View 1 RepliesSo ive been getting the black screen with movable cursor lately and have tried many a methods to remove it i tried checking in my event log for something, and this is waht it said "The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load:dtsoftbus01" So what does this mean and how can i fix this?
View 4 Replies View RelatedMonday couldn't boot up PC, had to go to system recovery and restore to previous day.
Log files show below that 4 things failed to load. Tuesday couldn't boot up PC again.. tried to restart like 4-5 times.. Finally comes up and in the logs there's numerous things that failed to load. Running a sfc /scannow right now.
I found corrupted system files, but it appears that the hard disk is fine. executed chkdsk and no bad sectors.Just looked into this on event viewer-The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load:xsoaynmfmfxpefxbozedltnzvijcvI am running Acer Aspire X3950-U3022 with Windows 7 Home Premium Home Edition.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm not sure where to even begin to fix these problems. Some online searches suggested doing a system repair but I want to get some more feedback here before proceeding. Here is the message from the event log:The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load:
AFD
cmdGuard
cmdHlp
CSC
DfsC
discache
ElbyCDIO
[code]...
I realized some of these are not Windows 7 related but most are. While the computer "works", I do experience frequent reboots and freezes. Perhaps some of these driver loading failures are part of the cause of my issues.
when booting up windows 7 why do I have to key in F1 for windows to start up
View 1 Replies View RelatedFirst of all sorry if there has been any similar question in the past.I am having a really agravating problem: my motherboard's bios keeps rearranging the boot order for the hard disks on every power-on cycle. I always turn the power off at night from the PSU swith to protect from spikes. If i don't do that, the boot order remains as i set it. The problem itself is: when pc is powered on, the RAID set i use for windows and games doesn't show up at all not even in the boot device selection menu F8. So i have to reset the system and only then can i use the F8 boot menu to select the RAID and use the pc normally, and the RAID is always the last option in the list. To make things worse, the wireless keyboard i use doesn't always work on the first attempt - probably legacy USB detection glitch - but that's ok i can live with that one as long as i am able to use it in Windows. The motherboard is Asus P5N-E SLI. Also i did verify the CMOS battery with a voltmeter and it shows over 3V so it's in good shape. Makes sense it be good since i've only had the board a few months, it's practically new even though not a new model. I also checked with Asus website for newer BIOS but not a chance, the motherboard is not even in production any more.

View 4 Replies View RelatedJust installed my new rig and trying to get Windows 7 on it. I'm using an Upgrade DVD from Acer 64-Bit, and trying to boot from the CD-ROM setting in BIOS or boot mode. I am unable to get past the "Starting Windows 7" screen with the logo. It just freezes there or loads and goes to a black screen. I don't have other OS DVD/CDs to try out other than the old Windows 7 RC I had a while back. That wouldn't load either. Now I tried to use a different DVD-ROM and it wouldn't load either. What could be the problem?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just finished putting my computer together, and i'm installing OEM Windows 7 64-bit from the disc. after windows loads files, i get a black screen and error message that says: "Windows failed to start. a recent hardware or software change may be the cause. to fix the problem, then it gives me the repair computer steps. it also says

