubleshooting the network (by clicking on the red "X" mark on the network map between the home network and internet) doesn't help either. I also tried the ipconfig /release and /renew... does not help either, it just says media disconnected and such. One thing that amazes me that my notebook can connect to home wireless network flawlessly
I have three different wireless networks I can connect to, but the one Windows connects to first by default is not my first choice. I'd like to reorder the connection priority. Problem is, as you can see, no networks show up in my manage networks control panel! It clear as day shows that there are five choices, but, does not list them for me to prioritize! Is there a setting somewhere I'm missing that will make the networks visible?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have Avira Virus protection on my desktop PC connected to the internet via wireless adapter, and lately I have been getting the little pop-up that says "your wireless network connection is ICMP flooded". this happens literally more than 20 times a day just by doing everyday activities on my computer. I have looked on the web and followed instruction on what you could try to do but nothing makes it stop. I don't notice anything strange like a virus on my computer either.
View 4 Replies View RelatedThe computer which has the problem is an Acer Aspire X3400, 64-bit operating system. I get the unidentified network no internet access thing come up when i click on the little symbol at the bottom which has the yellow warning triangle infront of it. I have tried disabling the connection and restoring it. Releasing the ip and renewing it. I have tried to update the driver (ethernet cable) but it says it is up to date. In the driver management there is a yellow triangle next to the USB network interface.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a canon printer (couple years old) and a Brothers printers connected to a computer with Vista 32bit. I just purchased a laptop that has windows 7 64bit. I can connect via wireless network to my Vista computer just fine. I was able to connect to and install the brother printer but when I try to install the canon printer I get a message something like this "Cant find INI file, will look in windows update" after a while it comes back and says It can find INI file. Probably it is because my Vista is 32 bit and my laptop Windows 7 64bit. But I did not have this problem with my brother printer. How do I install the canon printer?

Been fine connecting to the internet since day 1 and now after having my laptop for about 6 months, It decides to connect, but have "Limited Access", therefore, not allowing me ANY Access. I diagnosed the problem and it told me to shut router off, all that stuff. I shut the router off, waited 10 seconds, turned it on, all that jazz and says that I "Completed" that, but now reads, "Wireless Network Connection doesn't have a valid IP configuration".

My wireless connection only connects when the network cable is connected. If I unplug the RJ45, the wireless won't connect. This is so dumb.

View 3 Replies View RelatedFor the past few days, I have been on a intermittent wireless connection. Under the wireless network icon, there's an ! mark, I tried to solve it using Microsoft diagnosis, but it didn't work. I switched off Microsoft Miniport Adapter too, didn't work as well. I Pinged my own connection using Command Prompt and the results were fine. For a limited random number of sites, I am still able to access. I tried Torrenting and it still works too.