I don't know what to do because i can't access windows at all, is there something i can do in BIOS to fix this?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI've been attempting a dual boot Vista 64 with Windows 7 on a 30GB partition on my c: drive.
This has not been successful as I can't get online, 7 can't see my router.
See dual boot thread in this forum if you're interested.
Anyway, in frustration I just tried a reinstall/ recovery with my original iso disk and I think I've bollixed the whole thing.
I realized what I was doing, another install, and ejected the disk in a panic and now find I have to 7 installs on that partition neither of which is booting properly.
So can I somehow wipe this partition and start afresh?
Also I'm thinking that my original download/iso disk might have been corrupt or something and that could be what's caused me these problems. I could download another one and burn a fresh disk.
Could I just format the drive or is there another way required.
I've tried to install Windows 7 (Build 7000) but at the first reboot of the installation Windows 7 doesn't start.
The error is: "Winload.exe missing or corrupt".
I can still boot my XP but no way to boot Windows 7...
I tried a couple of times to run repair with windows 7 disc, but with no success...
What is curious is that each time I runned the repair, windows 7 show my installation in a different drive letter...
Xp is installed in C: and Windows 7 in H: (from xp side).
Is it possible that windows 7 is giving the drive another letter?
I've changed (from xp) the drive letter where window 7 is and this didn't work either...
I also used BCDEdit to view boot info and it displays the same drive letter for windows 7 that I see from XP.
Any ideas? anyone can help?
01May I replaced the hard drive and re-installed W7 on the new HD. Spent a couple hrs on phone w. MS to get them to reactivate my key. Once installed and activated W7 did the updates I expected it to. But eventually, it gave me error messages on some updates, which I ignored. Over the next 3 days, things would run fine, but the "shutdown" button on the start menu would always tell me it had updates. Each time I shutdown, it would say "Installing 1 of 3 updates". I would restart the comp and get the same update indicator. Eventually I ignored it.Yesterday, 21May, I decided to restart, since it hadn't been done in awhile. It shutdown fine, but when it got to the "starting windows" screen where the colored dots fly in to make the windows logo, it froze w. the red and yellow dots in mid flight. I never saw the other dots, the logo, or anything there after.
I did a hard shutdown, tried to restart, and got a choice to run window repair (recommended) or start normal. "Start normal" freezes at the above mentioned screen w. the dots. The repair option loads files and then freezes at a black screen w. "Microsoft Corporation" and a progress indicator bar that never progresses.I eventually got the comp to boot from the W7 disc and reinstalled W7. Process was smooth, everything was running well. Or so I thought. This system has never woken up from sleep mode, so in the past, I have disabled the function. Last night, I forgot to. Woke up this morning and the comp was asleep. As usual, it would not respond so I had to do a hard shutdown. I now have the same freezing issue I described earlier. Thinking I could just reload W7 again, I booted from the disk. This time it froze at the same screen w. the red and yellow dots and wouldn't progress. It won't let me have the option of reinstalling. Thinking that it might be the HD, I put in the old HD, which I had wiped clean, and it froze at the 2 dots.I put the disc into another comp and it spun up just fine, w.o freezing, so its not the disc.
Summary: Comp freezes at the 2 dot screen on the old HD which is clean, on the new HD, from the boot disc of W7, and from a burned copy of the W7 ISO boot file. Whether I boot from the HD or the discs, I freeze at the 2 dot screen when trying to start W7 normally. When I try to repair, it freezes after loading files. It also freezes while trying to boot in safe mode and from the "last known good config." Microsoft says I probably need to update my Mobo Bios, but I don't know how to do it w.o being in W7.

I am having an issue with Windows Search Service. Almost every time I boot (in the morning), the Search service is disabled. Either I have to repair the function, or go into Services and restart it. Each time I do, I set the Windows Search service to start automatically. Sometimes it does, and sometimes not. This has been going on for several months. It got so bad; I installed another search program (Copernic) that worked just fine. But in the end, I actually reformatted my HD and reinstalled all apps and restored Documents. For a couple of weeks, everything was fine. Now it has started again. On boot the Windows Search service does not start.I have tried every fix that seemed reasonable and that I found online (too many to recite here). My virus software (AVG) finds nothing. I checked all the Windows components and they are correct.

I have a computer I am trying to refurbish. The old hard drive failed. I purchased a new hard drive. The CD/DVD player on the computer does not work, but I am able to boot from a USB. I was able to install Ubuntu from USB with no problems and now have a new copy of windows 7, 32 bit (computer is also 32 bit). I have tried to boot from the windows copy on the USB drive using many different tutorials as well as using the windows USB/DVD download tool. Each time I boot from the usb stick, a screen comes up that says windows failed to start. It says it may be due to a hardware problem. All other solutions to this involve using the recovery CDs or partition which I am not able to because the CD/DVD drive is broken, and I would like to not have to buy another one.
